it's that time of the year fixation again

as you've understood over the past year and a half, my mmz thoughts mostly revolve around the Four, Copy and Zero, and to a lesser extent the latter two's og selves, resulting in a crisscross of shitty dynamics affectionately dubbed "the nuclear pretzel".

but I also added Ciel because she *is* deuteragonist and regardless of canon execution or lack thereof i believe there are interesting potentials for tweaking and expanding her relationships :)

there are other characters I like a lot, like Neige and Elpizo, but don't have relationships thoughts for them beyond what we're shown in-game, so that's all folks

I just had to make sure the world is aware of this realization I had a while ago if they aren’t already:

not only do x and zero have matching “variable/numerical” names, but they’re literally opposites…

X = infinite possibility, infinite potential; he was created to carry on Light’s legacy via complete free will and choice

Zero (0) = nothing; he was made for largely, one purpose (wreaking havoc and chaos) and had no choices - whatever he was programmed to do is what he did upon awakening

If zero hadn’t gotten to know x (or at least the maverick hunters/others with free will), he would have never had the ability to choose (I feel like x taught him, to some degree, that he is not “nothing” at some point). But it’s interesting that zero’s whole existence was intended to be empty while x has had the freedom of choice from the beginning (makes you think harder about his “what am I fighting for” motif…I think capcom’s writing team just didn’t know how to efficiently get this across, because it feels insanely intentional that by the end of his arc he knows what he fights for - he’s made a choice to fight for people he cares about)
