Every midwit literary fiction novel from the past 5 years has been called something like The Little Things We Do To Ourselves or Back Then I Didn’t Think So Clearly or I Have Been Trying To Venmo You.
I'm gonna write poetry about it
At least it's a short ride

I see so many prankers go way too far, ending up harming people, but this one, this is an innocent good prank 😌
It's a Potato
Fink: Okay, what does "A" stand for?
Jaron: Arson.
Tobias: what does "C" stand for?
Jaron: Committing arson.
Amarinda: ..."D"?
Jaron: Don't come near me, I'm going to commit arson.
Jaron: 🙂
reblog to give the person you reblogged this from a sword
oh yeah have i ever told yall of the academic war i have been an unwilling soilder in for the past two years
okay SO. i have two professors that both teach this one subject, but different classes. they have different last names, so i didnt know this at first and espically since they are academic RIVELS at my school, but they are MARRIED. but for the past 8 years they have been in an academic WAR of geospatical sciences data. more accurately, the raster vs vector data debate. i am personally on the side of "both have their pros and cons and can be utalizied to the utmost efficency" but both professors are like, DEADLOCKED in insistanting one is better then the other
so, professor A is my mentor. i like him a lot, and he was the main person that taught me the most abotu Eris and ArcGIS. professor B is a professor i had one for class, and shes nice and knows a lot of little tricks about Eris programming but mostly relies on arcMAP because shes the raster data professor.
and THESE MOTHERFUCKERS. have written no less then 30 papers that is basically like a "re: re: re: re: re: re: vector data is better then raster fuck you" but like, Professionally. and they leave stupid notes in the footnotes that read "Reguardless of Professor A's opinions reguarding the efficency of Vector data, Raster data has a more efficant polygon computing rate and is the most commonly used program on interplantaring mapping" and its HILARIOUS
ive read all of their papers, and its basically like reading an email chain between a married couple arguing over the colors of the kitchen backsplash for their new home. its HILARIOUS. but obviously, because of their differnet last names and because they act like they HATE each other, NOT VERY MANY PEOPLE REALIZES THEYRE MARRIED
until like LAST WEEK
professor B publishes a paper that casually drops the word "husband"
and obviously all the students are like "oh i didnt know u were married!" because we read that shit like how white suburban mothers read People Magazine
and shes like "yeah, its Professor A"
and we all FLIPPED. THE FUCK. OUT
we thought the framed picture of the two of them on professor A's desk was ironic because hes that type of guy
like, you gotta undestand. these two have gotten into YELLING matches in hallways. these two refuse to go onto trips with each other. but apparently they have a system where they quite LITERALLY leave all of their work at work and drive home in seperate cars and literally NEVER mention work at home. it is SO funny

How traditional pitchforks were made.
It took 6 years starting from orienting branches
I love this so much
I would very much like to have one of these.
Writers?
If you have a chance, help preserve this nearly forgotten knowledge in your stories somewhere!
Wooden pitchforks are a bit safer than metal ones (little fear of rust causing lockjaw/death if you get poked), and when they’re grown like this, they’re far sturdier in many ways than anything assembled that isn’t metal...and they’re often lighter / better balanced than metal, too!
when your pet comes to you from another room, the preceding moments meant that they were alone somewhere and thought about YOU, an animal brain literally thought about you and came to you to see what you were doing. that’s love, unconditional.
Yelp is crazy unethical. Even before I heard about this nonsense, I worked at a small business in San Francisco whose customer traffic was directly influenced by their cesspool of a site.
Anyway, my supervisor and I worked hard to make sure every customer was happy. And we were succeeding! We had a perfect 5 star rating on Yelp! It was amazing! Then one day we got a 1 Star Rating on our Yelp Page. Someone from Pennsylvania left a nasty review on our site. It was scathing.
Now, that’s not something that’s too far out of the realm of possibility for my job. While I sold mattresses in a brick and mortar, we also sold mattresses via Amazon and our online store and people from all over the country purchased mattresses from us. But I digress. The reason this is important is, well, where it gets dicey for Yelp. Because sure enough, Yelp sent us an email telling us that if we paid some fee they would push all the bad reviews off the site. They were extorting money out of us!
And here’s where it gets really interesting. My supervisor contacted the customer to see if there was anything we could do to make them happy with their purchase, so they can change their review. But the customer in question had literally never heard of our company and obviously never purchased anything from us.
Yelp literally committed fraud, and it was only when we threatened to sue that they took the fraudulent review off of our page.
Yelp is awful.
I worked for a solar company (smaller, not one of the big national ones) and my friend worked in marketing, so part of that was looking over the Yelp reviews and reaching out to people. Someone left this scathing one star review for us, but the person wasn’t a customer. The working theory around the office was it was a fake by a competitor or just a really confused person. But because it was bad the head-honchos got on my friend’s ass to get in touch with Yelp to get it removed or whatever. I think they ended up paying to have it moved or did some incentive with customers to get them to flood the page with 5 stars to balance it out. The way that Yelp scams is gross.
actually i can’t find the link but a bunch of social scientists were like … hmmm about this. And they created a fake frozen yogurt shop with a random address typed into google (i think it was a NJ city) and sure enough 1 star and 2 star reviews came pouring in about how their frozen yogurt was melted, or tasted bad or there were rats but the place never existed :)
this is from a town in spain that in San fermines instead of bulls uses a giant ball and its so funny watching it on tumblr

Blood is thicker than water The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.
Meaning that relationships formed by choice are stronger than those formed by birth.
Let’s not forget that “Jack of all trades, master of none” ends with “But better than a master of one.”
It means that being equally good/average at everything is much better than being perfect at one thing and sucking at everything else. So don’t worry if you’re not perfect at something you do! Being okay is better!
These made me feel better
Also, “great minds think alike” ends with “but fools rarely differ”
It goes to show that conformity isn’t always a good thing. And that just because more than one person has the same idea, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea.
what the fuck why haven’t i heard the full version to any of these
“Birds of a feather flock together” ends with “until the cat comes.”
It’s actually a warning about fair-weather friends, not an assessment of how complementary people are.
I’ve always felt like these were cut down on purpose.
I really like these phrases and plan on spreading this knowledge.
The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
I want to make designs out of these.
Funny how all the half-finished ones encourage uniformity and upholding the status-quo, while the complete proverbs encourage like…living exciting, eclectic lives driven by choice and personal passion.
i learnt the great minds think alike one years ago from this post and i started saying it and i’m not exaggerating when i say the amount of people i’ve indirectly thought the correct thing who are all amazed at it and some even continue to use it is really cool
@hellsite-hall-of-fame if you don’t have this already, then what are you doing?
