Despite being a heterosexual relationship, Anakin and Padmé's relationship resonates with a lot of queer themes. They have both made their lives significantly harder by choosing each other (but have made that choice anyway because the thought of not being together is more painful), have to reckon with who is a safe person to tell the truth about themselves to, and can only really be their true selves when they're alone together. 'anakin puts padme on a pedestal' actually anakin is one of the very few characters who treats padme as a human and is willing to challenge her opinions and stand up for himself - see AOTC - and whilst he admires and cherishes and loves her and believes she is the best politician who ever existed, he still knows she is human and imperfect

Yes he raises her up, but what he’s doing is raising up the parts of Padmé that make her a person that get unfairly ignored, showing no favoritism to an elite and polished version of her senator self. That’s actually a very healthy attachment! (Also I’m on a mission to bring the phrase “healthy attachment,” which exists in every other space of the world, back to the Star Wars fandom where people trip over themselves to pretend that normal concept doesn’t exist)

He loves her! If people think it’s weird for people to care about someone as much as Anakin does then people have such low expectations of men that high ones scare them. No not every man who loves their wife is gonna become Darth Vader, is our representation of loving husbands that abysmally small?

And then one day this little twerp from the Outer Rim shows up with Anakin's face and Padme's heart and is like "yeah no mom was right, you're still good and I'll prove it to you :)"

padmé amidala was an incredibly intelligent, selfless, hard-working, altruistic, good hearted woman. her life passion was to do good, and strive for good. to make change for the people of the galaxy.

her mind was powerful. she was a massive thorn in palpatine's side, lead an entire planet as queen at the age of 14- chosen by the people of naboo. (they also tried to change the constitution to re-elect her, something her people wanted, not her.) she was willing to die for and with her people as queen. she was brave, and self-sacrificing when it came to her duty.

despite having her own wants, and dreams of a peaceful future, she became senator– because she felt that she carried the responsibility of the people. she was sensitive and aware of the corruption within the senate before most others, and helped birth what eventually became the rebel alliance.

she fought, she gave, she lost everything. what she worked for, believed in, her dreams, her love, her life/ future. all in the most terrible and heart shattering way. so heart breaking– that the heart break in itself, killed her. (while pregnant btw.)

her tragedy is just as heavy within the story, if not more than a lot of characters within star wars. just because we don't experience it strictly through her perspective, just because her husband made the choices he made, doesn't take away from any of that weight, or who she was.

Jake Lloyd was insanely adorable and I get intense cuteness aggression when I watch TPM. Seriously who were the demons that watched that movie and thought that a kid deserved to be harassed, he did such a good job. He was only one apple tall.
