Your diligence is amazing, Koguma.
My Goldfish was Shattered to Pieces...
Unsure if it has been made already (or rather, it seems to be private? I couldn't find it), so I made a community for Akane-banashi in here. I hope we can all get along well.
I want more people to consider Guriko/Koguma... I see it as a mirror/redirected version of his bond with Shinta myself, in a way.
For such a pessimistic person like Koguma is—prone to getting lost in his own head—it is always nice to have someone who'll understand your circumstances but also help you out of the spiral, even when you're being difficult.
I'd say Guriko is one of the only people to truly see Koguma (even if neither are good at emotional support—not due to lack of awareness of the problem, but because their own issues make it difficult.) It's clear that their bond is close, and that Guriko knows him well, if not best (as far as you could know a guy like him, at least...) He's the one to tell us about the lengths of his intelligence, and to realize when he's sulking, and to whom Koguma has opened to about the reasons of his in-depth research, and... (trailing off.)
I also enjoy that Guriko treats him normally... Of course, there's the respect that comes from Koguma being his senior—but I like how “alive” Koguma feels next to Guriko. Not moping, not reminiscing, but allowed to participate in gags, too. Forgetting that sense of solemnity and inferiority for a while and being human. Embarrassing, even. Never bad about himself, though. Guriko doesn't see Koguma as lesser-than, a loser, or a child because of his looks or personality. He holds him in high regard. With him, Koguma isn't just some helpless apprentice whose worth relies solely on his performance personality, but someone to admire no matter what side of himself he shows. For someone with issues regarding his own worth like Koguma, I see it as a perfect fit.
Pieces I'd finish if I had the skill for them
Given Akane's impersonal, lighthearted performance, I wonder if Kaisei's will be the opposite.
I'd like to keep pushing the agenda of Kaisei being a person with BPD. For his God of Death, I want to believe that whether Akane's performance sends him into a panic state or into a rage spiral (or both), it will influence his portrayal into one extreme or another.
Overall, however—I think that Kaisei might win, or at best—it will be a tie, for he has spent his life with a God of Death himself. If his performance is personal, he will excel at it.
Wonder if people care about this ship so that I color it...
I really hope that Koguma is shorter or the same height as Akane if his specific height is ever revealed.
I want that old man. It's all I have to say. Thank you.
Possibly a reach, but I want to share my thoughts. About Kaisei's new hairstyle and now constant upset expression... The length has me wondering—were he to unstyle it, I think it'd cover his face. The same way his bangs did when he was little. I wonder if such a scene will be used to symbolize anything. Perhaps fallout or emotional regression.
