Wake up, wake up if it’s all you do Look out, look inside of you
A fundamental part of healing is removing infection...
Watching impeachmentday twitter and I’m gonna get hives watching these fuckers not wear a masks properly
Not to mention this guy here who TAKES OFF HIS MASK TO SNEEZE INTO HIS HAND I-
"The Republican party is not intelligent, to put it mildly"
BROOOO WHY DID YOU TAKE YOUR MASK OFF AT ALL
Boomers: All right, which one of you are going to clean up our messes?
Millennials: What? Gen Z: What?
Millennials: Seriously? We have like no power. You ensured that most of us were saddled with crippling debt, and haven’t raised the minimum wage enough to keep up with inflation so we can never pay back that debt, and have barely enough income to share an apartment with one or two roommates. We’re lucky if we can find one with a washer and dryer in-unit within our price range! We’re so tired and over-worked that we barely have enough energy to text a friend or post a selfie on facebook to let people know we’re still alive. How are we supposed to clean up your messes??
Boomers: Whatever. Entitled lazy Millennials. Always on your phone and posting selfies. Maybe if you worked harder you wouldn’t be in debt. Always wanting things handed to you on a platter. It’s not all about you you know. Generation Me amiright?
Millennials: *sigh*
Boomers: All right, how about you, Gen Z? You’re fresh, young, haven’t got much debt yet, you have your whole shining future ahead of you! You can be an inspiration to the world! How are you going to clean up our messes?
Gen Z: Um, we don’t really have any power either. Most of us aren’t even old enough to vote.
Boomers: Don’t put yourselves down! You’re the future! Put your young minds to work! Maybe you’ll think of solutions we’ve never even considered! Let us know what they are and we’ll implement them for you!
Gen Z: Um, ok. Stop destroying the environment by switching to clean energy instead of drilling for oil. Cut your carbon emissions to slow and eventually halt climate change. Raise minimum wage and give people health care so that we survive into adulthood and can help you clean this mess.
Millennials: I mean, these are the things we’ve been trying to tell them for years, but maybe they’ll actually listen to you since you’re the bright shiny future.
Boomers: What? We wouldn’t even consider doing any of that! What do you know about politics, economics, and the environment anyway? You’re not even old enough to vote! Where do you think the money for all these changes is going to come from? Money doesn’t grow on trees.
Gen Z: Tax the rich.
Boomers: What?! The rich worked hard for their money! It’s really hard pleasing your parents so that you can inherit the fortunes! They have a right to hoard away all the wealth so that no one else can have any.
Gen Z: Okay Boomer.
Boomers: WHAT? How dare you insult us! You know, you’d get a lot more respect if you would try and talk to us instead of being so dismissive of everything we say!
Gen Z: *SIGH*
Things I’ve seen in Covid19 as an ICU nurse:
- a husband and wife admitted to icu, positive for covid after sending their two teenagers back to school when it opened. She coded and died yesterday. We wheeled her body into his room so he could say goodbye to his high school sweetheart from his hospital bed. We dont expect him to survive.
- 94 year old man, married to his wife for 64 years, both tested positive after a single visit to their dentist. It was the only “outing” they had since March. Because there are so few beds available, they were sent to separate hospitals. She stroked and died shortly after. He watched her funeral on FaceTime and never got to say goodbye.
- a 25 year old who flew home from another state because his mom was afraid and asked him too. He tested positive 3 days after his flight. He died 20 days later in our ICU.
- a father/son duo who run a manufacturing company, tested positive along with the majority of their employees. They both came to our ICU. Dad died. Son was able to leave the hospital 30 days later - he learned of his father’s death after leaving, for fear of impacting his recovery.
- A schoolteacher, working for special needs children, tested positive 1 week after her school mandated they reopen. She died 10 days later. Her last words before we intubated her were, “Im going to be your next survivor!” We told her she was right, but we all knew it wouldn’t happen.
- a 45 year old woman with a 6 and 8 year old at home. After 65 days, she never woke up due to hypoxic brain injury. She never made it off a ventilator.
- tiered nursing models, where ICU patients are being cared for primarily by nurses without ICU experience while one ICU rn gets placed as a “supervising” nurse over 5 ICU patients, and monitors the regular nurses care over them. Your loved ones not getting the appropriate level of care deserved because we have no staff left to care for them.
- patients who should be in ICU unable to come to the ICU because there are no beds available. Left on the regular floor in hospital with no additional supervision or coverage because there’s not enough staff to do so.
- patients that have been sent from out of state because their home areas have no room to take them. When these patients are close to end of life, their families are hard pressed to arrive in time to say goodbye.
- a unit opened as a tiered-staffing ICU where there is no negative pressure in patient rooms and no way to install them per maintenance. Nurses are going to be required to wear PAPR during their entire shifts without taking them off while working in that unit. So 12 hours without drinking water or eating unless you can leave the unit. Which it being tiered staffing - its not safe for the ICU rn to leave because there will only be 2 ICU nurses on the unit.
We are a long ways from having herd immunity with the coming vaccines. Please wear your masks. Dont go where you dont absolutely have to go. Wash your hands. This is not the time to go on new dates, have family gatherings or big game nights or get together. Please. You have called the nursing profession “the most trustworthy” for decades - and now when we beg you to listen, to wear a simple mask and social distance, you call us liars and the trauma we see these patients go through every day a conspiracy. Please. We are breaking.
Remember!
2020 may be over, but the pandemic isn’t
— Rep. Jim Clyburn
— Rep. Susan Wild
— Rep. Maxine Waters
— Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (in reference to the previous statement by Maxine Waters)
It’s important to note that all of the legislators making these points are women and/or people of color, and therefore would have been some of the primary people to be targeted and focused on by the insurrectionists and I think that needs to be emphasized.
wow funny how white house aides and cabinet members are capable of resigning and speaking against tr*mp now that they're all going to be unemployed in two weeks anyway and have nothing to lose
so very convenient to suddenly develop "morals" after four years just so you can be absolved in the court of public opinion and while he and his family go back to their gaudy penthouse and suffer no consequences other than MAYBE an exile from politics at the most you get to stroll right back into DC with a clean reputation and denounce him as if you weren't standing beside him cheering him on the whole way
If you too are wondering why impeach him with two weeks left: It strips him of secret service, lifetime pension, etc Most importantly, it bars him from running again. Plus, it’s their job.
do it
Just Fun Coup Things:
-Pence unfollowing Trump on Twitter and changing his banner to a photo from Biden's victory speech
-That blonde psycho woman who lost her seat to Rev. Warnock announcing that now that her personal safety was threatened by the chaos she helped create, she is no longer comfortable denying that Biden won the election.
-One of my friends in Maryland is cackling because a jackass GOP representative from his state almost got into a fist fight with the Democratic rep. after the Democrat called him a liar to his face.
-Betsy Davos pretending to have a moral compass and being the first cabinet member to resign, two weeks before they have to leave their jobs anyway, probably because she doesn't want to invoke the 25th.
-McConnells wife and others might also resign
-the white house counsel told all staffers to minimize their interactions with Trump because a) he was in a bad mood that his big revolution wasn't bigger and b) Trump ABSOLUTELY committed treason and if the staffers have too much contact with him than they risk being prosecuted as co-conspirators
-Tiffany Trump posted a birthday message to her brother like in the middle of the entire thing because of course she fucking did
-half the newspapers in the country are calling on their GOP representative to resign or encouraging them to be expelled from Congress
-most of the dudes who got into the Capitol were easily identifiable because there are cameras fucking everywhere and none of them wore masks and so they've already started being arrested and fired in their home states
Domestic terrorist masterpost
Masterpost of identified insurrectionists who participated in the violent attempted overthrow/coup of the US government on 7 January 2021.
Richard “Bigo” Barnett of Gravette, Arkansas, who broke into the Capitol and stole mail from Speaker Pelosi’s desk.
Jon Schaffer from heavy metal band Iced Earth under record label Century Media Records.
Known Nazi Matthew Heimbach.
Nicholas Rodean of Frederick, Maryland.
Photos and IDs courtesy of @HomeGrownTerrorists on Instagram.
Emily Lewis of Dayton, Ohio, now fired from her job at Taylor Communications.
Adam Johnson of Palmetto, Florida, seen here stealing a podium during the violent invasion of the Capitol Building. His wife is Dr. Suzanne Johnson at Davita Medical in Palmetto, Florida.
Pro wrestler James DeFalco aka “Jimmy Jact Cash”. Seen in the news previously for defrauding members of his now-bankrupt gyms of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Derrick Evans recently elected to West Virginia’s House of Delegates. It takes a special kind of domestic terrorist to try to overthrow the federal government while holding an elected position.
Jenna Ryan a realtor in Frisco, Texas. Are you allowed to hold a realtor’s license when you’ve committed a federal crime? I definitely wouldn’t want her having keys to my house.
Elizabeth Koch from Maryville, Tennessee. Props for outing yourself for federal crimes on national television. Double props for rubbing your eyes with an onion on camera and claiming you got maced.
Paul Davis former Associate General Counsel and Director of HR for Goosehead Insurance Company who fired him for domestic terrorism - and probably also gross incompetence. What kind of lawyer does a media interview while committing a federal crime? I’m guessing the State Bar of Texas is going to disbar him as well but we’re still waiting on that news.
Kristopher Drew licensed cosmetologist at Hair by Kristopher Drew. I’m not sure whether you’re allowed to be a cosmetologist and have a criminal record at the same time but I guess we’re about to find out.
Aaron Mostofsky son of Kings County Supreme Court Judge Steven (Shlomo) Mostofsky. Per the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, “Mostofsky’s brother Nachman, the executive director of Chovevei Zion, a politically conservative Orthodox advocacy organization, as well as a Brooklyn district leader and vice president of the South Brooklyn Conservative Club, also attended the rally Wednesday but did not enter the Capitol.”
Josiah Colt domestic terrorist and owner of FunnelCraft Co. in Boise, Idaho.
On the left is Nick DeCarlo from Murder the Media and on the right is Nick Ochs, Nazi and member of the Proud Boys. This pair of domestic terrorists posed for a photo inside the Capitol Building during their violent insurrection against the US Government.
Zach Crandall who outed himself for federal crimes.
Eduardo “Nick” Alvear seen here smoking pot inside the Capitol Building because why commit just one federal crime when you can commit two at once and document them both on film at the same time amiright.
Ben Thomas Crocker of Massachusetts. Apparently sedition and participating in a violent coup attempt makes you a “Maverick” these days.
Jenny Cudd founder of Becky's Flowers in Midland, Texas. Yes this domestic terrorist and white supremacist called herself out as a Becky. Even if you're fine doing business with seditionists (I'm not) I wouldn't recommend booking her for your next special event unless it's five to ten years out.
Dean Gomez, sales manager at Kevin Harris Allstate Agency, who was part of the attempted coup and tried really hard to break in to a federal building but didn't quite manage it. Is your presence at a violent insurrection and intention to overthrow the federal government enough to land you in prison? I guess we'll find out.
Jason Alexander (yes that Jason Alexander), domestic terrorist. #FreeBritney but Jason Alexander belongs in prison for federal crimes.
In regards to what happened yesterday (Jan 6th 2020), Rep. Cori Bush is calling for signatures to hold those at fault accountable for the coup. They’re very close as of 8:30 AM EST, but you can sign here.
NON AMERICANS: PLEASE DO NOT SIGN. THIS NEEDS AMERICAN SIGNATURES ONLY. PLEASE GO DONATE TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND PEOPLE IN NEED. DO NOT FAKE A NAME AND ZIP CODE. /srs
Fighting Covid When Kept Home
This was shared on a Covid survivor group…have heard many of these before but it seems helpful: HOW TO FIGHT COVID AT HOME when you are not hospitalized.
“When the nurse came in to discharge me, I asked her, What can I do to help fight this at home? She said:
1. Sleep on your stomach at all times with Covid. If you can’t sleep on your stomach because of heath issues sleep on your side. Do not lie on your back no matter what because it smashes your lungs and that will allow fluid to set in.
2. Set your clock every two hours while sleeping on your stomach, then get out of bed and walk for 15-30 min, no matter how tired or weak that you are. Also move your arms around frequently, it helps to open your lungs. Breathe in thru your nose, and out thru your mouth. This will help build up your lungs, plus help get rid of the Pneumonia or other fluid you may have.
2. When sitting in a recliner, sit up straight - do not lie back in the recliner, again this will smash your lungs.
3. While watching TV - get up and walk during every commercial.
4. Eat at least 1 - 2 eggs a day, plus bananas, avocado and asparagus. These are good for Potassium.
5. Do not drink anything cold - have it at room temperature or warm it up. Drink Pedialyte, Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero & Water with Electrolytes to prevent you from becoming dehydrated. Water with lemon, and little honey, peppermint tea, apple cider are good suggestions for getting in fluids. No milk products, or pork. (as a singer I know milk products produce phlegm and always advised my students to have none for 3 days before a performance)
6. Vitamins D3, C, B, Zinc, Probiotic One-Day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever. Mucinex, or Mucinex DM for drainage, plus helps the cough. Pepcid helps for cramps in your legs. One baby aspirin everyday can help prevent getting a blood clot, which can occur from low activity.
7. Drink a smoothie of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, honey, tea and a spoon or two of peanut butter.
We always hear of how Covid takes lives, but there isn’t a lot of information out there regarding how to fight Covid when you are not critical. I hope this helps you or someone you know, just as it has helped me.”
(Wow, @thetimetostrikeislater wish you’d had this info when you were ill)
@cptdorkery @fortheloveoftrekuniverse @peridotsarelongterm
I definitely wish I had this info when I contracted Covid back in March😓 it was so hard on my lungs! and I couldn’t go to the hospital because it was too full. Stay safe my friends.
“we all know why” just say it’s because they’re white. say it out loud with your whole entire chest. trump supporters aren’t being stopped from storming government buildings because THEY! ARE! ALL! WHITE! that’s it. just say it.
I would like to wish everyone an uneventful new year
May we live in very uninteresting times
2020 was a shit show
