There are a lot of apps who tell you to make you sleep better. So is Sleep Better! #quantifiedself

Sleep Better you’ll awake refreshed & ready to seize the day!
Sleep Better offers you a simple and engaging way to improve your sleep behaviors. Whether you struggle to fall asleep, want to learn how your daytime activities (such as caffeine and alcohol consumption, workout habits and daily stress levels) influence your sleep efficiency or simply want some new tunes to help you wake up feeling great - Sleep Better you’ll awake refreshed & ready to seize the day!
Whilst I really love to sleep (really) and waking up is already hard, I've had fair success using sleep cycle in the past. It helped me 'track' some of the sleep rhytmn I had; told me how bad I was actually sleeping but woke me up quite fit and early each morning.
To be honest, it even 'felt' like magic, I've never felt over tired after starting to use it.
So is it possible to find anything better? To make you sleep better (or, to say, wake you up better?)
Sleep better is trying -for free at adds display cost- to make you feel that way. Of course it's bigger brother runtastic should help you decide on buying this; I'm not so super conviced.
Yes it looks sweet. Yes it 'seems' to track things, even though I don't even use it the way you should. It's dream journal is a big plus that other apps don't yet use; although it's use is too straight forward to be of use.
And for the QS (quantified self) movement? You've just found yourself another health compatible app!

If you’re as braindead as us, you might want to try mind mapping. #Mindnode is a great place to start!
MindNode makes mind mapping easy. Mind maps are a visual representation of your ideas, starting with a central thought and growing from there. This allows you to brainstorm & organize your thoughts in an intuitive way, so you can focus on the idea behind it.
Being featured by Apple as an “App Store Best”, MindNode has helped students, artists and project managers to be more creative with less effort.
You must know those moments. A lot to remember, a lot of things to do. A meeting you need to take notes from, an important coffee conversation with a potential new customers.
Remembering the details might be something you find hard to do, or maybe just to keep the general direction of the conversation mapped out?
Mind mapping helps here. My first time confronted with it was back when I had to do some 'brainstorming' and was looking for a structured way to communicate this.
After a couple of months looking, I found mindnode and never looked back. A good app on the iPhone, a great app on the iPad and a promising development on the mac. Enjoy our appsmack of the day!
Converting basic simple things never looked this good :-) #angstrom

Unit converters are usually boring and dull. But not anymore!
Converts units and currencies faster than you type.
There's not much to say about this app. It just simply works!
It makes a dull and easy task sexy and cool, and is greatly integrated with your clipboard just as well! Check it out, what do you think?
(oh and did I mention it's price? It's free!)
#fantastical, the #iPhone’s best calendar #app is back!
Developers website Direct iTunes download
Agilebits are some bad ass developers, I really like their style and way of work. Here's why they actually built apps (not only is it great for iOS devices, it's also available on your mac)
...and we create apps that are enjoyable and flexible. What do we mean by flexible? Apps that make your life better. Apps that remove frustration.
We're users too, so we know what a good user experience should be. If you're disappointed or frustrated with anything, please let us know. With many years of experience working on many popular apps, our hope is that our experience and passion comes through in everything we do.
I've been quite the fanatical fantastical (try pronouncing that for a couple of times) user, but I've changed calendars over the last months as well. There are quite some competitors and even Google is trying to eat some of the cheese left by Apple.
Simply put, Apple's calendar app doesn't get it.
Fantastical does. With easy input, the best widget (the reason I've created this video!) and it's robust and solid interface it -again- leads the pack. For now that is!
Thindering through your photo roll, #flic makes it easy as pie!
Flic is an easy to use photo manager that lets you delete pictures from your camera roll with the swipe of a finger. Save valuable time and free memory storage on your phone with Flic.

Even with today's bigger and bigger memories in smartphones, it's still a good habit to clean up your phone's memory once in a while.
I've tried several things and mostly it came down to downloading all images using dropbox or photo capture on mac, sorting out, filtering to (and through) lightroom and making an export for images to keep and but back on my phone.
But not anymore. Flic will remind me each month of the clean up to do, 'flicks' me through my memories and leaves me with what I think are my memories to keep. The rest is up to me.
The only thing I miss is being able to set certain pictures as favorite (double tap?) or hide. Two new iOS8 features I came to enjoy. But, nonetheless, just download this app :-) It's well worth the bit of dollars to spend!
Through with oldskool news and reporting? cir.ca will keep you connected, in a super simple package.

Follow the news you care about. Save time. Stay informed. Your Personal News Wire
The best way to stay on top of the big stories and news you care about.
The biggest problem I have with news right now is that's it's dull. Out of date, never really factual anymore and mostly 'politcally' colored. It just can't keep me triggered anymore. Cir.ca changed that for me.
Now it's full of relevant news, context, factually checked (for as far as that's possible in today's world) and will keep you updated on news, even when it's been a couple of weeks.
I really enjoy 'the wire', their most recent feature that brings you the most relevant news of the last 24 hours.
What's lacking? Local stuff. I live in Germany, not in the states. Bring the European edition please! Thanks :-)
Get calls from numbers unknown? No one picking up yours? #Calltag will give your calls context!
iTunes direct download link Developers website
Calltag lets you tag your phone call with information - calltags - on who is calling and why, which is great if you are calling from a unknown number and want to avoid being screened.
That's what the developers call it and I think it's a unique approach to a famliiar problem. I'm usually not answering my phone, especially when working or in a 'flow', it's just an interruption of a meeting, my coffee break or just when I'm in the bathroom. You know, doing my thing.
Calltag let's me send a small text first (using just the texting feature of your phone) and then dailing it after a preset amount of time.
It's as easy as I make it look, and as simple and fast as well. Reactions are mostly positive and even though people still don't pick up; at least they know why I've called and give it a sense of urgency to call back. Great work guys!
Mailbox has a serious competitor, Google’s Inbox is rolling out worldwide. Check it out in 15 secs!

Google recently announced:
The inbox that makes it all easier
Well I'll tell you this. This replaced mailbox for me. Which in it's place replaced Apple's mail. And Google's (stable but terrible) gmail web based client.
Google's is doing something really interesting over the last couple of weeks and has just released it's (I think it will) replacement Gmail inbox.
I'm personally blown away. The ease of use, the excellent use of context in an e-mail, the grouping I was familiar with in gmail, the great way of reply'ing and the simplification of mail are just some things to mention. It all feels so polished, so smooth; I can't wait for more from this new Google style!
You'll need an invite to try out, but feel free to repost this on your tumblr, send out a shout out on our twitter or regram anything of us to make a shot at one. I've got plenty to spare :-)
