240416 - THANK YOU for 800+ followers!! I started on a studyblr just so I could share my notes and photos and to get inspired; I certainly did not expect this!

Today, I’m working on some key political science terms and trying not to freak out now that I have 4 extremely heavy papers in the next week. I’ve been getting questions about the materials I use so:

1) the black pen is actually a really cheap house brand from Popular bookstore 2) the coloured flashcards are from a SG brand called Ugrade(.com.sg) 3) I use recycled paper so it’s actually the blank side of my sisters’ old music scores you’re seeing

Moral of the story: Don’t feel troubled about using expensive things for your studyblr, save the stress for your cramming instead :-)

Hello! Update on current post-exam mood: relieved, most of all happy, but also empty.

From going full super saiyan the past few weeks with lectures and clinicals (as well as part-time jobs on the weekends) in addition to eight hours a day of self study in preparation for the exams, I have voluntarily gone all potato mode and become an ingrown part of my bed. And have been quite happy with it.

I hope everyone’s exams went well. I just got my results back yesterday, and am happy to say that life goes forward. Done with neurology for now, psychiatry next. To everyone else still in limbo: this is your chance to enjoy life. You’ve done your best, and there’s nothing more anyone in the universe can demand of you. Remember that no matter the outcome, you’ve already overcome the challenge of surviving the exam period, and that alone is worthy of a celebration. Most things go well, and if they don’t, time will smooth things over. ✌️

As for that feeling of emptiness I mentioned earlier, I might have spoken too soon. There’s allllways some kind of work to do for us students. Bye-bye, exams. Hello, thesis work.

PS. I should also probably rearrange my study space.

to expand on this: as rescue teams were racing to save those kids and their coach, elon musk decided to use the crisis as a PR stunt.

he tweeted about how he was going to send his engineers to Thailand in order to look like a hero. he threw out ludicrous rescue ideas, including a 3 mile long tube and a small submarine, neither of which had a chance in hell of working.

the diver being discussed here is Vern Unsworth. he’s a 63-year-old British caver who lives near and has extensive knowledge of the Tham Luang cave system.

Unsworth is the reason the boys were found: he used his knowledge of the caves and deductive reasoning to pinpoint where he thought the team would be. when rescuers followed his directions, they found the boys only 200 meters away.

Unsworth also called in the British divers who would go on to first locate the team. he didn’t know these boys, but he remained outside of thebTham Luang cave system for the full 17 days in order to assist in their rescue anyway.

he has since rightfully called out Musk for trying to exploit the situation for attention and explained why Musk’s suggestions would never have even worked. Musk responded by throwing a tantrum and, based on literally NOTHING, calling Unsworth a pedophile.

This is beautiful. Though, it’s not “all your wounds” (tutte le tue ferite) but rather “May my wound” (la mia ferita). It’s feminine singular and I do kinda love the personalization of the writing.

But it’s also … it’s kind of grammatically incorrect but it’s also very colloquial and dialectal.

Che la mia ferita sia mortale is more than just a saying … it’s almost an invocation.

It’s also less ‘may’ and more ‘that’ so it should be more like …

That my wound be lethal
