My grandma asked her doctors to take both of her breasts based on family history.  They were already taking one because of cancerous tumors, so she said "just take them both, please!"  She was exactly the age her mother was when the tumors appeared.  Her mother died a few years after her single mastectomy of cancer in the other breast.  The insurance company wouldn't approve my grandmother's choice.  My granny died of other causes, but I was still pissed when I found out they couldn't just take the other breast when she asked.  They were already going in there, how much more could it really cost?! Angelina's decision is definitely a rich woman's option, but maybe it will prompt discussion and some progress in the way of choices for those less fortunate. WTG rich beautiful lady.

My dog, Hattie, got this weird disease.  Watch your dogs around fresh water areas of the Pacific Northwest. I didn't even know this was a thing...and I didn't see her eating any fish on the banks last weekend - but apparently she found one and gobbled it. If you see your dog eating fresh salmon or trout, make them vomit and keep an eye on them for symptoms of SPD. It's very serious. Hattie is recovering at the dog hospital with an IV of drugs and saline.
