I Will Never Leave You - Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley, Side Show Workshop
There once was a time I listened to nothing but Side Show for a solid month. This is still perhaps my favorite version of this song because they are BABIES. The belting at the end sounds like two 12 year old boy sopranos (Emily, especially) (ONE THOUGH WE’RE TWO) and I am obsessed with it.

Aaron Tveit is fascinating. He has one of the best musical theatre voices I’ve ever heard on a man. Like ever. Not just in recent history. It is a remarkable instrument and even more impressive in person. But then as an actor he is.. weird. And he can be excellent in good shows (next to normal) and godawful shows (MR!). But then the majority of the time he is very bland. Absolute fucking wildcard.
And then 1/3rd of theatre gay guys my age had an awakening with him. He is still one of the hottest guys i can think of off the top of my head.
What a weird place in the zeitgeist.

Was listening to Sugar Daddy (from the Original Motion Picture soundtrack like the JCM fangirl i am) again and was reminded of how Hedwig sees power. She sees being desired sexually as power. That is her definition of control. Oh my GOD it's so fucked up. Because she, being basically groomed, believed the entire time that she was the powerful one, and she was the one calling the shots. IE: "He searches my face for news of his fate" "The thrill of control".
So she THEN PROCEEDS TO PROJECT THAT BELIEF ONTO TOMMY. she views Tommy instead of her as the one who holds the power in the relationship even though she fully does; far older than him and lashing out at him in anger. The whole time, she believed he was the one in control because she desired him. ghHGDHDHHFGGFRRGGRHHRH I NEED TO PUT HER. IN A FUCKING. BLENDER. MY SHITASS WIFE. JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
