What turned me “woke”? I was raised to believe in a brown, Middle Eastern immigrant who taught people to love everyone, no exceptions. It’s not rocket science.

Everyday the news gives me new reasons to grieve what the world has become. People committing atrocities in the name of Jesus as if he didn’t preach against those things. So I do what I often do: make some art to process my emotions. I added some bible verses that I’ve been studying lately as well. I think these make the hypocrisy incredibly clear.

I can’t believe how controversial kindness has become. But I chose to hope that a better future awaits us, one where fascism is defeated and kindness is no longer something we question.

If this post upsets you, it probably SHOULD. I’m tired of silence and fear and hypocrisy.

Maturing is realizing that the bixie cut Eugene gave Rapunzel is SUCH a vibe!

But more importantly that a “less conventionally attractive look” was SO IMPORTANT for her abuse recovery because that is INFINITELY more important than how beautiful WE think she is.

My complaint isn't that it isn't cute. It is cute.

I just think she should have had a little more length to work with so that she can trim it up later and get the layers right. Remember it doesn't grow back (well it does one in the series but.... that was magic).

No that was like a whole point in the film.

She showed her hair that was cut off when she was a baby, it turned dark and never grew again.

It lost its power and didn't grow back.

It may be that Gothel cut it short to avoid it interfering with her aesthetic? Besides that, the unusually long length of the rest of her hair is also due to magic. Normal hair falls out or breaks periodically, preventing it from reaching such lengths. Therefore it's impossible that Rapunzel's non magical hairs are literally her same baby hairs. People don't still have their baby hairs. They must have grown somewhat merely to maintain a presence. That's what leads me to believe Gothel (or Rapunzel herself) just keeps that bit cut short.
