Have you ever noticed that in the first arc Naruto was genuinely disturbed by the idea that ninjas are just objects to be used and also didn't compare himself to Zabuza or Haku, instead of saying "you're like me" just "he loved you so much"
Yeah I notice and I know, thatās because Kishi actually put effort in what he was writing back then, I guess, or maybe it was just so it wonāt get his manga canceled too soon, he said it wasanāt easy to get your manga published in jump back then and it wasanāt still decided if they should let him continue the manga or not before the first arc (with Zabuza and Haku), he was still working with his old editor and I think his editor was the one working mainly on the dialog for the characters and the storyās narrative. But after that he had to push kishi to write his characters himself, mainly because kishi was having problems with his own writing and he didnāt want to bother writing his cast of characters beside the main ones nor he tried improving himself as he was going, not even after he finished part 1. (Red flag for laziness)
Nardo was written (more or less) better I think but that wasanāt only thanks to Kishimoto, I think his editor played a big role in Nardoās character as well, mainly because without him the manga started to get more and more shitty as kishi was trying to write his own thing, or rather not his own, it looked more like some DBZ copypaste having friendship as itās main thing instead of fights (after he copied HxH). Itās a proven fact heās bad at writing since his new manga is also shit and youād expect someone like Kishimoto whoās been writing one of the most popular manga of itās decade for 15 years to know how to keep his new manga popular for at least 3-5 years, or to get it popular at least. The funny thing is I didnāt even know he started his new manga already, let alone even heard of it and it doesnāt get published that well, guess his incompetance is showing now.
The biggest irony about Nardoās character to me is how he swore to change the path of the ninjas and the world they live in and all that stuff in part 1. Yet, for the rest of the series heās following the same path, not showing any progress other than making ~le best friends~ and football speches (good or bad, in the end it was just words coming out of his mouth and no action taken). Another irony is how Sasuke ended up doing the thing the dumbass was established to do as the main character (donāt know how that happened), and the idiot ended up fighting against the most important thing he swore to do lol.
In fact, this whole time nardo didnāt do shit (if anything he was getting in the way), he was pretty much another side character with the difference being he had more screen time to not be considered one, he didnāt do anything the other characters canāt do, just training and going to missions while protecting his fucked up ninja system. Heās lucky his authorās writing is that shitty to not be centred around other characters besides him, otherwise he wouldāve been nothing different than his cast, there are other characters who wants to be hokage as well, there are other characters with some monsters inside them who also had a bad childhood, I think Gaara fits in all of them tbh and more points to him for not being a whining annoyance. We could just place Gaara as the main character and make Nardo play his āIrukaā role on him to change his wrong path then never show Nardo again and it wouldnāt be that different, because Nardo is nothing special. Also in no way him being from some wiped out clan is original, that was taken from Sasuke, kishi didnāt even planed that in part 1 or the first arcs of Shippuden but gotta give that idiot relevance somehow I guess (and everyone knows the āchosen oneā was just a pile of garbege, Iām not gonna bother) Nardo is the āmain characterā only by the title, I canāt stand him and I dislike him for being a waste of time.
If Kishi cared about his work and his characters (all of them) then maybe I wouldāve hated the idiot less, maybe I would had cared about his āreasonsā if he showed me he was trying, but turns out it wasanāt the case, if Kishi writes anymore manga in the future, good or bad, Nardo will remain in his agenda as a prove of disappointment and bad writing, and Iāll keep hatinā on him for that.
