I do find the "Dani's love could fix Vlad" fantasy appealing, but I often actually prefer "Dani's love makes Vlad 1000x worse" because rather than fix him, their parent-child dynamic could bring out layers to Vlad's villainy that would previously have been impossible without her. Now his immense hubris revels in the notion that he has created "the superior Danny". He uses his daughter as a wrecking ball, a weapon, a surgical tool, a trophy, a mask. He gently holds her one moment and sends her to do his bidding the next. She blurs the line between minion and child, and it's not clear which he truly considers her as. He would rip the world apart to keep her happy. He would rip the world apart to keep her under his thumb. She's the only person who's ever loved him who hasn't betrayed him and she'll never betray him, right? He can't imagine his life without her. He can't live without her. He is suffocating, controlling, manipulative to the core, and he would rather be dead than lose her.
A quick explanation of my AU Dani's names! She's Dani as a human and Ellie as a ghost. The reason for this is marketing! Vlad wanted her hero name to sound audibly different from Danny's, so the public knows who the mayor endorses and who the mayor condemns without having to specify.
From a design stand point I like the split names because that diagonal division between white and black on her top has always been symbolic to me....
there are only two genders btw. people who are alive and people who are fucking dead

these days consist primarily of thinking how fucking cool it is that in Danny Phantom. it. it isn't "i need to keep my identity secret so my villains won't hurt my family". its. "the villains know and dont care about my identity, i need my identity to protect myself against my family" LIKE GOD???
obviously there's heroes, especially other teenage heroes, who are scared because they have some freaky new ability but USUALLY NOT "its my profession to dissect the thing my child is" like GOD
Some drawings
freak4freak is always so awesome but another character dynamic that i think is really great is freak vs freak. you're the only person who understands me and i'm the only person who understands you. unfortunately this also does not stop either of us from hating each other and in fact it might even make everything significantly worse for everyone involved
If you're ever feeling sad, just remember that Wikipedia's entry for fictional alumni of University of Wisconsin-Madison includes Vlad, Jack and Maddie
are you popular in your fandom?

They should have spared him, the Phantom kid. Most everyone agrees. They should have spared him when he started begging for his mom.
You can hear it in the videos. "Mom, please. Mom. No. Please, Mom. Mom. Mom." Ghost or not, it was a kid begging for his mom. You'd have to be pretty cold to hold a gun to a kid like that, already bleeding on the ground, begging for his mom.
Maddie Fenton took the shot anyway. It must have gotten to her though, after the fact. She quit ghost-hunting the very next day.
the story so far…
