ADHD affects how I experience time, not how I experience attachment. I love you. I miss you. I just don't realize how long it’s been since I last said that, let alone messaged.

I understand that most normal functioning brains need regular engagement to maintain a bond. Absence doesn’t diminish my affection. My silence isn’t neglect or disinterest. It’s time blindness and object impermanence. The contact gap is purely neurological, not emotional. Thank you for being patient with my inconsistency and holding a seat in your heart for me.

With how dire things have felt this year, I remember my first time ever going to pride after my mom kicked me out, back in 2013.

I was really closeted about the fact that I'm gay (and even more closeted about being ficto), but openly trans at the time, and living with a really abusive gf (we're not gonna get into that last bit bc I don't like talking about it)

But one thing, a silly thing, that I remember so vividly about that day was a sign. Something some corporation looking for brownie points had posted up, but that doesn't rly matter. It was the text on it: " The butterflies in your stomach should come from love, not fear," and it kinda stuck with me all these years. I still think about that sign sometimes. I have a picture of it somewhere, in the bowels of one of my spare drives.

Idk why I decided to share this, there's no deeper message or anything, just something I was thinking about.
