Hey, everyone. Last night I finally got around to doing something I've been meaning to do for a long time: I wrote about my abusive relationship. I found a lot of closure while writing this piece, and it would mean a lot to me if you read and shared it.
The Official Cessation of "Anti-Choice Screencaps"
Today, December 8th 2013, marks the end of Anti-Choice Screencaps.
The decision to leave ACSC is not an easy one. I created this blog over a year ago to expose the true nature of the anti-choice community. I aimed to educate, enrage, and inspire. You probably noticed that I stopped being active back in October of this year. I have taken this time off to think about my values, emotions, and plans for the future. I realized that I no longer have the means to keep ACSC running.
ACSC will remain up, so you may freely reblog content. I may, on occasion, respond to messages in the inbox. However, I encourage you to email me if you have any questions, comments, or stories. I may be reached at [email protected].
I sincerely hope that this blog has helped you learn, grow, and change for the better. I will miss you all. Keep fighting. This war is not over.
i've had two abortions, both pregnancies were the results of rape. I worked with a SLA so i would not need my parents consent as i was 12/15 at the times of the procedures. both times when i went into the clinics i was harassed and screamed at by anti-choicers, the first time one man tried to grab me and bodily take me away from the clinic. it just goes to show that they really don't care about children after birth.

I was attacked for being a monotheist and attemting to honor Savita's memory and be prochoice. I was also blamed for her death because my beliefs allegedly cause her death when they did not. I have been prochoice for a while now, and I feel hurt by what these people said to me. Do you believe that theists of any flavor can be prochoice and honor Savita's memory?

I don't know when life begins or ends anymore, to tell you the truth. But science will tell you that "life" begins at conception and ends at death.

I have Nexplanon, and I absolutely love it. Besides some spotting during the first year and infrequent/missing periods, it's been wonderful and problem-free.

An anti-choicer asking me an inappropriate question and then saying that abortion is "sacrificing a child to yourself" and "oppression". As a transman, using the term "oppression" to describe someone exercising bodily autonomy sickens and offends me.
I've noticed most anti-choicers' main argument is that women who have an abortions are "still parents, just to a 'dead baby'" and are "killing cells that once held life." All cells once held life. No one gets lynched for exfoliating.

So I got a condescending asshole in my inbox talking about an old screencap about a woman opting out of giving birth at a hospital and how it's totally fine to not go to a hospital since midwives are so much better. I'm fairly certain the screencap in question mentioned squatting in an elevator and giving birth, and I guess that now somehow equals giving birth at home with a team of expensive personal doctors on standby.
A pro-lifer thinks that it should be mandatory to show abortion footage to the public.
