An untouched chocolate cake and a half-eaten strawberry cake. On the sixth chapter. Yana, we need to talk.
every single time I've rewatched the BotA movie (which is way too many) I've teared up at the flashback part. it's a pavlovian response at this point.
Musical Kuroshitsuji: Noah's Ark Circus
i absolutely love that sebastian reacts the moment he notices something is wrong with ciel. and yuta's facial expressions in the other gifs are incredible. no wonder he had such a strong influence on yana's version of sebastian.
Yuta's expressive face and his attention to the character's body language won me over from the very first moments. It's fascinating to watch him, even when he's not the center of the scene, because he never steps out of character, not for a single second. I mean, since Licorice, the approach to screenwriting has changed, and the musicals have become much better, but when it comes to the Sebastian as a character, I think Yuta himself has made the greatest contribution after all. Truly the greatest manga-only fan
While some people on twitter are lamenting that a sixth season hasn't been announced, I'm 1) glad that didn't happen (because there's a tiny chance that A1 will return to their child and I'm willing to wait if that's the case) and 2) hoping that the musical based on blue cult arc will be announced before the anime, because
This arc is literally made to be a musical?? Specifically a kuro musical, with all the experience they've accumulated since their first shows. I think it's necessary to give this particular musical as much attention as possible
I mean, they have so many opportunities, it would be a shame not to use them: they can interact with the audience before the musical even starts, just like they did in the circus musical; merch sales start before the show even begins — they can sell a ton of lightsticks (kuro lightsticks!! I want one so badd) and plan a moment during the performance when people can wave these sticks, blurring the line between the stage and the audience a bit. That would be bold, fun, and, most importantly, would fit perfectly with the manga canon!
As for the cast, the public school musical had incredible prefects, you don't even have to look for a good actors! Seriously, the arc itself isn't particularly dramatic, but the musical squeezed every last drop of potential out of it, and the acting during one particular moment (only prefect’s reprise, the 2021 one) gave me literal chills. I'd really love to see all of them back at the stage. Even if that means that Ciel will be once again played by the slightly stiff Eito
Although, if they put Yuta next to Eito… It could work out very, very well. No offense to Toshiki's fans — he's wonderful — but next to Eito, Toshiki seems a bit too sweet and even innocent to me. Yuta and all the other Ciels had the opposite problem: every interaction between a yunbastian and a child looked like Sebastian is kicking a sick puppy. Maybe a Yuta and Eito duo could finally restore the balance, idk
I KNEEEEW THAT WASN’T OUR IDIOT
I'll ignore this bit, thank you very much
So that’s what Rodney was after, huh. Good thing Sebastian went to see Nina before their journey, then

Musical Kuroshitsuji: Noah's Ark Circus
I lied, put your clothes back on. We're gonna watch all the musicals with Yuta Furukawa as Sebastian.
If you put me in the room made in the cloverworks style I’ll shoot myself I swear
Ciel in the smoking room rn

Not the butt teeth oh my god I can't do this anymore I can't I can't I ca—
what is your ideal ending for ciel and sebastian?
OMG HIIII
That's a tough one, because the ending I want to see become canon kinda contradicts the one I love the most :D
The first one is tragic. Since Black butler is, at its core, a tragedy, I don't think any ending other than that will leave me satisfied
I want Ciel to be eaten by Sebastian, never knowing if he ever meant anything more than food for a demon, or was it all some kind of clever play, and he lost and succumbed to temptation. I want him to die thinking he was right, and in the end, everyone around him did suffer: not-really-his fiancee, his only (self-proclamed) friend, his servants —dangerously injured or even dead
I want Sebastian to eat Ciel, to enjoy his meal, and to bury Ciel, unable to put a name to the feeling that begins to swell in his chest. I want the ache to come gradually, deepening with every visit to the grave he doesn't have to tend, with every glipse of that same ashen hair or those blue eyes he caches in the crowd, with every day he spends in London, ignoring any possible contract, until the realisation of what has happened and what he felt all this time hits him like a blow to the head. I want him to haunt the Earth, to not fit in anywhere, disguistingly human for a demon and too heartless for a human, and hating himself for doing the thing he was born to do
Basically, what Yana drew after S1, I guess? With a glimpse of self-reflection on Sebastian's side
Buut
I'm a sucker for a happy ending!
I'm a big fan of Ciel somehow losing his mortality and staying with Sebastian forever. This could happen by him being That One Soul Every Grim Reaper Is Looking For, or by becoming a demon/an angel, or even by killing himself for Plot Reasons and becoming a reaper (I've actually written a fic about that one lol), I don't really care
Probably the only thing I'd prefer here is for them to be uhhhh nice to each other? Well, as nice as they can be. And any forced bound, contract included, won't allow that, so they should be free and choose each other by themselves — not like in S2. Or maybe like that, but with them slowly getting closer in a hundred years or so? Idk. I just want them to terrorise people throughout centuries and enjoy each other's company
If Yana would somehow fit the second one into canon, I will be the happiest person ever, but I have no idea how to do that without messing up the story's tone soooo I guess the perfect ending for them to me is something deeply tragic and hopeless
I forgot it's June already
arguably ciel is not a normal person who you can be friends with but 🤫 tshh it's all true still
If not friend, why friend shaped? This cute little fag is very friendly and I'm sure he wouldn't hurt a fly!
