In The Long Walk, only men are allowed to participate and compete.

At a certain point in the story, we discover that the Major, the man responsible for the Long Walk, has several illegitimate children.

With that in mind, I imagined a possibility: what if he had twins with one of the women he was involved with? A boy and a girl.

The boy decides to sign up for the Long Walk, despite his sister’s protests. His greatest desire is to truly know his father and, perhaps, live by his side — even knowing the risks.

However, once the withdrawal deadline passes, there is no turning back.

To prevent her brother from dying, the girl makes an extreme decision: she cuts her hair, wears his clothes, and disables his alarm. Then, she takes his place, assuming his identity.

In doing so, she becomes the first woman to participate in the Long Walk.

I’m going to disappear for an indefinite amount of time.

I want to be honest with you all — my mental health hasn’t been good, not even when I first created this account. But now it’s gotten much worse, and it escalated in a way I didn’t expect.

I’m really sorry. I thought I was getting better, but I just ended up sinking deeper.
