Missing those Alaska mountains while down in central Cali but getting excited to head back north in a few months!!Â
ALASKA
I broke my camera and I have no internet but here are some pictures from the Brooks Range and the North Slope of Alaska! I’ve been spending a whole lot of time on the Dalton Highway and playing with moose. ALSO: I’m heading to SE Asia for 9 weeks this fall!Â
Life is beautiful.
It’s a little different in Alaska than in North Dakota, I guess.Â
I’m still getting over the fact that I actually live and am getting paid to work in Alaska right now. What a dream.
Denali National Park
Currently working 15min from the park and living only 2 hours away. I’ve been in Fairbanks for three weeks now and have already done two weekend trips to this paradise.Â
Pro-tip: If you go to Denali before the road is fully open (May 20th) you can drive down to mile 30 and then bike as far as you’d like with no other traffic to hinder your progress.
2,900 miles later
Two beautiful weeks camping through British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon Territory and Alaska were absolutely unreal. We saw bison and elk and bear and sheep and moose and barely any humans during many parts of our trip as we drove long stretches through some of the most beautiful parts of North America.
The people were kind (one bed & breakfast owner even letting us camp in their yard and use their shower since we couldn’t find open camping anywhere else), the car snacks were delicious (5 bags of goldfish and endless Tim Hortons, anyone?), and the local beer wherever we went was delicious (Yukon Brewing, yeaaaaaah).Â
I <3 Canada. I <3 Alaska.
The right way to roadtrip and the right way to take advantage of 70 degree April weather in Jasper National Park.

Currently camping my way from Seattle to Fairbanks for two weeks. Canada is A++++.
Southern Oregon, dream come true
Last weekend I spent a weekend of 80 degree weather and sunshine with two friends and a dog exploring the southern Oregon wilderness. We were gifted the feeling of invincibility with a chainsaw and a lifted Jeep and were able to escape from civilization for a couple days.
What a beautiful world. We even stumbled upon the worlds largest Sugar pine (top right).
Surprise!
I’m moving to Fairbanks at the end of April!
Goodbye North Dakota, hello Alaska.
