I noticed that fans of SU always have the need to preface “it’s not perfect but…” every single time they just want to gush about how its LGBT+ rep positively impacted their life or whatever and I just wanna say……you don’t need to do that. like I get that saying it’s flawed is technically true but that applies to literally any piece of media ever made…all of it…people indulge in terrible fuckin garbage with no redeeming qualities and with reckless abandon every single goddamn day and some of them are the same unhinged individuals who go apeshit in any post that even mentions SU because for some reason the words “steven universe” activates a sleeper agent in people that makes them lose any semblance of self-control and critical thinking skills they might’ve previously had and I know that’s why you’re afraid to talk too positively about it but I’m just saying I THINK you’re allowed to say you like this cartoon that helped you feel being gay and trans is ok
