Here’s something that I don’t think a lot of people get about ocs. Forgive me, it’s a rant. A LOT OF PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH WORK IT TAKES TO MAKE AN OC. It’s honestly like writing a book? It’s having a character and making that character fit into either an already pre-established world or MAKING THEIR OWN FROM FUCKING SCRATCH. Both are INSANELY difficult. Because with both, there is a pressure to ‘be authentic’, to ‘not be mary/gary sue’ and to ‘keep things interesting’. There’s a lot of authentic material to keep track of that is entirely made by the writer. Family. Extended family. Friends. NPCs, all of those people, they’re all made by one single person. The fact that you think that OCS could be inferior is mind boggling to me? People also don’t really realize that even canon characters are someone’s oc. I understand, I play canon characters too. I get it. I know that shit’s hard too, but imagine having to keep up with the current shit YOU’VE got and constantly be putting out more? It takes a lot. And most people are looking for men when they see ocs, so females DO get treated more badly. Tumblr really reflects society in that way. It sucks. But please, REMEMBER HOW HARD IT IS TO MAKE AN OC. If you hate them, maybe try making one yourself. See things through the other person’s perspective. And please remember, SO LONG AS YOU AREN’T HURTING ANYONE AND HAVING FUN, IT SHOULDN’T MATTER ANYWAY. If after you’ve taken everything into consideration and still hate ocs, great. Don’t follow them. Don’t send them hate, either. This shouldn’t be hard.

Emma smiled at seeing the grin on her daughter’s face as she texted her boyfriend. She loved seeing her so happy. As soon as the phone was in her hand she powered it off and stuck it in her pocket. She wouldn’t be snooping through it just because it was in her possession and having it off helped remove that temptation. She chuckled at Olivia’s agreement of her cool status. “Why do I get the feeling you want something from me, kid?”

    Olivia watched her mother put her cell into her pocket. She sighs at her question and offers her a soft smile. “I don’t want anything, ma.” she promises with a shake of her head. “I just wanted to thank you. I mean you didn’t have to be as cool as you are about this or anything really but you are and I love you for it. So yeah, thanks.”

Wyatt chuckled, “Well you should have thought of that while you were sneaking out. Either you face her now or you face her later. She isn’t going to let a good lecture go.”

   “I was a bit more worried about you than to think about Granny’s wrath but now I can see my mistake.” She replies with a soft huff as she crosses her arms over her chest. “Let’s get this over with.”

Becoming a Father

Dr. Porter glanced up from her clipboard with a smile, “That’s really good Liv.” She wrote down a few more things, “If everything seems to be working then I would suggest keeping up your routines and medications. If anything changes just give us a call and we will work her in. Otherwise, we will see you both in three months.” She told Wyatt.

The man gave Olivia a soft smile, “See. Not a bad trip.” He told her gently. “Why don’t you give that back to Dr. Porter so we can head up front to check out.” He lifted Olivia off the table so she could stand once more on the floor. He waited for her to give Dr. Porter the stethoscope back, then opened the door so they could head back down the hall. “Thank you, Dr. Porter.”

“Of course, it’s always a pleasure to see you both.”

   The small girl gives her doctor a toothy smile before she focused her attention back on the tool in her hands. She grins as she swished the stethoscope around and watched as the longer part swung around and hit at her thighs. It didn’t hurt that much so she kept swinging it around and staring at her reflection in the metal part.

    She glances up when her father spoke to her and she offered him a bright smile. “Kay.” She leans into him once he picks her up though she huffs as he places her down on her ground. She sticks out a small arm to hand the stethoscope back to the doctor with a smile. “T’ank you. Can I have a sticker?” Stickers were one of the best parts about coming to the doctor’s office and she hoped that she could have one.

Riley grins as sits down next to her wife, wrapping an arm around the other woman. “So, my love, the kids are at their abuela’s for the weekend, it’s just you and I… What do you wanna do first?” She asks, her head going to rest on Olivia’s shoulder.

    “Well, there’s a million things I’d love to do today but the first and most important would be to kiss my wife without having to worry about the twins or our daughter calling out ew.” She replies with a laugh before she moves in for a soft kiss.
