I LOVE HIM
Inspired by this post
Bulgaria just appointed a facist and neo-Nazi, Valeri Simeonov (who is also Deputy Prime Minister), to lead their council on how to âdealâ with the Romani people in Bulgaria.Â
Valeri Simeonov literally talked about creating modern concentration camps, and in 2016, when speaking of Bulgariaâs Roma minority, he told the parliament: âThey are brazen, feral, human-like creatures that demand pay without work, and collect sickness benefits without being sick. They receive child benefits for children that play with pigs on the street, and for women that have the instincts of stray dogs.â His party has literally called for the demolition of âGypsy ghettosâ and for Roma to be instead isolated in closed reservations that could âgenerate income as tourist attractionsâ
Asides from this Ilian Todorov from the far-right ATAKA party (ultranationalist, racist, especially antisemitic and anti-Roma, xenophobic, especially anti-Muslim and anti-Turkish) is now Bulgaria, Sofiaâs regional governor.Â
The opposition party, Yes Bulgaria, warned that this âtoxic national-populismâ can only divide society and âheighten the risk of stirring up ethnic enmityâ when we have already long gone past the âriskâ stage as proven by recent submissions of the European Roma Rights Center and the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee â Both reports detail recent violent events which include mass attempts to storm Roma neighbourhoods, an increase in hate speech, failures by the authorities to deal properly with racially motivated hate crime, as well as incidents such as the brutal assault in April by police of a Romani father and son outside the village of Bohot in Pleven province. The son sustained serious injuries, but his father died at the scene of this assault. The authorities justified the police action by claiming that the men were found in possession of stolen pesticides and had resisted arrest.
The former vice-deputy of the ATAKA party, went on TV to praise the police for âneutralising the two thieves,â for sending a clear message, and spreading the kind of fear that will cause âall crooks and thieves to lay down.â
The situation of Roma in Bulgaria is worsening. And if those events listed are not enough already Roma are still racially segregated in education and housing, being forcefully evicted and having their properties demolished as well.

Not for Sale [superduperhighschoolartist)
Luck isn't a talent. You can't improve it, you can't teach it to someone else, can't pass it down, you don't work for it. And that was exactly why he shouldn't be here, shouldn't be doing this. He wasn't a Super High School Level. Not even close. Nowhere near the level of Miss Tatsuya Emiko, the famous art prodigy. He actually found himself a little disgusted, letting such a skilled individual see his filthy sense.
What a terrible idea, what a hopeless task, how awful it was his inclusion in this project was even considered, let alone accepted. Sullenly, he raised a fist and rapped on the door to his partner's dorm room. Let's get this over with.

To Kill a Mockingbird [beforetheseasscent]
Touko gave a small, startled yelp and promptly fell over backwards, throwing a book sheâd been unpacking into the air in the progress, shielding her eyes.
Of course, sheâd been hoping for it, wishing for it, wanting it with all her soul, but, deep down, sheâd never believed heâd actually say yes, never believed anyone would actually agree to be friends with someone as disgusting and pathetic as she was, never believed he would actually be stupid enough to accept her friendship.
Looking up at him from the floor, she stammered, her eyes wide. âDâŚdid you really say that? We can be⌠f-friends?â
It took Komaeda a few moments to recover from the initial shock of seeing such a reaction, and then he was crossing the room and offering a hand to his new friend - that was definitely the sort of things friends did.
"We can, Fukawa-san, we really can." He tried his best to leave out any unpleasant, self-depreciative thoughts, and instead focused on making himself look as kind and wholesome and un-awful as possible. It was tragic enough she was so desperate for friendship she'd stoop to a person like him; he didn't want to make things any worse for her than they already were.
She already seemed so surprised that he'd said yes... if she didn't at least enjoy her time at this school, Komaeda thought he'd be very upset indeed.

Careful Where You Stand [Open]
Mahiru frowned thoughtfully. âThis camera has sentimental value, though. My mum gave it to me.â She closed her eyes, eyebrows drawing together as she thought it over, âThat and I donât want to lose the data installed on it already. Just be more careful next time, all right?âÂ
She took a moment to study him as he shook her hand. His hair was a bit wild⌠but he didnât seem too untidy, overall. That was a good sign, she supposed. He seemed rather average too and that managed to settle her worries of not being âextraordinaryâ enough among the ranks of some of the students with more extravagant titles. âItâs nice to meet you too, I guess.â
She pulled back a little, crossing her arms square across her chest as she watched him analytically, even a little pointedly. âThe worst of it might be minor bruising on my knees. Nothing I canât really handle.â She waved her hand dismissively, eyes squinting. âAnd it isnât polite to brush off the concerns of someone else! You may as well answer me when I offer you some concern, you know.â She looked him over once more for injury⌠he seemed fine, from the looks of it. But she just wanted to be sure.Â
Ah, of course it would... it wasn't very clever of him to overlook a problem like that, especially when he himself had a few items of such value. They were just pieces of junk, nothing as expensive as Koizumi's camera, but he'd definitely be upset if he were to lose them. Really was lucky that he'd done no damage, in the end.
The smile returned to his face, albeit softer. "Those are good points... I wasn't thinking, I'm sorry."
The way she was so kind to him was heartwarming. Even if she was kind of forward about it, that didn't matter - she cared, and although it was foreign to think someone cared about him, a complete stranger cared about him, it was nice.
He owed her the truth. "I think I'm fine now, it's very nearly stopped hurting, I assure you, but it was quite a lot earlier."
To Kill a Mockingbird [beforetheseasscent]
Touko knew that this boy was unhinged. She knew that he was perverted and creepy. But he was so kind, he was so open, he seemed so honest, and she knew that if he detested her he would just say it, and that gave her hope.
She took a deep breath, steeling herself and quickly stammered out the words before she could rethink it. âKâŚKomaeda⌠do you think we could beâŚfriends?â the last word was squeaked out, barely audible.
"Wh...what..?!" He was so surprised he stood up, forgetting the article of clothing on his lap. With a soft rustle, it fell to the floor, but he ignored it in favour of slapping a hand to his chest.
"Friends? You... a person like you wants to be friends with a wretch like me?" It was incredible, unbelievable, unthinkable... but the more he dwelled on it, the more he thought he liked the idea. His first friend here, and not just that, his first friend who wanted to be his friend. He wasn't just smiling now, he was glowing.
"Fukawa-san, I'd love to."
Darkly Dreaming [gemofnovoselic]
Sonia only smiled kindly and shook her head. âPlease, by all means, it is yours. As you can see,â She chuckled, âI have plenty to last me for a few days,â
That said, Sonia shifted the books in her arms some to get them in a more comfortable position, and in the process ended up dropping two of them to the ground.
Looking, at first, silently at the fallen goods then back up to the boy, then back to the books, she couldnât help but giggle.
"If you do not mind?" Sonia asked, biting her lip.
No, he didn't mind at all, and quite happily crouched down to retrieve the books, unable to help himself from glancing at the covers. He'd read this author before. It was nice to have found someone with similar tastes!
When he held them out to her, it was with a little nod, indicating he was referring to the novels in his hand. "You like them too? That's surprising - they're not very well-known."
This girl has to like reading, look at how many books she's got, and she was pleasantly polite. Seemed like just the sort of person he'd get along with.
Careful Where You Stand [Open]
Mahiru raised an eyebrow at him before bringing herself up to her feet, brushing her clothes off until the creases were smoothed and then folded her arms square across her chest. âThankfully my camera wasnât broken.â She mused, sighing and shaking her head. Her eyes narrowed. âBut you need to watch where youâre going next time! That could have been a lot more disastrous!â
Nevertheless, he said he was sorry and this was clearly an accident. So she offered him her hand. He looked a little on the average side himself, so that helped to ease a few of the worries sheâd had previously. âNow, are you all right?â She inquired, looking him over with sharp eyes, though the subtlest hint of concern could be seen lingering in her expression if you looked close enough. âMy name is Mahiru Koizumi. And you are?âÂ
It was almost impossible for her to recognize what his talent might have been at first glance. She waited for his response, silently analyzing him all the while. She couldnât help but act this way around guys, though.
He clapped his hands together, as if amused by the notion. At least she was looking on the upside of the situation. "I don't think it would've been that bad. The least I would've done was pay for repairs, or bought you a new one."
Komaeda wasn't exactly short of money; he'd've been very happy to help out a Super High School Level. Especially if he was to blame, and following that train of thought, he was actually a little regretful he had nothing to do for her.
"Komaeda Nagito," he shook her hand and introduced himself. "A pleasure to meet you, Koizumi-san. Forget about how I am - are you alright? Is there anything I can do for you?"
He felt fine, anyway. His head hurt, but it was already wearing off, and it wasn't as if he minded the pain. How kind of her to even ask, though, concerning herself with the wellbeing of a lesser individual!

Careful Where You Stand [Open]
Mahiru knew that she shouldnât be spending her first day at school lying flat on the floor of her dorm. It was pathetic. But the thought of getting up and exploring made her stomach twist and turn. This place was⌠intimidating. Filled with people who were a bit uncommon, people who had extraordinary talents that stuck out compared to âphotographerâ. She loved being a photographer, she really did. But she felt a bit plain, out of place.
The redhead played with her tie, mesmerized like a cat with a ball of yarn, and then cast a wary glance at the photos she had pinned up on her side of the dorm room. She was all settled in, bag unpacked and camera equipment set up on her desk. She had no business moping inside these four walls when she could be out meeting her classmates.
She finally assembled enough will-power to pull herself back up on her feet. She turned her head and squinted at herself in the mirror on the wall. 'You're being ridicules.' She thought to herself critically before retrieving her camera from her desk and shouldering the strap.Â
Mahiru took a deep breath and exited her room. Her door didnât do so much as âclickâ as it shut before she was smacked into from behind and subsequently knocked onto her hands and knees. Her cheeks flamed a shade that rivaled the color of her hair, a rushed and frustrated, âH-hey!â escaping her lips as she checked to see if her camera survived the fall. She tested the buttons on the side and sighed with relief when it responded normally. Still on the floor, she checked over her shoulder to see who it was that knocked her off her feet. âYou need to be more careful!â
Komaeda slammed into the door with a grunt, flung one arm out to find the wall, steadying himself, basking in the way his head pounded before it occurred to him maybe he hadn't hit a door at all. A person, and when her words begun to make sense in his mind, it was a person who wasn't very happy with him at all.
Rubbing at his forehead with his free hand, he mumbled "I'm sorry about this, miss," and then repeated it a little louder, and then added something about this being unlucky for the both of them. He wasn't aiming for her at all.
If he'd had timed it right (although for someone as incompetent as him this was all down to luck) he would've walked into the door just as she opened it, and maybe even she could've gone on her way without knowing what happened. It was actually kind of embarrassing that things played out this way, and so a sheepish smile crept onto his face.
As the boy reached out and touched him, Togami jerked his arm back not wanting any physical contact. "Don't touch me." He said with a sneer. "I don't want your filthy germs all over my suit." He would have moved seats so as to avoid being anywhere near the boy, but he had found that the seat had been comfy and didn't have much other reason to move. But that didn't mean he couldn't lean away from him. As the white haired boy spoke, he tried to think if he in fact, had heard the name Komaeda before, but as he expected it brought up no memories. "You most certainly are not special." Not many people in Togami's mind were. Though it was some sort of strange and deluded relief to hear that someone in this school had finally heard of him, it didn't seem to be a good thing from looking at the shaking boy. "How do you know me, by chance?"
Not just talented, but knowing, too! Togami seemed to have a clear view of the way things stood around here, and for this, Komaeda was so grateful he couldn't help but smile with appreciation as he drank in the blonde's words. A welcome change from the people who liked to insist he wasn't worthless.
"You say that as if there are people who don't know you, Togami-kun." He wasn't sure if this was some sort of trick question... there existed people who hadn't, in one way or another, heard of the Togami Conglomerate? It was hard to imagine, especially in a school where everyone was on a higher level than the average highschooler.
To Kill a Mockingbird [beforetheseasscent]
Touko smirked and blushed slightly when he complimented her books. They were the one aspect of Touko, the only thing about her that she was proud of.
She noted in the back of her mind how he differentiated between talent and hard work, although it didnât seem to be anything meaningful. His compliments on her books just made her want to be his friend more, but of course she didnât want to say anything, because she knew heâd hate her for wanting to talk to him, hate her for being disgusting and filthy.
"YâŚyou really think Iâm talented? YâŚyouâre not just saying that to try and trick me into trusting you?" Truth be told, despite the unhinged look of his smile, despite the insane glint in his eye, Touko could feel herself beginning to trust her roommate already.
God damn it Fukawa-san of course you're talented why else would you be at Hope's Peak??? Komaeda frowned, and tugged at a strand of hair in thought. What could be done to make his roomie less paranoid of everyone? He'd never had such problems himself. I mean, sure, people didn't like him, but there was a reason for that.
"I really, honestly do think you're talented," he answered. "You don't have to trust me, by any means, but I have proof: you wouldn't be here if you weren't good at what you did."
Two Guys [that's hajime-sama to you punk]
One minute it seemed as if Komaeda was on the verge of tears, the next minute he was smiling. Hinata just stared at him surprised, a bit taken back. What did he just say. He didnât know how to even properly respond to that; all he could do was just stare at the guy.
"What place? Itâs not okay that I hit you.â That was all he could manage to say. Why would someone be so happy about something? A normal reaction would to be furious, shocked, or  sad; not happy.
Talent-y thing. He continued to stare at the white-haired boy, totally unsure about what to do. How did someone show off their talent? Did Hinata just have to hope for something⌠would that count as to showing off his talent?
Deciding to do something, he quickly patted Komaeda on the shoulder and said, âI hope you have a good day.â That was the closest thing he could do âshowing offâ his so-called talent, hope.
He couldn't help but laugh - the answer should be clear, especially to someone like Hinata - and pointed an index at some empty spot on the ground, stuffing his other fist into his pocket.
"What place?" he repeated. "Down there, of course! Below you is where I truly belong, Hinata-kun. Please, if I ever overstep my boundaries, feel free to correct me. I'd actually prefer you did."
Komaeda tacked on a grin to the end of that sentence. Hinata was a good guy; he'd have to really drill it in it was alright for him to be put down in any way.
There were more important things in the world right now, though: hope. When Hinata said that one little sentence, even touched him, his hands snapped back to his pseudo-self-hug, one gently rubbing where Hinata's hand had been moments before.
That couldn't be it, he.. he was greedy and selfish and awful, but he had to know more, see more hope. "Th...thank you! Thank you so much!! Hoping for something like that for a person like me... you really are kind, Hinata-kun."
To Kill a Mockingbird [beforetheseasscent]
Sitting on her bed in a comfortable position, relaxing slightly, she nervously avoided looking at him. Now, she admittedly wanted to be his friend, but she was not exactly an expert on befriending people.
When he began to unpack, Touko realized that it would probably be a good idea to do the same, gingerly taking items out of her luggage one by one. âMâŚmost people donât think I deserve anythingâŚ" she muttered in a gloomy tone of voice.
When he mentioned reading she clasped her hands. âYâŚyes. of course, what kind of world-renowned author doesnât like to read? Thatâs a stupid question to askâŚ"
He chose not to grace her self-depreciation with his acknowledgement, and dropped a shirt in his lap so he could stop and smile at her.
"No, I thought you did. I enjoy reading, too! Most of it isn't on the level of your talent, of course, but I can appreciate hard work."
Flattery would hopefully get him on good terms, at least. It wasn't as if he expected someone so great to want to be friends with him. Although Fukawa looked as if she couldn't hurt a fly, it was nice to have a safe dormitory environment.
