you guys don’t want to admit it but most ships are shipped purely because it’s male and male or female and female.

if a male SA’s a female in a story he’s hated on and called disturbing and a creep (rightfully so). but if a male SA’s another male (targeting manwahs) suddenly it’s okay, sexy, “complex”, and doesn’t matter.

if a male hasn’t interacted with a female much or even once people won’t even think about it. but if a male doesn’t interact with another male or barely does, suddenly they have hidden “lore” or “look good together”.

if a male is enemies with a female, it wouldn’t be thought of too much. if a male is enemies with a male, suddenly it’s enemies to lovers, doomed yaoi, or extremely sexualized.
