so what if:

Adrien becomes more and more isolated and frustrated with feeling unneeded, that he comes to the conclusion he just shouldn't be Chat Noir anymore.

In a twisted turn of events, he accidentally discovers his father is Hawkmoth

"Don't you love your mother, Adrien? Wouldn't you do anything to get her back?"

If it had been any other time, he would've acted differently, but Adrien is so desperate for approval (and maybe a little bit vengeful) that he agrees to work with his father. Gabriel gives him the peacock miraculous and returns to being Hawkmoth instead of Shadowmoth.

Gabriel doesn't learn Adrien is Chat Noir.

Meanwhile, Felix is visiting...

...and finds the black cat miraculous. Plagg accidentally reveals himself to Felix, not realizing at first that he wasn't Adrien.

Of course, to cause problems on purpose, Felix pretends to be Chat Noir. Because of this, Ladybug doesn't immediately realize something is amiss....
