Hmm I wonder what's the most fucked up one I'd be willing to admit to?
Okay, so there is this one author / artist who embodies everything I love most about erotic art. I could easily write a whole essay on her, but I'll try to keep it somewhat short, since her subject matter is a bit... niche.
This began, as most of my stories do nowadays, with a depraved friend messaging me. She would send me screenshots from the author's notes at the end of these manga, which are all objectively hilarious:
Naturally, my curiosity was piqued. Now, as it turns out, these are from:
Ogu[おぐ](links), a Japanese doujinshi (self-published manga) author who specializes mostly in self-insert yuri loli medical urethral-insertion porn, along with her circle, known as Golden Tube.
I know, that's a lot to digest. Stick with me though, you're doing great.
So let me point out (a bit late) that her subject matter honestly does nothing for me sexually. I'd tell you if it did, I have no shame. But it's her outlook and philosophy that has been so genuinely inspirational to me.
Here, let me list a few facts about my favorite adorable little lesbian -
She originally started making manga simply because no one else was making the sort of content she wanted to see:
And she has been making her main series ("Oshikko Sensei", which I might translate as something like "Ms. Piss") for over 15 years now:
Despite her obvious skill, she seems totally disinterested in success or catering to readers, and appears to be only interested in making self-indulgent smut that she's personally really into:
She seems to have little-to-no plan for the story, but just does whatever seems hot at the time to her:
While mangaka are usually very defensive about piracy, she has been uniquely enthusiastic about helping western fan translators, actively reaching out to provide uncensored raws of the manga:
As a curious side note, she even included an easter egg in her manga referencing the scanlation group LittleWhiteButterflies:
I LOVE this whole mentality so much. Really! I have always said that what I love is artists who make things simply because they're deeply, sincerely passionate about it, without caring even slightly about what the general public might think.
I WANT people to be completely unashamed of their unusual fetishes and I want them to express their most impractical, dangerous, and concerning fetishes through art.
I know there's probably a lot of artists out there who do this general sort of thing. But there's just something about Ogu and the enthusiasm and joy that she brings to this, which transforms it from being something really repulsive into something that's oddly sweet.
...wow, I really went off on a crazy rant here, which almost no one is going to read, and which will probably loose me followers. Oops 😅
