god gave up on us — good for him
Nightmares, dreams or rêveries • Gustave Doré (1832-1883)
Ramiel fell from grace alongside his Watcher brethren due to the taking of mortal wives, mating with them, and then teaching forbidden knowledge. Ramiel's name translates to "Thunder of God", or God's Thunder, as the word itself is a combination of the words ra'am and God.
It is said that the impact from the fall shattered Ramiel, sending his thunderous essence across the earth. Tremendous storms formed during this period and clouds blanketed the sky for decades over the region where he fell. Despite being broken, the fallen angel eventually rose once again, having lost much of his holy essence but still surprisingly alive.
Unfortunately for the other fallen, Ramiel has not been the same since his fall...

An Unfortunate Observation
Hours before before Jacob’s boat arrived at Wexford’s docks:
Estefania’s days had gone by quickly. With Jacob, Carolina and Slania gone, she was left in charge of Wexford, with her husband Leviticus helping her, and with Finnegan Hall occasionally stopping by to advise her and given her any needed information regarding the citizens. It had not been easy, but she still found herself up to the challenge. She had enjoyed the challenges that came with being Etihad’s high councilwoman, and she enjoyed navigating the complex politics of Wexford. Wexford was a northern city state, founded by northerners and now run by a man who was half Scandinavian himself. But the second biggest group were the Gaels/Celts, and their influence was growing in Wexford, most likely thanks to Slania practically being second in command after the Adairs. So, Stef had to make sure to resolve any dispute between the Northerners and Gaels fairly. Jacob and Slania had done a great job in making sure that the two groups were amicable, despite the differences in culture, and Stef did not wish to be the one to disrupt that.
Shadid Zamorar had arrived to Paraiso quietly, in the middle of the night. He did not wish for his presence to be widely known yet, as this was a private trip rather than an official one. He had arrived not because of the letter he recieved from Ulises Arazola, but because the letter that accompained it, written by Councilwoman Luisa Arazola. There, she wrote to him not as a councilwoman who wished for his support in her cousin’s plans towards Kinghood, but rather, as a distressed friend who had something terrible happen to her. Shadid and Luisa had grown to be good friends, and he found himself worried enough to make the trip.

A few days before Ceasg left the southern region the first time:
His recovery had been shorter than expected, but still difficult nonetheless. In his battle with Vergil Delacruz, he had nearly broken every part of his body. If it wasn’t for Deva, he would have been dead. She saved him from death before, and she had done it again. He wanted to thank her right away, but it seemed that she desired to keep her distance for reasons he did not know.
As he healed, he eventually called for his cousin, Luisa. Luisa’s heartbreak was evident as soon as he saw her. She looked so torn up and defeated, it broke his own heart seeing her that way. She wept over him, telling him how scared she was that she would have lost him too. Then, she grew more distressed when he finally mentioned Edward Delacruz, telling him that she had no idea about his true identity and was decieved herself. He believed her immediately. That sort of grief was incredibly hard to fake. But then, Luisa informed him that she believed Samira was decieved or taken hostage by Edward and Aurora Delacruz, which greatly concerned him. Now, the Delacruzes had taken ahold of a family member of theirs. A few days later, a letter from Netos Murbarak came in, asking if his daughters were alright as he hadn’t heard from either of them. That made Ulises’s worry grow even more.
“Rising from the ashes, I am born again, powerful, exultant, majestic through all the pain.”

Myths around the world challenge @thewinedarksea & @ibuzoo
Jewish Mythology | Watchers
Also possibly derived from pagan mythology is the story of the “Watchers” (Genesis 6:1-4). According to this story, heavenly beings once descended to earth, intermarried with humans, and produced the nephilim, “the heroes of old, men of renown”. Jewish tradition regards those heavenly beings as wicked angels, but the myth may represent a fragment of pagan mythology about gods interbreeding with humans to produce heroes.
Luisa had no words to describe the emotional agony she was feeling. She felt like she was in a never-ending nightmare that she couldn’t wake up from.
Her beloved Kisu was none other than Edward Delacruz. He was a Delacruz, the grandson of the man who almost eliminated her family.
He took her heart, shared her bed, and the entire time, he hid who he truly was from her. It was the deception that truly hurt her the most. She felt betrayed, and utterly humiliated. It was only a matter of time before everyone found out what happened.
Everyone would soon find out how stupid and naive she truly was.
A rash had begun to spread throughout her body. Physicians had examined her, and could not find a physical reason for it. So, they told her it was stress, and urged her to at least eat to regain strength. But Luisa had no appetite. She refused food for days, and instead, spent them in bed, weeping and sobbing. She slept little, because when she did, she dreamt of him.
Eventually, she one day woke up and felt a little numb. The pain had subsided just enough for her to keep down a few grapes and a few bites of bread. She still felt a deep sorrow that overwhelmed her. It took away the taste of the food she ate.
It took away the brightness that her love for Kisu had brought her.
She had been left behind in a world full of gray.
Humans always looked so odd when they slept. Sometimes, they looked tranquil, whisked away in a happy dream. Other times, they looked perturbed, haunted by nightmares. But, no matter where their minds took them, they always seemed like in a state between death and life. They looked dead, yet they breathed. They were in a place of limbo.
As she watched Ulises Arazola sleep, Deva wondered if that’s what it truly was.
It had been a few days since the happenings between the Arazolas and the Delacruzes. Ulises had faced Vergil head on, and would have died had it not been for Deva’s interference. Now, Ulises lay in his bed, still recovering from the wounds he had sustained.
The public, to her knowledge, had only heard about Vergil Delacruz. They heard that he attacked Ulises and Ulises had somehow beaten him against all the odds. They heard nothing about Aurora Delacruz. They absolutely knew nothing about Edward Delacruz. Nevertheless, Raquel De Corona seemed more keen to make sure Ulises fully recovered before they made a decision on what to do with the information they had.
Luisa Arazola was still resting as well. Deva suspected that she too had wounds, but hers were of the mind and heart rather than her actual body. She had observed that Luisa spoke to no one. She barely ate, and when she wasn’t asleep, she was weeping in her bed, sobbing for hours. Maids tending to her had whispered to each other that Luisa even developed a terrible rash on her body, possibly from all the stress. Deva did her best to not feel anything when observing this, but she found herself feeling sorry for the woman just a little bit.
Deva had decided not to speak to Ulises while he was in the first stages of recovery. She knew he saw parts of her fight with Vergil. She knew he could not comprehend what he saw, and she did not wish to stress him any futher while he rested. Admittingly, she was also frusterated that he did not call for aid when he was about to be fatally harmed by Vergil. She was about to capture Edward and Aurora Delacruz alive, when she just so happened to hear his painful battle cry. It was too close a disaster for her liking. For those reasons, she wanted to a wait a while before speaking to him again. So, she had patched him up and simply observed him from afar, or when he slept.
That night, she checked his wounds. Post battle, Ulises had sustained internal bleeding, broken ribs, a dislocated arm, and there were multiple fractures on both of his legs. He was healing up faster than a normal human’s, which he had her to thank for, but his injuries were so severe, his body still required some time to recuperate. She then looked at him, and without thinking twice, she brushed away strands of sandy hair from his forehead.
“You silly boy.” She muttered, watching him as he peacefully slumbered.
She didn’t know why, but what had begun as a business transaction had started to become something else. A part of her hoped that Ulises would get what he was aiming for.
That part of her also wanted to see Ulises win it all.
