PS: I am an adult, so there might be some more adult themes in my story. Anything slightly more graphic will be under cuts, but just keep that in mind.

it's.... the sims 4 😔 fork found in kitchen
although i could also include games i used to play a lot on my nintendo ds like animal crossing wild world or the sims 2 ds. haven't played them in many years but it would definitely make me feel that way if i did.
After conversing with the several remaining contenders, Valarr has made his way to the upper levels of the open hall. Ever the caring sister, Ymme, senses his nerves and joins him - offering no advice, simply the comfort of her quiet presence.
Prince Valarr and Princess Ymme stand near the flower-covered railing, as the prince reflects back on the events of the night.
It is nearly a quarter to midnight, when the sound of hooves against stone reaches Valarr's ears. He looks over the balcony railing - and it is only then that he notices guests departing. In a brief moment of panic, there is only one person on his mind...
Lady Muse.
Images of time spent with Lady Muse (by @starlightpixels) from throughout the night flash through Valarr's mind. In this moment, he is sure that she is the one.
Composing himself, he leaves his sister's side and quickly heads towards where he last had seen Lady Muse. By the time that he has made his way there, his panic seems justified. Only a handful of the ladies remain - those who had been most hopeful for a match.
But she is not among them.
Even Valarr's mask cannot hide his disappointment.
A final glance around the hall as the clock strikes midnight, confirms that majority of the guests have already left for the night. He thanks each of the remaining women for attending before guiding the group to the awaiting carriages.
It seems to be a disappointing end to a beautiful night for the young prince.
Valarr removes his mask for the first time since the start of the masquerade. As he heads to his parents to break the news - something catches his eye by the water. He leans down, picking up the small white and gold mask - discarded not far from where he had last seen his chosen.
It's her mask. But how did it get there?
Valarr decides quickly, that part does not matter so much.
Upon closer inspection of the mask, he notices an engraving - the mask maker's signature. It reads: surely-sims of Liera.
As Valarr runs his thumb over the engraving, he breathes a sigh of relief.
If Lady Muse hailed from the Kingdom of Liera as the mask indicated, he should be able to find her among the royals and nobles staying at Torrentine Hall...
just a few more story posts, before the event wraps up!
while Valarr may not have learned the identity of Lady Muse tonight, a few of other pairs will get the chance unmask & reveal their identities, concluding this part of the story.
massive shoutout to @starlightpixels and @wavvie for the mask related poses & object conversions of masks!
also a huge shoutout to @surely-sims - as many of the event attendees wore masks from The Midnight Masquerade collection.
keep an eye out for release of the poses, along with other cc from my collaborators @simstoricalish, @lechairschair, @sulsulzukohere, @thesimsoficeandfire, @bellevalentim, @kerosims, & @starlightpixels which will be available before the end of the event!
The day of the Swan Lake auditions arrived quickly, and classes were cancelled, so all students had all the time they needed. Not that they would have been able to focus on anything else, anyway.
It was still early in the morning, but the dorms were already bustling with the students running around trying to look their best and going over their dance routines one last time.
The girls' bathroom had been taken over by Celine and Rozaliya as their private dressing room. Their clothes and hair had to look especially neat for the occasion and, for Celine, so did the makeup. Finding the right balance between a too obvious look and a supernatural shine to match to theme was imperative. Thankfully, she had Roza to help her make it just perfect. Just the day before, she had gifted her an authentic swan feather to put in her hair, knowing how much it meant to her.
Celine had been planning for the auditions since the very first announcement. She had even asked her father for some pearls and a lovely new blouse to complete the outfit. Of course, he obliged, only asking for her promise that she would actually make the lead in return. As a response, she had simply smiled and said something about it being essentially already decided. Deep down, this promise had only made her feel nervous than she secretly already did, but the thought was easily pushed away by the aura of confidence she was so practiced in.
Now, as she was getting ready with her girlfriend, she almost felt like any other girl preparing for a school play, and less like the mayor's daughter trying to meet expectations. Sure, she loved ballet more than anything, but sometimes she wished it was all just a bit less stressful.
Nevertheless, if nerves were ever allowed, it was today, on the day it would all be decided. Still, she would never truly show it to anyone, just to be safe. The short but sweet moment they shared before leaving for the auditions had at least helped her feel calmer overall. With Roza always watching her with her supportive eyes, she felt like maybe there was some truth behind her claim for the role.

Celine: "Have you got any more face oil? You know I ought to look magical out there!"
Rozaliya: "Yes, just a second."
Celine: "Thanks, love!" *humming Waltz from Swan Lake (Act 1: No.2)*

Celine: "Well, that was quick!"
Rozaliya: *chuckles* "I sort of figured you were gonna ask for more."
Celine: "You know me well."
Rozaliya: "You are my girl, no?"
Celine: "As long as you are mine."

Rozaliya: "Ha! Of course. I know I can't talk you out of it, anyway."

As the music concludes, the conversation begins...
A Royal Masquerade - The Prince Converses
While our other attendees seek out entertainment, drinks, and food for the remainder of the ball - Prince Valarr heads to a quieter area of the open floor.
As he finds a seat among the many available, two of our most charismatic contenders' approach, and are the first to take their place on either side of him.
The Sea Maiden (by @honeysylvan) is the first to speak, telling the Prince of her many adventures on the open waters. Lady Lunara (by @queensoflumis) speaks next of her own travels, and the countless clans she has ventured to meet. In return, Valarr recounts a recent adventure of his own to the wordly women.
Taking the seats of the previous contenders, Lady Harlequin by (@applesaucesims) and The Pale Rose (by @lechairschair) are the next to approach. Full of energy and passion, they regal the prince with stories of parties and assassinations. While Valarr is initially able to engage in the conversation with both women, it eventually turns into a debate between the two - as to who had led a more exiting life thus far.
Changing couches, he sits next with Lady Light (by @houseofsimsgaryen) and Lady Hestia (by @jonquilyst). Perhaps overwhelmed by the nervous ramblings of Lady Light, the Lady Hestia struggles to get a word in - but then again, so does Valarr. Although beautiful and kind, it seems that meaningful dialogue with either of these ladies is out of the question.
Lady Andromeda (by @seyvia) and The Little Sparrow (by @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants) are the next take their seats besides Valarr. Sensing their nervousness of the pair, he finds himself opening the conversation this time. He speaks of his own nerves surrounding the event, and his hopes for true love. His openness calms the two, and in return, the two share tales of their own recent losses, leading to their search for love.
It is hard to say if our final ladies were simply patient, or if they were smart enough to purposefully wait and claim the final conversation with the young Dayne - but it seems to have paid off either way.
The Enchantress (by @invisiblequeen) and Lady Muse (by @starlightpixels) are the last to converse with the prince, standing closer to the water. The two intelligent women take the time allotted to them discussing the lands they hail from, and their goals to forge strong diplomatic relationships with kingdoms far and wide. By the end of the conversation between the trio, it seems that each of their kingdoms has gained allies - regardless of the event's outcome.
As he wraps up his discussion with final pairing, the clock strikes eleven. The end of the night is nearing, and Valarr must make a decision.
He has found 6 of the 10 with whom he conversed to be suitable matches. Surely given the chance, he believes he would be able to find the love that he desires with any of these women - but there can only be one...
want to know which these ladies are the final to move on to the public vote, and how? keep reading for more!
this final stat-based elimination round was decided, using the combination of points from the intelligence and elegance categories.
this one was pretty close - with our highest point combination being 13, and our lowest point combination being 9.
eliminated in the final round, with 10 or less points, we have Lady Light by @houseofsimsgaryen, The Pale Rose by @lechairschair, Lady Hestia by @jonquilyst, and Lady Harlequin by @applesaucesims.
this means that our final contenders for the poll are....
Lady Lunara by @queensoflumis, Lady Muse by @starlightpixels, The Enchantress by @invisiblequeen, The Sea Maiden by @honeysylvan, The Little Sparrow by @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants, and Lady Andromeda by @seyvia.
today's post comes a bit early, so that the poll can go live, tonight!
while the poll is live for the next three days, be sure to stay tuned for some side story & lookbook posts, as well as cc from my collaborators @simstoricalish @lechairschair @sulsulzukohere @thesimsoficeandfire @bellevalentim @kerosims & @starlightpixels!
the story will resume about a day or two after the final results are in <3
Dottie and Ruby immediately got to work on Louis's face. First, the obstacle that was his straw hat had to go. Then, Dottie searched through her makeup for the most fitting shades of blush and lipstick.
Meanwhile, Ruby was just as involved in the process, even though she was standing to the side of it all. Whenever Dottie was stumped about the best way to create a subtle but elegant look, Ruby jumped in with a second opinion that made each choice feel perfect in the end.
Trusting his sisters, Louis sat still throughout their project, though he could not help but laugh at their childish bickering interrupting their surprisingly effective teamwork every now and then.
Once the makeup was complete, the sisters took a moment to look Louis up and down and decide what was missing. Finally, they had come to the conclusion that they could not rely on their brother making the right decision for an outfit that matched the look perfectly, so they simply had to help with that, too.
Knowing that their mother was just downstairs, though she was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen, the twins sneaked to their parents' room as quietly as they could. Their school shoes were left abandoned in their bedroom, so the sounds of the steps would be muffled by their socks, just in case.
With a quick game of rock, paper, scissors, the girls decided Ruby was going to enter the room, while Dorothy would stand guard outside. Ruby could almost hear her own nervous heartbeat as she tiptoed into her parents' room. Slowly and quietly, she opened her mother's drawers, looking for some old jewels and feathers she certainly would not miss.
With her bounty in hand, she quickly slipped back out the door, signalling the success to her sister with a quiet smile. But the two girls could not help releasing a fit of giggles they had been holding in with their nerves. Possibly, they had not had this much fun together in years, but it felt to them like they were those little girls just a day ago.
Louis was still patiently waiting on the same stool, when the twins returned to their room. He barely had time to get a word in, when they were already pushing and pulling him around again.
First, his own clothes had to go. He could keep his undershirt, and some of his ballet garments were already fitting for the occasion. But his shorts were quickly replaced by an altered skirt from the twins' old costume collection. Then, it was back to the chair, so Dottie could slick back his hair in the most graceful way. Finally, Ruby placed the previously selected jewels, which she had carefully arranged with the feathers, on Louis's head.
After one last look at their work of art, the sisters gave each other a satisfied nod and urged Louis to turn around, so he could finally have a peek. He gasped as soon as he saw himself. It felt like a real ballerina was staring back at him, like the one he always dreamt he would be. Excitedly Ruby and Dottie pulled him up from his chair and dragged him to the big mirror to get a proper look at himself.
Stunned by the result, Louis just could not stop staring at his reflection and smiling with stars in eyes. With the cheers coming from his sisters, he already immersed himself in the thought of him performing like this in front of a real audience. Suddenly, any barriers in his way to achieve his dreams seemed to disappear.
After a small moment to himself, Valarr returns to the dance floor...
A Royal Masquerade - The Prince Dances (Part 2 of 2)
Following the slight from his close friend, Lord Aelor, Valarr makes careful choice of his next partner.
The prince kicks off his return to the floor with The Little Sparrow (by @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants), where the pair is joined by her escorts for a dance. Soren teases the young man, claiming the next dance should be reserved for Hjordis. Following this lively dance the tempo slows, and he takes his place besides Lady Hestia (by @jonquilyst).
his eleventh dance is full of laughter, as The Pale Rose (by @lechairschair) stumbles over her own two feet and on occasion, his. After such graceful partners during the last few dances, he finds himself relaxed by the difference in demeanor with this partner.
the twelfth dance of the night is claimed by The Moonlit Maiden (by @thesimsoficeandfire), who awkwardly, avoids any eye contact with Valarr. During his following dance with Lady Venus (by @florians-simblr), the mother of three seems to have her focus taken away from the prince, with her own daughters beside them on the dance floor...
Only two more dances remain for the night, and the heir to Starfall has his final partners in mind from the presentations made earlier in the night.
he takes Lady Harlequin's (by @applesaucesims) hand, for another slow-paced-dance. The look of relief on Lady Andromeda's (by @seyvia) face is hidden by her mask, but the change in her demeanor is clear as she is offered the final dance of the night.
the music finally dies down, and a moment of respite is in reach for Valarr. Having danced with most of the eligible ladies thus far, he has now come to another moment of decision making.
From the 14 ladies who he shared a dance with; he decides on 10 with whom he would like to converse.
this elimination piggybacks off of the previous post, where all sims were scored on initial compatibility & attraction from -2 to +2 (with -2 being the equivalent to a compatibility of "awful" and an attraction of "very unattracted", and +2 being the equivalent of "amazing" and "very attracted").
six sims were tied with a score of 2! as this was more than i was aiming to eliminate in this round, the luck stat came into play for these lovely ladies.
this time around, the highest number of points in this category was 5. the lowest was 2.
eliminated in this round, with a luck of 2, we have Lady Venus by @florians-simblr and The Moonlit Maiden by @thesimsoficeandfire.
moving on to the next round from this group we have The Pale Rose by @lechairschair, The Little Sparrow by @ethicaltreatmentofcowplants, Lady Andromeda by @seyvia, Lady Harlequin by @applesaucesims, and Lady Hestia by @jonquilyst.
as a reminder from our previous dances - we have also have Lady Lunara by @queensoflumis, Lady Muse by @starlightpixels, The Enchantress by @invisiblequeen, The Sea Maiden by @honeysylvan, and Lady Light by @houseofsimsgaryen moving on.
while you wait for the next round of elimination, be sure to check out my collaborators for more content @simstoricalish @lechairschair @sulsulzukohere @thesimsoficeandfire @bellevalentim @kerosims & @starlightpixels
there is one more round of stat based elimination, coming soon. after that, it'll be up to YOU to decide who Valarr pursues in the end!
