Get over it and start spending your Sundays (or Saturdays!) more productively than wishing the world into a nicer place. There is a growing popularity in the teachings of Science, and Atheism is on the rise. The Big Bang and Evolution through natural selection are two theories now commonly held to be accurate. This paradigm shift has led to a upsurge in fundamentalist beliefs and hatred towards Atheists. We are now leading the charge of the Antitheists, those who actively oppose Religion's oppressive role in society.

Hey! I was searching for images on google and stumbled upon the picture of the girl with the tattoo of an upside down cross with "there is no god" written underneath. I don't know if you're aware, but the inverted cross is a symbol for St. Peter; traditionally thought to have been martyred on a cross this shape because he believed he wasn't worthy to be crucified in the same was as Jesus. The upside down cross is featured on many clerical vestments, especially in the Catholic Church. When I saw that tattoo I was wondering why an anti-theist would choose to adorn herself with an image of Christian humility. I understand that some have tried to use the symbol as an anti-religious one; but there's history there that's deeper than just turning a religious symbol on it's head. Just letting you know in case you weren't already aware (in the event that this is your tattoo). I'd hate for someone to see it and put you in the awkward position of trying to reconcile the opposing meanings of the symbol on the spot before having thought it out before hand. Take care!

In more modern popular culture the symbol has become an anti-christian one, we understand your point of view, but symbols change meaning. If anything we hope people do raise the controversy in conversation with the person in question (we don't know them!), as good conversation and debate about such things are an important part of the human experience!

Why Do Theists/Religionists Dislike #Atheists?

#Atheists are unilaterally hated and loathed, feared and mistrusted by Theists, Religionists, Creationists or whatever they like to call themselves. Why is it? What have we done?

Well if truth be told, it's very much like a world full of people who don't open their eyes because centuries before they were told they had to for some reason. The majority of people obey and are therefore blind people. Then they are being told that some amongst them can actually see the world around them. These people who can see, make observation of the world and report their findings to the blind majority, but of course they can't tell whether they're being lied to, so assume that they are. They ignore all they are told by these "sighted" people and choose to live as they always have, with the tips of their fingers guiding their way. They fear the sighted ones as they have the power to open their eyes, they realise that they could follow suit, but decide not to out of fear.

This is the situation. This is the reason that we still have religion, and why those religious people still fear an loathe us.

Automating Our Twitter Account :(Sadface)

Due to an overwhelming volume of correspondence with people who assume that they know our every opinion and motive before they have even asked for or read it; we have taken the decision to fully automate our Twitter account. The account was already semi-automatically retweeting any tweets mentioning #Atheism, #Atheist or #NoGod, the algorithm used Yahoo pipes and twitterfeed and is relatively straightforward to set up.

We are now going to use tumblr as our primary method of spreading the antitheist sentiment (OMFG CONSPIRACY agenda!!1!) to the Atheist/Agnostic/Skeptic/Freethinking/Bright community. We do not want to and have not or will not communicate with anyone of any religious persuasion in any attempt to change them or diminish their faith. We are not interested in debating; creationists, fundamentalists, or apologists, about the existence of any or all particular god/gods.

As stated we wish to encourage people with no faith to openly show contempt for all religious faith. We want to show the damage that faith does, and how we can't allow it to control our lives any more! Science is imperative to Humanity's advancement, and the further development of civilization. Religion is a threat to this.

This is a simple message, please spread it for the love of Science!
