The shop has just been updated. There are a lot of new things on all the bases. And yesterday the mini skein bundles were added so those are still available as well.

The shop has just been updated. There are 5 brand new Overwatch inspired colorways as well as a 3rd mini skein bundle inspired by this series. It was so much fun to make something new and get the creative juices flowing again.
This is likely the last update of the month. YarnCon is April 1-2 and I’ll be prepping for that for the next couple weeks. As a result of this, the shop will actually be closing on March 27th and will reopen the following week after the show. If any of will you be there please stop by and say ‘hi!’ I’d love to meet all of you.

Hey Everyone,
I’ve been thinking for a long time about having a “best of” set. These sets would be available both as mini skeins and full skeins (I’d likely limit this to 3-4 yarn bases). Because I have a tendency to make sets of 7, these would continue that trend.
Now, I have my idea on what I feel have been very popular colorways over the years but I’d love to get your input. I want this to be a community project. I really want to reconnect with all of you. To set some parameters I will limit the colorways available to nominate as those from the first 5 years, January 2011-2016, of Another Crafty Girl (so basically everything except the Overwatch series from last year). If people like these sets, maybe this is something we can visit again after the second 5 years. I hope I am still dyeing yarn when that time comes!
Feel free to browse my colorways page, sold items, or visit your stash and nominate your favorites here. Please nominate no more than 5 colorways. Letting me know if this is something you’d consider purchasing (or not) is also extremely valuable information. After we have a bunch of nominations, or a week or two has passed we will move on to a voting phase.
Additionally, I’d be super grateful if you could help spread the word if you want to see this come to fruition.

The shop has just been updated. There are lots of pretties to choose from including some Brite Mini Skein Bundles on Twinkle Sock (these would be great for our upcoming Mini-Skein-Along KAL). This will be the final update of the month. Also of note, the Etsy shop will be closing on Sunday morning, May 29th as I will soon be heading to Minnesota for the Zombie Knitpocalypse. Hope to see you all there.
The Upper-Left and Lower-Right colorways pictured above are new. They were actually dye accidents and they didn’t turn out exactly as planned but I liked them so much that I gave them names and have added them to my ever growing list of colorways.

shipping update
I finally updated my shipping prices to reflect the USPS increase that actually went into effect in Jan 2016. If you’ve been ordering from me since then you’ve gotten a discount.
Domestic Orders: Your shipping didn’t change too much. I still ship all of your orders insured, with orders of 4 or more skeins shipping Priority instead of First Class. The cost for one skein shipped went up $0.50 but the cost for each additional skein ordered went down $0.50 so depending on how many skeins you order it’s either more expensive or less.
International Orders: Yours changed A LOT more. Orders are still shipped First Class International. Cost for one skein has gone up across the board but for most countries 2-8 skeins ship for the same amount. Etsy does not have a good way for me to have that adjusted so you will received a shipping refund for any order of 3 or more skeins. Alternatively, you can contact me prior to purchasing and I can put together a custom order with the correct shipping already in place. Buyers are still responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
The shop will be updated at noon (central time) today! Alpaca Sock will be available for the first time online with this update (it made its debut at YarnCon earlier this month). There are also several mini skein bundles going up today in both Sesame Street sets as well as the Wreck It Ralph set. There are also several other pretties going up, some are pictured above.
If you’re wondering what that Alpaca Sock was that I mentioned earlier is, here are some more details: This is an incredibly soft 4 ply yarn that is a blend of superfine alpaca, superwash merino and nylon. This yarn is wonderful for socks, but would also be perfect for shawls and hats. As you can see from the photo, this yarn has a bit of a “hairy” halo to it, which so may find itchy but I’ve found it to be quite soft. It tends to take dye a little less vibrantly than my merino/nylon blends.
Weight: Fingering / 4 ply Fibers: 60% Superwash Merino / 20% Superfine Alpaca / 20% Nylon Yardage/Weight: approx. 437 yds / 100g Needle size: US 1 - 3 Hand wash/lay flat to dry.
As a disclaimer: If you have a severe allergy or sensitivity towards alpaca please execute caution. It is extremely likely that most of my non-alpaca yarns have likely come in contact with the alpaca yarn as dye pots, yarn rinses, drying racks, storage containers are all shared with all yarn bases.

I just made a small shop update. This will be the last update before YarnCon, which is April 2nd &3rd. Also, just as a heads up, I will be deactivating the shop that weekend but it will reopen shortly after the show once I take inventory.
The Shard KAL has started. There’s been some chatter so far but more is always welcome! I hope more of you will knit this awesome pattern. I really look forward to seeing everyone’s progress and finished shawls!

Hey Everyone!
I’m so thrilled to be hosting another KAL! It has been so long since the last one! This KAL is all about the pattern: Shard by Romi. It will be so fascinating to see all the different Shards made with Another Crafty Girl yarn. I so loved knitting mine and I really hope that you will too! I’m so happy to have an excuse to knit a second one.
This is a really unique pattern where you let the colors of the yarn dictate when you switch what you’re doing in the pattern. Because of this, it requires the yarn to be dyed in a certain way. I’ve gone through my entire book of yarn recipes and have found that I have almost 100 colorways that will work with this pattern. Here is a spreadsheet that lists all of my current colorways that will work. Hopefully, with that large of a list you can find something that will work in your stash. If not, and you want to special order something specific, please do so asap by using this link. My dyeing schedule is already planned through the month of March but I will try to squeeze any KAL requests in if possible.
Rules of the KAL:
Projects can already be started but must be finished and posted to the FO thread by April 30th.

quick update
The holidays have been busier than expected so instead of my next update being on the 4th it will be Jan. 11th instead. This is actually the anniversary of my shop, which is pretty cool and I’m excited to have an update on that day!

Tonight’s shop update will go live at 6pm central time. There are 9 new colorways, pictured above, all are inspired by various characters or settings from the 80s cartoon, Rainbow Brite.
