“Courage, dear heart.”

“I like people who dream or talk to themselves interminably; I like them, for they are double. They are here and elsewhere.”
— Albert Camus
June entered abruptly after what had seemed like a never-ending season of isolation. June brought daylight and flowers and seasons of regeneration and love. I haven’t painted in words or colors as much recently, but June painted my eyelids with all shades of the sunsets I’ve missed. I imagine many of the corners of the world are left empty and dark. Turned upside down and inside out until we’re all tripping over each other’s grief. June didn’t promise for anything better, but June breathed heavy and harsh air into me and I can’t help but cough up its stories and daydreams.
“The mind I love must have wild places.”

“I don’t know what’s the matter with me, why I’m so adept at distance, why I feel so remote from things, why life feels like a rumor.”
—
“She says nothing at all, but simply stares upward into the dark sky and watches, with sad eyes, the slow dance of the infinite stars.”

“Mental illness turns people inwards. That’s what I reckon. It keeps us forever trapped by the pain of our own minds, in the same way that the pain of a broken leg or a cut thumb will grab your attention, holding it so tightly that your good leg or your good thumb seem to cease to exist.” - Nathan Filer, The Shock of the Fall
“Be sad! be glad! be neither! seek, or shun! Thou hast no reason why! Thou canst have none; Thy being’s being is contradiction.” - Samuel Taylor Coleridge, From Human Life, or the Denial of Immortality
