I received a notification that Set Adrift turns 8 today. I forgot about this account to be honest. 😅 A lot of things have occurred but sometimes when looking back on it, they weren’t all life changing. Well, except that one time my boyfriend and I was hit by a car. I might vent about it on another post because sometimes I’m not sure if I’ve full processed that event. 🧐
I think I know the answer to my dilemma. I don't want to act on it though. But I know that I have to in order to move on. It's going to hurt for sure. I'll probably be going through emotional love withdrawal for a while. Something like that.

You know what sucks? When I’m having these dreams about my ex and it’s as if we are getting back together. I feel so happy in these dreams but then I realize these are just dreams and I feel my heart plummeting again. Emotional roller coaster I tell ya.
I think the universe works in really strange and fucked up ways. But it works to guide us in a direction that can improve our lives right? Yesterday I was finally brought back into reality about a certain situation I was in. It took a few months and although I knew what I was doing would hurt me in the end I was kind of in denial about it. It finally happened where I had to see with my own eyes that this situation I'm in will not work out. I needed to end it then because what I was feeling was terrible. It definitely felt like another break up and my heart definitely aches. It aches because I can see now I mean nothing more than a friend with benefit. Even though I went into it knowing that I didn't want anything more than just physical, it felt like it was a little more than strictly physical. It was a little more than a friend with benefit but not enough to say it was an exclusive relationship. And I admit I already knew a few months into this that I had grown this attachment to him again I didn't want to end it just yet because I didn't want to lose the opportunity for sex and intimacy. Now I have actually ended it. It was a cordial exchange and no drama came out of it which is great. But I must be honest and say I still feel quite bad. That kind of ache that resides between your chest and stomach is what I'm feeling now. I know it's going to suck for a little while and I'm scared about how I will feel in the next few days. But I've gone through these things before and somehow I have lived. I know the feeling of loneliness is lurking around the corner. I accept it because it's a natural thing. I just don't want it to consume me.
Tonight I feel really sad. I'm sad that my secret Santa dinner didn't really go as well as I would have liked. I'm sad that the gifts that I got for certain people didn't seem appreciated. I'm sad that I think I may still have feelings for my ex boyfriend. I'm sad from reminiscing on past memories I had with my first boyfriend. I'm sad that I haven't gotten my life together at all. I want to cry all of this out of me.

Why do I always get so upset whenever someone tells me to lose weight? I feel like I should be desensitized from that topic by now and should be able to easily ignore it. But every time I can’t help but cry. It's always so interesting to me how after that my whole self worth, confidence, and mental state just shuts down. My mind just keeps going like fuck that, fuck this, and fuck them. Fuck all of that shit why do I need to care about this anymore?
I have to remember that my emotions, my worries, and my pain are no less valid or less important than anyone else's. I shouldn't feel ashamed or foolish for feeling anxious, sad, hurt, or anything for that matter. There were times when someone I wanted to confide in will compare my story to others and try to make it seem insignificant. They'll make me feel like i shouldn't be allowed to feel scared or sad because what I went through is nothing compared to the atrocities happening every where else around the world. They'll say "big deal..." And those two words just invalidated everything I wanted to express. When I try to confide to someone things I've held back because I can't handle holding it back anymore and it backfires on you. It sucks when I do confide in someone and their response is nothing what I hoped for and makes me feel more worthless than I already do. Is it tough love? Am I not strong enough to handle that kind of thing?
