Hey all! Normally when I post for Mona's community aid initiative, I post about the communities of refugees she is helping. But today I went to Instagram to update you all and saw that she hasn't posted since April, and we hadn't spoken since then either. She hadn't messaged me updates like she normally does. I was very afraid. It turned out she had broken her phone during a displacement, and she hasn't been able to replace it due to the high costs. Mobile phones are a scarce and expensive resource in Ghazzah but they are a lifeline for the families there. And for Mona it is not just a lifeline for her family but also for the refugee community she has dedicated the last few years of her life serving. She cannot connect with her usual network of volunteers or access funds without her phone (she had to contact me through her mother's phone). Despite helping displaced refugees, her and her family are also displaced refugees also living out of a tent, and she cannot currently afford a replacement. Please please please help her get a new one so she can continue doing the life-saving work she has been doing. Chuffed link to support Mona.

This kind of summarizes what I feel is the crux of garmau

Garroth prefers that his feelings for Aphmau be unconsummated, because his love for her makes him feel useful, and allows him the feeling of connection without ever actually having to show vulnerability to her. his feelings remaining unresolved is both a reward and a punishment he inflicts on himself. He can hold her up as the paragon of goodness and beauty and by extension be part of that goodness, but he is unwilling to be vulnerable and engage her as an equal. She is his talisman in this way. A figure he can carry in his heart, and say he fights in the name of, without ever really confronting his guilt and his cowardice.

I’m going to rank Aphmau ships on their pervertedness now, here we GO!!!!!

1. Garmau: I have spoken about this in length. This man is dealing with his moral injury by making her an unwitting participant in his little masochistic rituals. He is crazy. He is a true blue pervert 10/10!

2. Aarmau: as much as I hate it. This ship deserves this spot. The perviness doesn’t just come from Aaron either. Aphmau projects on Aaron just as much as he projects on her. They are imagining eachother as their dead(not rly) spouses (not rly) while they— no I shan’t say (figures that Gar is what made this pervy)….pretty pervy 9/10

3.Katemau: same issues as Garroth, but the focus of Katelyn’s sorrows already lie in Jeffory, so Aph doesn’t really get the full brunt of it. But you can’t say Katelyn doesn’t pull off the loyal dog stuff — 8/10

4. Zanemau: now I know what you’re thinking—Zanemau?! Not pervy enough? That’s preposterous! Zane seizing Aphmau to be his unwilling bride is a taunt to his brother, and a bloodless, ice cold political move. He’s sadistic, but he’d do this to any person that Garroth was interested in. I admit, her being the reincarnation of the Goddess he (falsely) worships is kinda hot. But all in all I think it’s not as hot as people make it out to be. I have no doubt that if he actually married her he’d shut her away in a tower somewhere and wash his hands of it. 7/10–could be pervier

5. Laurmau: yeah, you read that right. laurmau is not pervy. It’s definitely toxic towards the end but it’s not pervy. And before you come at me about Laur’s deal being the same as Garroth. No it’s not. It’s not for the sole fact that he externalizes his feelings and actually tells Aphmau with WORDS that he loves her, and that it’s okay if she doesn’t reciprocate. This man is normal and well adjusted, and all of the stuff that make their relationship toxic is a symptom of being a shadow knight. This is a normal relationship between two highly traumatized individuals. Not pervy (also Laurence is such a virgin cmon) 6/10
