{Upon reformation, Xehanort found he could no long shelter himself from the consequences of his actions in the delusions his ambitions built for him. The fact that power had ultimately failed him destroyed the unwarranted self importance that lead him to treat other’s like tools. 

Xehanort now has to live among the many who’s lives he’d torn apart, in the worlds he’d ravaged, and he can’t make any of it right. }

{When Xehanort saw the time traveling Sora in Scala ad Calem (i may be misspelling it but to hell with latin) he knew he lost. He knew Sora jumped back in time after defeating him to rescue Kairi.

In fact, he knew sooner than that moment that he’d lost. When Terranort encountered Sora in the dusty wastes, he realized his plans hadn’t come to fruition.  

And when that moment came, when Sora struck him down once and for all. He knew he could save Sora from disappearing after trying to save Kairi. All he had to do was relinquish the pieces of Kairi he had shattered. 

If he had done this, Kairi would have been able to return home with her friends. Sora wouldn’t have had to take a dangerous journey back in time and destroy himself trying to save her. 

But he didn’t. 

He lost. What should have been rightfully his was stolen. The knowledge and power he sought was denied to him again and again, by one child with a heart of gold. In a final act of defiance, he set his sight on something else he could take. And to take this, all he had to do was nothing at all.}

{ It’s divergencies time. I guess I have to make a divergencies page for THIS MUSE too.

Spoilers for Dark Road Ch 1. 

Fuckin’. Okay. So YEAH A VERY UNEXPECTED DEPARTURE THANKS NOMURA WE GET IT. 

My gut feeling is that they’re going to use this as Xehanorts “tragic backstory” that caused him to turn to darkness. No. I refuse. Sora was tormented his entire childhood and is still a soft babie cinnamon roll who can do no wrong. He’s a good boy and Xehanort is a garbage grandpa (and i love them both very much)

Instead, my interpretation is that Xehanort sees his dead friends and interprets that to mean he survived because he was stronger than them. He had the strength, the cunning, the POWER to overcome what they couldn’t.  

Yes, he mourned them, but their deaths didn’t drive him to become a power hungry maniac. He was already a power hungry maniac, and surviving what they couldn’t only validated that.}
