In the midst of all the excitement, Nellian had almost forgotten to dress for the occasion. The dress felt foreign to her, brushing her ankles. The string of jewelled trinkets that hung around her neck reminded her of home. She smiled, recalling the words her brother whispered to her as he handed her the beautiful gift. Running her fingers over the gems, she pushed the thoughts of home out of her mind and made her way towards Herald’s Rest. She could hear the cheerful music resonating from the tavern, calling to those who walked by. The lively music filled her ears as Nellian stepped through the door. She looked around excitedly, the overwhelming emotions of the room forcing her to pause in the doorway. Her eyes lingered on the various colors flying past her in time with the lute’s chords. It was as if everyone from the Inquisition had shown up to commemorate the respite from tragedy. Familiar faces whirled around the room, dancing as if their celebration kept the blight away. For a moment, she feared that she had overdressed, that she had overstayed her welcome by even attending this festival. Nellian stepped behind the nearest pillar. Healing, she could conquer. Fighting, she could handle. But dancing?

1. Don’t apologize for being late/slow with replies.

2. Take all of the time you need. Days, weeks, months, doesn’t matter. Don’t put yourself under stress because of such pointless things.

3. Your personal life out of character along with your health are the most important. If you drop a thread/conversation/whatever, it’s alright. Just stay safe and take care.

Nellian examined the book in front of her in admiration. The light from the moon shone through the windows, the colors from the stained glass falling onto the pages. Nellian had a tendency to visit the library after Skyhold quieted from its daily activities. Although silence filled the room now, she could still hear Leliana’s messenger birds flying about in the rafters of the upper level. Placing her fingers on the bridge of her nose, she tried once more to focus on absorbing the information. The text mentioned an herb that was unfamiliar to her. She skimmed the rest of the page, trying to find the location of the mystery ingredient. The ravens quarreled above, pushing books off of the shelves. Blighted birds. It wasn’t until she had slammed the book down on the table that she noticed someone standing in front of her. "Oh, I-I apologize. What brings you here?” she stammered, sliding the book to the side.

everyone is welcome to join regardless of fandom, as long as you have a dragon age verse and it makes sense for your character to be at skyhold. (yes, even you, solas)

there is no pre-determined list of activities that will take place in the tourney thus far, but here are a few ideas to get you started:  jousting, melee, archery contests, wrestling, throwing horseshoes, throwing hammers, throwing logs, sprint races, feasting, drinking, storytelling, singing, dancing—you get the gist of it, right?

It’s very important to continue promoting hope and good fortune even in times of war."  She looked down at the herbs and smiled curiously, "Are these for the ill? If you need help making ointments or potions please do not hesitate to ask. I have done my share of crafting."

Nellian smiled warmly at the Inquisitor. Cullen had mentioned the Inquisitor's inclination towards helping around the camp and she seemed quite genuine. 

"Ah, I appreciate it, Inquisitor. I gathered these herbs, in particular to help ease the pain of some of the scouts that just returned. They were injured trying to avoid a nearby rift. Adan is currently tending to their wounds." Nellian flinched, hearing another cry of despair escaping one of the tents. 

"I've no time to chat, as there are wounded to attend to. If you'd like to accompany me?" she added, her words guarded. At a time like this, conversation was sparse, even when addressing the Inquisitor. Nellian had grown used to keeping a level head, however this catastrophe had struck at the worst possible time. Picking up the herbs at her feet, she rushed into the tent.

"I could inquire the same of you." Nellian answered, suspicion quelling her manners. "In all honestly, I'm out gathering herbs. What are you doing outside of Skyhold at this time of night?"

Carrying the scrolls she received from Solas, Nellian started for the library. These scrolls held the knowledge she needed to complete her latest salve. Developing healing poultices and various other restorative supplies was the trickiest part of her duties but thankfully, Solas had come across these gems the night before and notified her immediately. Their trust was simply based on their need for knowledge and the intensity in which they both sought it. Her thoughts were interrupted when she ran into someone, throwing her off balance. The scrolls tumbled to the ground with her, one of them rolling towards the fire behind the dwarven storyteller. With a screech, she began to lunge for it. Varric snatched up the scroll before the parchment could be singed. She stumbled to gather the rest of the scrolls and ingredients she had dropped, a dizzying amount of humiliation clouding her thoughts. Regaining her composure, she thanked the smirking dwarf and turned back to see who she had run into. To her surprise, she met the gaze of the Inquisitor. Scrambling to her feet, she faced the Inquisitor, a faint pink dusting her cheeks, revealing her embarrassment.

                   “I apologize, Inquisitor. My clumsiness will be the death of me.”

She jested, clearing her throat. Although she had never met him, she had heard much about him since the disaster at Haven.
