So that’s who Finnick loves, I think. Not his string of fancy lovers in the Capitol. But a poor, mad girl back home.
Did you love Annie right away, Finnick?

it’s as if I’m Finnick, watching images of my life flash by
“It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart.” - Finnick Odair

When I”m assertive, I’m a bitch. When a man’s assertive, he’s a boss. He’s bossed up. No negative connotation behind being “bossed up,” but lots of negative connotation behind being a bitch. When you’re a girl, you have to be everything. You have to be dope at what you do but you have to be super sweet, and you have to be sexy, and you have to be this and you have to be that, and you have to be nice. It’s like, I can’t be all those things at once. I’m a human being.
It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. I have learned that it is no one else’s job to take care of me but me.
Tina Turner is someone that I admire, because she made her strength feminine and sexy. Marilyn Monroe, because she was a curvy woman. I’m drawn to things that have the same kind of silhouettes as what she wore because our bodies are similar.
All that stuff about what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger is so not true. Do you know what makes you stronger? When people treat you and your art with dignity. Feeling like you’re respected among the people who do the same thing you do is incredible and necessary.
Powerful women do not have to act masculine or cold in order to get things done. Powerful women can be huggers who name their dog Lamby and make flower crowns in their free time.
From the girl who said she would never cut her hair or move to New York or find happiness in a world where she is not in love. You’ve given me the courage to c h a n g e
There are sexual things that I do that aren’t for a man. I feel empowered sometimes by being sexy and being comfortable enough to be sexy on camera. A lot of women struggle with that. But there are some days that I don’t want anyone to see me. I’m just a regular girl. Some days I’m super strong; some days I’m super insecure.
That’s exactly why I can wear those outfits! Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman. If you’re attractive then you can’t be sexy, and you can’t be intelligent? What is all of that?
