so if armand and daniel just decapitated louis and lestat the day of the concert, does that mean armand and daniel can’t go to the concert? I just feel like louis and lestat would try to retaliate if they showed up. i mean it’s the tvl/qotd final concert…armand and daniel have to show up….

i’m not yet ready to admit that daniel went along with armand’s beheading plan because armand manipulated daniel into thinking it was about stopping the great conversion. for now, i’m going with armand and daniel discussed it, armand asked daniel to do it, and daniel agreed because he wanted to support his companion. daniel broke armand and louis up. he’s watched the other vampires trash armand all season. why wouldn’t he help armand get closure?

*and of course it’s extremely fucked up that armand came up with this and tortured louis. no, the motivation didn’t build up enough during the season. they are, however, anne rice vampires and sometimes forcing each other into a bloody situation is the only way to make communication happen. tis fucked up though.

i don’t think we’re getting any red haired twins in the show. similar to how there was a mention of david talbot being killed in the second episode, I think the young twins at the witch killing were mekare and maharet’s narrative tomb stones. too bad. they have a beautiful story. hope i’m wrong and those twins are foreshadowing of qotd twins. but the way things are going it doesn’t seem like it.

TVL SPOILERS EPISODE 7 below the fold

i think tvl can be explained as a bad case of the yips from the writers. it's daunting to adapt a highly complex mammoth of a book like this to begin with. and roland really wasn't kidding about the budget cuts. the only guide they had was qotd, the movie. no iwtv tom cruise and brad pitt structure to fall back on. too bad. maybe someone else will attempt it in another 20 years. some beautiful scenes in the season of course. assad zaman did a good job in the finale. great scenes from him.

daniel grows three inches (why is he so much taller than armand all of a sudden?). there are so many theories that daniel has an evil spirit inside him given his enhanced assholery and erraticism. plus the weird infusions. armand’s eye patch in the first episode (come ON). sam reid saying episode 7 is otherworldly. it’s too much evidence pointing to daniel being possessed by memnoch (aka memnoch the devil). daniel literally turns beet red and looks like a cartoon devil in episode 7. if it’s not memnoch, i have no idea what the show is doing.

My guess is that we‘ll get the 12 years past devil‘s minion (1973-85) and then the paris proposal is where the big memory wipe happens and Armand mixes Daniel‘s memories of their relationship with the ones of Alice/Daniel‘s

Maybe Daniel met Alice during the runaway years at the end of the dm decade where he kept asking Armand for the gift and he wouldn’t give it to him. In the book that‘s where their relationship starts to crumble until Daniel almost dies and Armand turns him. So to me it‘d make a lot of sense if that‘s the moment Armand decides to end their affair and allow Daniel to live a happy, mortal life with Alice (which ofc backfires)

After that he continues watching over him as mentioned. To me that means we‘ll get those 12 years with lbf and assad on our screens and then for now the modern day romance with ebogo (don‘t ask me about the daniel‘s death situation I honestly just want to lean back and see what‘s going to happen). The 90s-2000s being the decades we get told about but not shown makes 100% sense from a production stand point and has nothing to do with telling over showing (they‘re also not important enough so it actually makes a lot of sense to tackle them first)

#have we ever considered that maybe armand could see where things were going with daniel getting more obsessed with the dark gift # armand wanted him to live #so armand found a person for daniel to essentially start a life with? #or maybe it was an accident alice getting pregnant (obviously it was) and armand saw it as an opportunity for daniel to have a normal life? #maybe all this happens too early with alice but if armand has a hand in everything that happens with daniel it makes sense he was adjacent to this too. #in the books daniel sleeps with a lot of people during their relationship who armand chose for him #while armand watches from a chair.

tvl s3e6 spoilers!!! daniel and armand listening to louis and lestat shit talk them all night. “dan is weird.” “don’t compare me to armand.” and louis and lestat have no clue what’s happening. armand and daniel are done with the whining. are they happy about lopping off their friends’ heads? probably not. but god, armand and daniel, i get it. heads can be ra-attached, louis and lestat will whine forever. (i love all four of them, come on. of course i do). and justice for antoinette and claudia and madeline. got some truths this week (probably).
