Wolfclan's Ruin, Moon 0: Olivestar

After a particularly difficult leafbare, most of the clan has been wiped out by a strange illness. The last to die is Wolfclan's leader, Featherstar... leaving behind his daughter (and deputy) Olivetail to pick up the pieces. With the clan in such a fragile state, can she keep them all together? Or are they doomed to eventually fall apart?

Moon 0- Buzzard and Hollow

Buzzard and Hollow were born in the same litter, and were bound at the hip from the moment they were old enough to toddle around after each other. Buzzard protected Hollow, and Hollow comforted Buzzard, and they were as close as close could be. When they were old enough to be adopted out, their new person adopted both of them. They had a happy life together for a few years, but about a moon ago they were suddenly abandoned out in the woods. Hollow was still in denial, but Buzzard-- ever the pessimist-- insisted that they have to learn to survive on their own. She figured out a rudimentary way of hunting, and chased off anyone that got too close.

That changed when their night was suddenly interrupted by heat and flames. The two siblings ran, and ducked into the first hidey-hole they saw. That just happened to be where Weasel and Heather were already hiding. Both pairs of cats were on edge at the sight of the others, but they were left with nowhere else to go. The four of them sat together in the tense, dark silence of the underground.

Moon 0 Part 2 (Heather and Weasel)

"It's alright," Weasel insisted. "We'll figure something out. Oh, heavens." Heather didn't respond; if the nervous look on his face was any indication, he was comforting himself more than he was her. She stared at her paws. They looked unfamiliar to her now.

Heather never thought that her family would fall. Her father, Stone, had been leading the local clowder for as long as she'd been alive, and she was meant to take over for him when he passed. But their numbers were dwindling, food was sparse, and morale was already low by the time a horrible bout of greencough struck. More than half of the clowder died, including Stone. In spite of Heather's best efforts to hold everyone together, those that survived it scattered to the winds. The only cat who stuck around was Weasel, her mother's brother. They had never been particularly close, but who else did they have?

After that, the two of them stuck together. They bickered, and they relied on each other... but it was lonely with just the two of them. Ten moons passed that way before disaster struck: in the middle of the night, a wildfire surged up, seemingly out of nowhere. Heather and Weasel had no choice but to seek shelter underground, in what turned out to be a rabbit warren. Little did they know, they wouldn't be alone.

Moon 0 (part 1)

Hey everyone! Welcome to my little clangen project. It’s a little non-traditional in that this isn’t technically a clan; it's a group of strangers who are forced together by circumstance in the beginning. I’m also not gonna be sticking to in-game events 100%; I'm prioritizing having a cohesive plot, so I might move things around, add things, take things out, etc. It's more 'taking inspiration' from the game than it is a true clangen blog... but I think it's gonna be fun!

These are the guys we're starting out with! They'll be getting little character blurbs/backstories before we get into the action.
