I think this is my favourite song on the tape, the beat is insane lol and that R Kelly sample at the end is hilarious but it actually sounds super hard

A Super close second for my favourite track is KICKIN IN DOORS, could be one of my favourite junts featuring Tommy wright ever, which I think says a lot. That hook is sick too

RIP AL BARILE

SSD is one of the most important hardcore bands ever PERIOD, if you wanna talk straight edge, yeah Minor Threat created it, but SSD really took it and ran with it and in my eyes are responsible for making the whole movement happen early on more then any other band or group.

I feel like SSD is also another early example of bands that really took hardcore to the next level and made it more, well hardcore. It’s way more fast then a lot of what was coming out at that time. I also think it’s really cool that Al straight up started this band before he knew how to play guitar bruh. These dudes could literally barely play their instruments, and they made two absolute landmark albums in hardcore that people still imitate to this day. None of that would have happened if Al wasn’t as dedicated as he was, he wrote all the music and pretty much all of the lyrics.

NEW YOUTH ATTACK RECORDS DROP!!! It’s a very good day to be a hardcore punk fan. There’s 8 new releases that came out today, they’re all absolutely crazy (it’s youth attack did you expect anything else?) I don’t have the energy to break all of them down so here are the ones I like the most.

LIFE SUPPORT - BORROWED TIME EP

This is a project between James Trejo and Mr. Youth Attack himself, Mark McCoy. this is their second EP, on the last one James handled all the instruments and Mark did vocals so I’m assuming it’s the same here. This shit is fast heavy and super blown out.

PSYCHOPATH - SIEGE MENTALITY

Three song ep by PSYCHOPATH from Houston, Texas. Once Again, this is some super mean, heavy blown out fast hardcore.

CADAVER DOG - BRED TO FIGHT

James Trejos solo project. I have been big on all the CADAVER DOG stuff that’s come out previously but this blows the rest of that out of the water. They’ve been putting out music since like 2012 I think and somehow this is the rawest release from them yet. Blown out fast hardcore (notice a trend?)

MANGLED STATE - LEARN TO SUFFER

I don’t have a lot to say about this one, besides this might be the best powerviolence record I’ve heard in a very long time. This shit is SICK as fuck.

CULO AT THE SKY FACTORY

This is a show that happened in Chicago in 2013, GAS RAG and CULO played it and both of the sets are on YouTube. I’m gonna leave the description from the GAS RAG video below. Go watch that too.

HOAX IN CHICAGO 2011

This set is bananas. They open up with “fagget” and by the end of the FIRST SONG the singer is bleeding and his shirt is all torn up. During the intro to the second song “end game” he just starts punching people. This is one of my favourite sets on YouTube and I’m not even sure if it’s the best HOAX set thats uploaded. Legends
