what I like about Yugi is that he is definitely in that "kind non-violent all-loving friendships-everyone" protagonist archetype but most of the time we expect those sorts of characters to wear their hearts on their sleeves or solve their problems via communication and understanding, whereas one of Yugi Muto's defining character traits is that he'd rather die than admit he has a problem. you can pour soup directly in his lap and he'll be like "oh that's okay ^_^" while internally burning with such an unquenchable incandescent rage at you that 30 minutes later his evil shadow self confronts you in a back alley and forces you to play something called Knife Pogs (a game he just made up that's like Pogs but the pogs are knives so every time you hit the stack a bunch of knives fly out and stab you in the kneecaps). so that's fun
Remember when Yugi's class lost their good school fair table to another class because a bully was a bit overbearing about it so Yami invented Gunpowder Air Hockey and blew him up? That was great. I don't think they'd introduced the card game yet at that point.
#dont forget the part about gunpowder air hockey where the puck was made of ice with a gunpowder core and it was on a hot plate#so A: every second spent with it in play it was melting#and B: every single hit chipped away at the ice#second favorite yugioh moment#only second to the taser torture scene#yugioh
The taser torture scene was so cool he fuckin fried those motherfuckers
#the burger hostage scenario was a personal fav as a youth#but gunpowder air hockey did rule
My favourite part of Gunpowder Air Hockey was just how unbelievably out of proportion the punishment was for the crime. The others were like "wow that's a bit much" but most of them could be seen as over-the-top attempts to protect people. But air hockey dude was like. It's a table at a school fair. Maybe let this one live.
Sometimes it’s not even gunpowder. In the manga book I got from my local public library, it’s fucking nitroglycerin. The thing that’s like, 45 times more likely powerful than gunpowder.
“Did you hear? Some freshman got into obelisk blue! And they’re a commoner!”
”A commoner? What academy did they go to?”
”I don’t know, some nameless one? But the thing is, if they didn’t go to a name school, that must mean they’re wicked smart to ace the written exam! I heard from some Ra Yellows that they just showed up to the duel exams and beat a proctor in just one turn!”
”So what? Proctors get beat in one turn every once in a while. And it’s followed by a demotion once everyone sees that it was a fluke.”
Rumors and gossip were spreading around like wild fire with the upperclassman. Getting to obelisk blue either status or great grades from great schools. Something a random commoner wouldn’t be able to do. So the last option must mean that they were incredible at dueling. That or they cheated. Everyone had their different theories, but all of them were interested in knowing who this new guy was.
“It’s not a guy, it’s a girl. Geez way to be sexist.”
”You know what I meant and how was I supposed to know that?”
Girls were loudly gossiping if perhaps this new duelist could challenge or even rival Alexis. Any female friends of hers or lovestruck dudes adamantly and vehemently shot it down.
“Hey Alexis, you were there when the duel exams started. You must’ve been able to tell it was a fluke right?”
Alexis, who just grabbed her dinner at the ornate obelisk blue cafeteria, sat down next to her friends. Not interested and tired of being pestered for information she doesn’t have. All these rumors about one duelist was getting annoying, especially when there was already enough drama about some slacker that showed up late and beat Fr. Crowler.
”Zane and I went together to scope out the newbies and see who had any promise, but from what I’m hearing they must’ve been one of the first people there, as the only really interesting duel that I saw was that kid who beat Dr. Crowler.”
She went back to eating her Lobster Thermidor. Although she will admit being interested in meeting this newbie commoner, her mind was also thinking about that kid who beat Dr. Crowler, who cheated and used his personal deck instead of one of the instructor decks.
“Well, they ship in a week right? So soon enough we’ll see that it was really just a fluke that they got in! We’re the elite! No way some random commoner without an impressive academic and social background could get in to Obelisk Blue!”
Alexis just sighs and can’t wait for the next two days to end. Rumors and gossip usually change by then.
A new duelist enters Obelisk Blue. The elite of the elite. The only problem is that they’re not special in any way. No status, no big wig academy attended. Even prodigies from commoner families are first placed in Ra Yellow, then they move up to Obelisk Blue. So how the hell did they get in? Why can't anybody find any information about this new kid? And how come they don't want to duel anyone?
“Optimus, I’m picking up an old signal in your sector. Looks to be emitting a frequency unusual to human technology. It could be cybertronian.”
Ratchet’s voice crackles through the com link, interrupting Optimus’ long drive through the Montana interstate.
“What is it’s location Ratchet?”
“It about 463 miles away, in Idaho. I’ll- wait. The signal just disappeared.”
“Mmm…it could be of decepticon origin.”
“Negative, the signal had no known decepticon encryption. It wasn’t a message. I believe this was ment as a homing beacon.”
Optimus flicks his mirror to look for any other vehicles with him on the road. There’s nothing but him on the long barren road.
“The are no human vehicles nor settlements in the vicinity. Ground bridge me to the location, if it is not the decepticons, we cannot let them gain whatever this may be.”
“Opening the bridge now. You be out a few hundred feet outside of the location in case it is a decepticon trick. It located in the middle of a national park, so while it’s unlikely to run into humans, be on guard.”
“Understood.”
The swirling tunnel of pale bright greens and blues opens before Optimus as he drives through. He what he comes out to is forest and transforms into his cybertronian form. His large frame weaving through the trees in an attempt to keep nature undisturbed.
"Ratchet, are you there? I am not detecting any evidence of Decepticon activity. The surrounding trees and enviorment have not been disturbed, something decepticons would not care for."
"I can hear you loud and clear Optimus. Which mean Decepticons aren't there to scramble our commlink. It looks like we've beat Megatron's forces to the punch for once. But I'm still concerned on why that signal is gone if it's not being scrambled."
Optimus carefully walks to the area Ratchet said the signal came from. What meets him is a sheer cliff that towers over even him and he starts his search for what could have made that signal.
"Hmmm...Unfortuately old friend, it seems we were not the first here either. Whatever was here is gone."
"Not that I doubt you, but how do you know for sure?"
Optimus runs his hand over the edge of where the cliff and ground meet, a giant pit about the size of a swimming pool, with little dirt in it from the sides collapsing. What was intruiged him the most was that a perfect cubic hole was left. While mostly in the dirt, it extended up into the rock base of the cliff. There appeared to be no indication that machinery was used to do this. The rock lacked scratches or chips, and there were no treadmarks of heavy machinery dug into the ground leading to the pit. The rock also had a clean straight edge to it, as if it whatever was here had simply disappeared.
It didn't make sense. For something to be in the cliff, it would have had to be there for centuries if not millenia. Yet removing something of that size would leave some type of evidence.
"Ratchet, my suspicions about this not being the decepticon's doing grows stronger. I suspect that there is another party at play that we do not yet know about."
Optimus' optics scan the ground for any hint or disturbance. Zooming in until his optics highlight a single set of tire tracks. Thinner than a car and only two he can make out. A motorcycle perhaps. He follows them out and notices they keep going much longer than usual. Whoever this is doesn't have access to a ground bridge. After awhile he shifts to his alt mode and drives. The trail cuts through the forest, going a single direction consistantly enough and not going on trails where Ratchet said there were any. It continues like this until Optimus breaks the treeline and ends up on the side of another empty country highway.
"I will brief you more when I get back to base. We must be on our guard for this unknown individual or group, and assess whether they may be friend or foe."
Optimus gets on the road and starts driving.
"I'll open a groundbrige for you."

Bruh the tfp fandom is so dry and dead right now ;-;
After an ancient cybertronian signal is found, as quickly as it appeared it’s cut off. Autobots and decepticons race to the location to find that neither party is responsible and that a third, independent party has shown themselves on earth. Who they are and their intentions are unknown as both sides must decide what to do with this new variable in their war. Will they recruit them? Or will they become an enemy?
She only wanted the best for you and now you’re dead.
Her safe space is dead
She’s in shock for a while. Just, lost. She doesn’t know what to do as you’re taken away and her friends friends try to comfort her.
She disappears for a bit and people worry that she’ll be gone for years again, but after a week she returns. Seemingly calm.
What she was doing was letting out her anger, grief, sorrow, and regrets into the empty and deserted sand dunes of the desert. You might find large patches of glass if you go out there.
Afterwards she’s the same. Acts the same, talks the same.
But if you look closely and if you know her well, everything she says is a lie. She doesn’t care about the crisis, she doesn’t care about training, she doesn’t care that she got the wrong order, she doesn’t care that the kids made a mess.
She cares that her love is gone, and now there’s no one but her and her thoughts to keep her company.
Story time
What's Wrong?
Why...why did it have to end like this. She tried for so long. She tried for everyone but it wasn't enough for them. It never will be.
"Why can't the Avatar just do this"
"The Avatar can't do whatever she wants"
"Just do your job Avatar"
"You don't have the authority to do that Avatar"
"She can't keep a level head"
"Korra you need to fix your attitude"
"Korra you need to find him"
"Korra you need to help"
"Korra you need to go"
"Korra you need to fight"
"Korra you can't fight them"
"Korra"
"Korra"
"Korra"
"Korra"
“Korra you need to let me go.”
She’s been asked for so much. You were supposed to be her reprieve from the world, her safe place, her happy place, hers. But in the end she guessed she was asking for too much from you.
“I’m sorry to hear about what happened to Y/n...I know you...loved them.” Mako told to Korra as they watched the grave being filled in.
She did love them, but it still wasn’t enough. It wasn’t enough to keep you with her. It wasn’t enough to keep you alive. If only she had listened once more. If only she was there. If only she wasn’t demanded of so much. If only she wasn’t the Avatar, then maybe, maybe she could’ve been with you right now. No Amon, no red lotus, no Vaatu, no paranoia, no kidnapping, no depression, no worries, and most importantly, no funeral.
The worst is her is that they’re still asking. Still demanding. As if she didn’t lose the love of her life. The world is still turning, but hers is gone. It goes as if nothing was wrong.
It was finally over. After the days of running and the torture it was time for the execution of the imposter.
The crowd watched in excitement to see the stain on their creator’s legacy get washed away. The thief that dared to steal and deceive the people of Teyvat by wearing their creator’s face.
The crowds murmurs of anticipation grew to cheers as the beaten body of the thief was brought to the makeshift stage. Applause rang out as they placed the thief’s behind the chopping block that was stationed there. After all what better way to punish the thief that stole the creator’s face than to remove the head of which the face sits on?
Zhongli forces them in their knees before the block while the Raiden Shogun stands by, looking forward to finally kill the divine sinner with Mussou Ishin. Venti acts as the announcer for the crowd as he lists the off the crimes that the thief has committed to warrant this punishment. Everybody knows what they did, but there’s no such thing as a crowd who doesn’t like to hear a bit of sin. He bolsters the crowd as he turns to the thief and asks them for their last words before their execution, sarcastically saying that everyone will understand if it’s for forgiveness from the creator.
They look at him and for the first time a chill shoots down his spine as their eyes stair into his, before moving onto the crowd. The thief’s eyes held no remorse, no forgiveness, and no mercy.
Everyone waited to hear the thief’s lasts words. To hear them plead for forgiveness and mercy by the all creator as their head is chopped off. Some don’t even think the thief should deserve to. Some just want to hear and see their head hit the stone ground.
A grated sound leaves the thief’s lips. It’s so quiet that Venti has to ask them to repeat it. They suck in a breath as they look at the crowd with the same look they gave Venti.
“Your god. Does not. Exist.”
They’re wrenched down into a bowing position by Zhongli. The crowd screams for the exocution of the thief. The Shoguns sword held up high to the heaven as a symbol of bringing down their creators wrath upon the wretched fool who would dare say such blasphemy upon their name.
The thief smiles as the look at ground. How the crowd screams for their death brings them a sense of joy as it will soon be silent. That they’ll be free just moments from now.
The traveler, Nahida, and Furina watch from the ground as they see the thief’s smile. They know what’s going to happen. And they know they’re powerless to stop it.
Raiden swings her blade down onto the thief’s neck and the stage is covered in gold. It pours off stage and drips down into the crowd as the Shogun’s sword disappears.
Gold fills the crowds eyes as the thief stands up unharmed. Any previous presence of their broken body gone as they seem to have return to peak health, their body outlined in a pale gold that bleeds into the eyes of the audience.
“Your god doesn’t exist.” They say again. A light smile on their face as their eyes are filled with warmth.
Zhongli and Raiden move to kill them, but are stopped by the Traveller and Furina. Around their eyes are a small specks of gold, the sign of when the divine creator is possessing them.
Raiden manifests her pole arm and Lumine dodges, leaving the thief wide open as they’re unarmed and powerless. She strikes again and her pole arm lands into the street. Clattering to the ground as the thief holds Mussou Ishin out. The Shogun can only stare as they look at the blade in their hand. She falls to her knees as what stand before her finally gets to her.
They had taken what her god had given to her. They bathe in a light stronger than what the acolytes shine. And they had healed completely from the injuries they had previously gained in an instant.
They weren’t trying to kill a thief. They were trying to kill their creator.
The audience falls to their knees and start to plead for forgiveness. For their punishment for their ignorance against their god.
Their god just looks at Mussou Ishin. A lost look in their eyes as they stare at the blade. As they stare at Ei.
Venti’s wails grabs their attention. He cries for his gods forgiveness and their response leaves him confused.
“You need to stop praying to me. I’m not your god.”
“Y-your grace! Please! I know we’ve committed a terrible sin! Please punish us for our crime! Let us earn your forgiveness!“ The crowd joins in with agreement with his plead.
“But your god doesn’t exist Venti?”
He looks up and sees a grin stretched upon their face. A mocking look in their eyes as they look at him.
“What? Y-your grace I’m confused.” Venti stammers out and the audience goes quiet as their god opens their mouth.
“Your god doesn’t exist, because you were worshiping what your own pride made up.”
The crowd starts to despair as they continue.
“-Your archives of what I did, they tell of events that are true. But you’ve made up everything of who I am. You’ve replaced it with what you think I am. Who you want me to be. What your pride think you deserve from me. What your own arrogance think you deserve. “Nice”? “humble”? “forgiving”? “Good”? “Just”?, “Fair”? You’ve made up the most tasteless and bland god you guys could think of.”
They walk to the edge of the stage and look upon the sorry state of what was once a “proud” audience doing their “god’s” work.
“You’re worship your own prideful imagination. You worship an idea that made you feel special because it just wasn’t enough for you. When you hunted me down, you said that this is in the name of your god, when it was just in the name of your arrogance. After all I never once saw anyone go to the countless statues of your god to ask if you were doing the right thing. In fact I don’t think you talk with them at all. You just talk to them. Always talking, talking, talking just non-stop of how you’re doing it for them. Never asking for an answer in return. Always demanding praise for something that you wanted to do.”
They look down to see their main team with their heads pressed into the harsh stone ground. Their tears soaking the pavement.
”Your our grace, please! Give us another chan-!” Ei pleads. The situation so dire that she’s emerged from her plane of Euthymia.
“Another chance?” Their eyes narrow at her.
“-I gave you a chance when you hunted me. I gave you a chance when I ran. I gave you a chance when you caught me. I gave you a chance when you called for my execution. And I gave you a chance before you swung. Your. Sword. You’ve had enough chances. Chances that you ignored for your pride and arrogance in thinking you were special enough to kill in the name of a “god” that you made up.”
“So I say again. Your god doesn’t exist.”
A brilliant light that covers them makes the archons cover their eyes and turn away. They start to slowly disintegrate in front of their eyes as they say their final words to teyvat.
The idea of a possessive yandere suit of armor is so hot to me.
You meet in a ruin or something and the moment you wipe off their cobwebbed covered helmet they’re immediately attached.
It joins you on your adventures. Sometimes you wear it sometimes you don’t and it walks beside you. But those instances of you wearing them brings them so much relief knowing that you’re closer than ever to them and the fact that they’re the one who decides whether you can leave their grasp or not. The idea of keeping you all to themselves, completely covered by amor and a helmet so no one can see you. They drop hints that they love you by doing typical gestures of affection when they’re hollow. Hugging you, putting an arm around your shoulders when you have a meal together. If you’re short enough, even resting their gauntlet on your head.
After some time (like, 4 months) they confess their affection to you, only for you to reject them. You love them yes, but only in a platonic way. As a partner but not in romance.
They decide that they’ve had enough. They’re the only ones that deserve anything to do with you. The only one who deserves to see you. To know about you. To have you. They’ve been alone for so long that surely you finding them meant that you had to be special. That you two were destined to be together.
they thought you wouldn’t mind the idea of wearing them all the time. After all who doesn’t want more safety. But you rejected them. Again. Saying that it would be too cumbersome to keep them on and that you would lose a lot of mobility. Not knowing that you were about to lose all of it.They snap at you as they grab you wrist, their cold steel grip hurting you and they know it. They spout their delusional reasoning as the front of the armor opens up to engulf you. Your cries are silenced when they shove you in and contort you limbs to fit into theirs. The helmet and joints tightening around your body as they become your metal cage.
They just tell you promises of safety and companionship for eternity. Of how you’ll adjust to your new “home” and you’ll learn to love them. All the while they know and understand what they’re doing is wrong, but they couldn’t care less. After so long they finally have an armor barer and they’re never letting this one go.
