I once had a supervisor who told me that she hated Halloween because it was fantasy. "How could you make a holiday around something that isn't even real?" Like she could understand religion and folklore because the belief was "sincere" but the idea that people would enjoy something they know is made up, AND willingly buy candy for strange begging children was too much.
