Until you heal the wounds of your past, you are going to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex; but eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories, and make peace with them.

The second one is VERY important; *** being ostracized is more mentally damaging than being bullied. ***
Don’t know how many ways I can say this; being told “go away”, ignored completely when you speak, being chosen last for teams all say “you are worthless to us”
Kids think they are being nicer by not picking on someone that annoys them, and they are right. However, at least when a child is being picked on, however horribly, it means their existence has been noticed and has caused a reaction.
The cool kids hate it when the teachers pick the teams or assign students to work together in group. The ostracized kids are always relieved (of course by this point many would rather work alone after years of being rebuffed).
We need to teach our children not only to not bully and belittle, but to also be inclusive; to respond in some sort of non-negative way to kids they would rather ignore. It’s not easy, but being told by a peer that they are worthy of positive notice could improve - and maybe even save - a life.

Dear teen girls,
Stop abusing your boyfriends and yes what you are doing is abuse.
Stop:
Yelling at him in front of his friends
Hitting or slapping him when he does or says something you don’t like
Telling him he doesn’t have a choice when it comes to decisions that involve both of you
Telling him he can’t hang out with friends because you don’t like him
Telling him to not talk to other girls even if they are his friend
Forcing him to spend every moment with you
Belittling him and pointing out all his flaws
Calling him stupid or making fun of him for making a mistake
Threatening to break up with him if he doesn’t do what you want
Being emotionally manipulative and crying until he does what you want
Accusing him of cheating every time he’s not with you
Blow up is phone if he doesn’t text you every five minutes
Telling him you are the must thing that has ever happened to him and no one else will love
Physically attacking him when ever you are mad
Forcing him to have sex despite that fact that he said he didn’t want to
Invading his privacy by going through his phone
Getting mad at him for changing his password and demanding he tell you what it is
If a guy did any of these things to a girl it would be considered abuse but since its the other way around its considered normal. Throughout High school I saw many girl treating their boyfriends like shit. Sometime even physically abusing them in the hallways and no one trying to stop it because its a girl attacking a boy.
Boys: If your girlfriend does anything on this list leave her. It is abuse and you deserve better.
Girls: if you find your self doing anything on this list to your boyfriend you need to knock it off because you are being abusive.
Story time: I have a friend, let’s call him K.
K dated the most fucked up girl ever. Was his first girlfriend. She did at least ¾ of these things to him all the time. My conversation with him pretty much led to him not believing that it was abuse. His reasoning was that it was because you have to just “let girls do what they want to you (as a guy)” and then he asked me “isn’t this just what girls do? Isn’t this normal? It’s in the movies all the time”
He literally thought that because you see this stuff happen to guys in movies and that it’s portrayed as comical, that it was normal. It’s NOT normal. Don’t ever think it is.
After explaining that no real girlfriend should ever do this and that relationships were based on mutual trust and respect instead of power imbalances and fear, he broke down crying because he finally understood that he was being abused for like a full year.
In short, he thought that it was supposed to be “cutesy” to have her blow his phone up with texts, know all his passwords, and thought it was normal to feel trapped and unable to hang with his other friends (regardless of their gender), all because people and the media told him so. He’s since left her thank god.
Girls can be abusive too. The media and most people these days say you need to be delicate with girls and let them do whatever they want to you or else you’re a bad person. The media also says that guys can’t be abused and any abuse shown towards guys is generally somehow found as funny/used for humor. Ignore this media bullshit. If your girlfriend does any of this stuff, she’s probably going to get worse with time and is abusive.
