I find it funny, you know, the 'A good slave needs to do these 10 things' lists. Tumblr is rife with them. Some are better than others of course (some of these tumblr clones really need to utilize a spell check from time to time) but they all seem, universally, ridiculous.

I think I can compile every 'A slave should,' 'Teach a slave to,' and 'House rules' list I've ever seen here in the land of the Tumbl.

Celebrate Differences

There are universal differences between men and women. While there may be individual exemptions, there are qualities and characteristics that tend to cluster by gender.  

Men are more likely to be leaders, confident, assertive, strong, adept at viewing the big picture, and decision-making. Because of these dominant qualities, almost all societies are patriarchal in nature, where men primarily hold the power.

Women are more likely to be service focused, weak, subversive, and detail oriented. Throughout history, the traditional dynamic that has worked very well is for men to lead and hold positions of power and for women to support them and stand silently and obediently behind them. I see this as the natural hierarchical order, and one that is observed in almost all current and former societies. We can look at many historical figures for examples - Winston Churchill, John F Kennedy, Napoleon, Charlemagne, etc, etc.   

So, why are we as a society so focused on equality and creating equal opportunity when naturally men and women are good at different things? Why do individuals try to take on characteristics and roles that they aren't well versed in, just because they feel that it should be their right.  

It makes more sense to me, to focus on the things that each person is already proficient in, and look for complimentary dynamics. To celebrate the differences between men and women, instead of fighting against them.
