Anvanya gasps and freezes and the apple she held drops from her dainty hand in shock at the boy’s words. She turns her head and stares at him, her face drained of all color and her blue eyes losing all their radiance almost going black as anger fills her. She calms herself and in a gentle, soothing yet firm voice answers the boy. “What did you just say? I would never ever ask you to do such a thing. Who would even?….Why would anyone? …How could anyone ever ask anyone to do a thing like that?”
She looks at the boy calmly as she scans his face once more then speaks softly “I don’t want anything from you. I would never want you to do anything for me except be a friend, just play and sit around or do things children like us should be doing. We could even play fight with the wooden swords my father made me, would be good training for us for when we one day become soldiers or guards.”
She reaches out a hand then pulls it back scared that if she does touch him he might hit her or think she wants to hurt him. She swallows before speaking, a little unsure of how to phrase her question ”Maicelzel, does someone hurt you, or make you do things you really don’t want to do? Because judging by what you just said, I think I might be the one who could do something for you instead. I would never hurt you, nor would anyone in my family.”
She bites her lip and lowers her gaze before speaking again “Do you expect something from me? Something more than what I have to offer?” She sighs softly and looks at him through her black tresses that partly covers her still pale face. She fears that he might want something from her that she is not willing to offer and she almost dreads his words afraid of what they might be
As she began to speak he flinched, expecting her to beat him or shout at him. He knew he’d put his foot in it and he cursed himself for not keeping his mouth shut. He clamped his eyes shut tightly as she queried him, her voice in an offended tone to his question before.
"Ch… children’s things?" He whispered. He didn’t understand fully what she meant, he was never allowed to be much of a child. He never really had toys, or friends and any noise he created was quickly stopped by his mother. He shook his head, pulled his knees to his chest, wrapped his arms around his legs and buried his head. "I do not like fighting. It hurts."
The questions about abuse hit him hard and he swallowed, keeping his face hidden away as he shook his head violently. “No. I am fine. Just… I’m fine. It does not matter.” He listened to her soft words and felt ashamed, he did not expect anything for her. He didn’t expect anything from anybody, not even for someone to stop and speak with him, so having another of his age to talk with was most unusual for him. “I do not want anything from you. I am sorry for being so rude, I did not mean to suggest anything like that.”
She notices his reaction to her words and feels terrible for possibly hurting him with what she said. Observing his closed eyes she knows her words might have been a little harsh and maybe she could have phrased her own questions a little better and she makes a mental note to try and be a little gentler with her words from now on. It is quite clear that anything too harshly said hurts him and that is something she never wants to do.
His words are so soft she barely hears them but answers as gently as possible “Yes, children things. Don’t you ever just go and run down in the fields and feel completely free? Have you never rolled down a hill and felt like nothing in the world could stop you even if they tried?” She whispers as she pulls her own legs up to her and wrapping her arms around them as she balances on the wall and looks down at the ground. Her words are a mere whisper as she carries on talking. “Don’t you ever just take a wooden carved horse and run around pretending that you are riding off to a far off place where no one could ever hurt you again and being alone isn’t all that bad, because at least you are happy? Maybe you even pretend someone is with you and you feel like you can accomplish anything whilst they are by your side, because that one person understands how you feel and they won’t leave you alone no matter what.”
A small tear rolls down her cheek as she looks up at Maicelzel and she quickly wipes it away feeling relieved that he never saw it as she hates crying in front of others. Gathering all her courage she moves a little closer to the boy and reaches out her hand not caring if he might hit her or push it away, she has to try and show him that she cares. Softly she places her hand on his back being very careful not to startle him or hurt him. “Maicelzel, I don’t like fighting either, fighting is bad and it makes people sad and I never want to fight with you. I promise never to hurt you or ever fight with you. If I said something wrong and my words hurt you, I apologise for that.” In her heart she hopes that she can comfort him in some way as she feels he is a very special person and that she really would like to know him better.
His answer of being fine does very little to set her mind at ease as she still feels something is not quite right, but she chooses not to press the matter any further for the time being. Relieve washes over her like cool water at his answer of not wanting anything from her especially anything that he might have suggested and she manages to smile at him even though he does not see it where he is still hiding his face “It is really alright I am not mad at you. You simply asked a question and it just shocked me a little. You were not rude at all, you clearly just needed to know something and I reacted a little wrong. No harm was done and none has ever been done for asking a simple question, at least not as far as I know.” She hopes that her words can set him at ease and make him feel a little better even if it is just in a small way. A though crosses her mind as she realises that her words might not have any effect as she doesn’t even know if she said things the right way. She has never been in a situation like this and maybe she is doing everything wrong, yet she feels that what she is doing is right though and she trusts that feeling.

Only relationships she has is with the dragons Mor and Gala and it is the only form of love she knows.
No one ever loved her deeply and passionately as she was mostly alone even when she lived in Imladris when they came to Middle-Earth and settled there after some time.

She looks towards the street once more hiding the sadness in her eyes and her voice as she knows only too well how it feels to be alone all the time. “I always learn everything and study alone and just have a tutor who teaches me some things in the mornings, the rest of the day I have to do everything on my own.” She sighs softly and blinks away a tear, not wanting Maicelzel to see her sadness, as she does such a good job of hiding what she feels all the time. “I am allowed in the house, but I don’t like being there all the time as it is no fun being in there alone” Her usually pale lip turns bright red as she bites it as memories flood her mind of a time long ago and she shakes her head so as to forget them.
Anvanya wipes her eyes on her sleeve as her face is still turned away from Maicelzel, glad that her long hair hides most of her face away from him. She turns to face him again a calm smile gracing her pale lips and gestures with slender pale fingers down the road “I usually go out and play on my own by the trees by the river after I go to the market. I have always done everything on my own for as long as I can remember.”
A frown appears on her face and she narrows her eyes as she thinks of something. “Maicelzel, I….I don’t know if you would like it, but you could always come to my house and learn things with me, we could study anything we want. We could go to the market together and play together. Would you like that?” In nervousness she curls a lock of raven hair around her finger, something she always does when unsure of whether she said the right thing or not.
“It would be nice to have someone to play with and even just sit and talk to or do things with. Though I do not mind being alone, I am getting slightly tired of being alone all the time and it would be nice to have a friend. It would also help us pass the time as we seemingly both have to wait forever for our parents to come home.” Taking another bite of the apple in her hand she wrinkles her nose and shivers as she chews on a particularly sour bit and giggles at herself. Her blue eyes meet Maicelzel’s green ones as she looks up and places her hand over her mouth “Amin hiraetha, I don’t know why I always end up getting the sour ones.” A gust of wind suddenly tugs at her cloak and she pulls it tighter around herself trying to shield her body from the chill of it.
He forced a small smile as she shivered from the taste of the apple and thought about her offer in silence. He had never been invited to someone’s house before and the thought of it unnerved him somewhat. He had never even had a friend either. What do you even do with a friend? What do you talk about? He didn’t think he had anything to talk about.
Holding up the apple to his mouth, he pressed it to his lips and rested there, the apple pressing through his lips to his teeth. He started blankly at the ground and let her words sink in a little more. There had to be some catch in there. A stranger would not invite him to their house and ask to be friends for no reason. Pulling the apple away from his mouth a touch, he looked sideways at the girl but didn’t move his head.
"If I go to your home, did you want me to do things for you?" He questioned in barely a whisper. He was afraid that she would do the same things to him that happened before with others. "Did you want me to…" He swallowed hard and dropped his voice lower. "…Take my clothes off?" He winced as he finished speaking, half expecting her either to strike him for being so foul or for praising him softly into offering himself.
Anvanya gasps and freezes and the apple she held drops from her dainty hand in shock at the boy's words. She turns her head and stares at him, her face drained of all color and her blue eyes losing all their radiance almost going black as anger fills her. She plays with the one bright red apple that is left in her dainty hands and turns to look at the male elf and nods with a smile upon learning his name. “You have a really nice name. If your father is still on guard duty that means it will not take that much longer for him to arrive depending on where he does his duties. My father is a guard too and he left the house a little while ago to start his duties, just before I left.”She looks down the pathway and back at Maicelzel with a calm smile.
After a few moments of looking at him a slight frown appears on her delicate face upon noticing the dark circles around his eyes and that he appears to have not been sleeping well. To her he looks like one who someone is not taking very good care of, he is too thin and the dark mark on his cheek she noticed earlier also bothers her. Her heart grows heavy as sadness fills her eyes and she looks away from him. “Sorry to ask you this, but are you tired? You seem to have not had a good night’s rest in days.” She speaks softly and calmly trying not to give to much away of her immediate emotional state concerning his current state.
She shakes her head then pulls her legs up to her as she turns placing both feet on the wall and faces Maicelzel with her head resting on her grossed arms on her knees. “I am never too busy to sit and spend some time with someone who clearly needs some company. I am always alone too and I have in my own way grown used to it too.” She sighs softly and turns her face towards the pathway. “I was really just on my way to buy some things for my mother from the market. She is not home as she works in the House of Healing. A messenger was send to our house to inform us that she will be late as she is helping with the delivering of a baby as she is a healer and a midwife” She says with a soft yet sad smile.
She thinks for a while and looks back at Maicelzel through strands of raven black hair that fall over the side of her pale, clearly worried face “If you wait here or anywhere else every day, I would not mind keeping you company. You don’t have to be alone anymore. Would you mind if I waited with you every day?” She asks somewhat shyly as she shifts on the wall then takes a bite of her apple.
Maicelzel blinked slowly, his heavy lids rubbing against his aching eyes making them sore. Turning his head he frowned, seeming to fall asleep at any moment. “No, I’m fine, honestly.” He dismissed and rubbed his arm with bony fingers. “I…err…thank you?” He mumbled as Anvanya passed the compliment. “I wait out here a lot.” He explained. “My mother does not like me waiting about the house so she sends me outside to learn and play. But, I do not really have many others to spend my time with.” He bit his lip as the last words left his mouth, he did not want to give the impression that he needed friends, simply that he had none.
"I am nearly always alone, I do not mind it so much, I prefer it then where there are people about that I do not trust or like." He said, thinking bitterly of some raw memory. "You do not have to stay with me, you have errands to run and I am never sure how long it will be before my father returns home. Sometimes I can sit here for a long while before he comes back."
The expression on his face was that of one who was used to disappointment and misfortune, he turned the apple in his hands and pulled out the stalk; turning it in his fingers.
