Hi!!! In the spirit of your vampire snippet, here's a bit of a spooky jendo fic I've been playing with (I haven't decided if the vampires are literal or figurative yet, but the vibes are there!)
This time, though, a different shadow caught his eye: a figure stumbling out of an alleyway and collapsing to the sidewalk, coughing dark liquid onto the pavement. Jenson had come across beggars and street urchins on these voyages, but none so well-dressed, or with hair in perfect, styled curls. In his labored dry heaving, the taut snap of his musculature suggested a vigorous gym routine; the deep arch of his back as he fell to all-fours pointed towards pilates.
Jenson had prayed someone else would come running to save the boy, curious how he got there or where they might take him, but in their absence, he decided the responsibility fell to him. He still has a heart after all, dormant though it may be.
The boy was unresponsive until Jenson crept close enough to crouch and put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you," Jenson said as the boy's head whipped up like a spooked deer. "Do you need a ride, or an ambulance…?"
"No! No hospitals!" he demanded, clutching Jenson's wrist, wild emerald eyes brimming with terror.
Jenson conceded, wiping the blood from the boy's mouth with his sleeve so he wouldn't stain the Range Rover's leather seats.
"Thank you," Lando muttered, once Jenson turned off the highway and into the hills. "I'll be out of your hair in the morning."
"Happy to help," Jenson replied easily, as casually as he might to a little old lady after grabbing a can off the highest shelf for her.
The bleeding had stopped, so Jenson figured a shower and a decent night's sleep would set him right, and he certainly had the facilities for it. He could thank the boy for testing the water in the fourth guest bedroom's en suite.
