I feel like we should support sai and clip since those are fairly cheap programs with a one time payment, which also arguably work better than any adobe program. (clip has a big sale several times a year, where it only costs 20 bucks) Adobe is a big company with pretty shit programs that you need to pay way too much for compared to what you get for it. You cant even properly zoom in or out in photoshop, its insane.

the amount of representation for people of color in the alternative scene is really... im not even sure what to say but its almost nonexistent and i gotta say im not a fan!

nobody ever straight up says it but being emo or punk or goth is seen as a White Thing and i absolutely hate it. people of color are already underrepresented all the time and making alternative look like a white thing is... not good, to say the least.

there are so many alternative music artists of color out there and there are masterposts made listing them but can you believe it? theyre so underrated and nobody talks about them so people have to make articles and posts to give them recognition because people of color trying to pursue something that big are never recognized?

im literally mexican but ive been lectured by a white person trying to tell me that no, actually, punk's history isnt about minorities. white goths are straight up racist when they make their skin extremely pale and talk about how it's the epitome of goth beauty. etc etc.

you look up emo and all the pictures are white kids. you look up scene and all the pictures are white kids. you look up absolutely any alternative subculture and all the people in the pictures are white. if you want to find images of alternative fashion with models of color you have to specify because white is the default.

every single day i have to remind myself that alternative isnt a white thing. i have to remember that being nonwhite is exactly one of the reasons why im into this in the first place.

tl;dr people of color into the alternative scene are so alienated from the whole thing and are never represented so it's seen as a white thing and it sucks!

Yea outside of TBBT he’s been a huge queer advocate, and shuts down homophobic bullshit. Like for example when Love, Simon came out and everyone was like “don’t we have enough of this/isn’t it too late for this?” He was like “do you people say that about every straight rom com that comes out??”

Plus his work outside of TBBT has mostly BEEN queer shit, including being in a movie about how shit the government was in regards to the AIDS crisis.

TBBT was his big break, he was a nobody before it. And unfortunately he got stuck with it for a while. Although he wasn’t afraid to use his newfound fame for a good purpose. And now that he’s free of it? We’re only gonna see more of his queer activism side.
