Khadgar didn’t know why the ruling council couldn’t have just teleported him to Stormwind, but he hadn’t really been given a choice or a chance to act. He had been given his letter to the Grand Magus, gathered his belongings, and given a horse to ride to Keel Harbor in Gilneas. On one hand, it didn’t bother him too terribly much, as it afforded him time to read and prepare for his apprenticeship, but on the other hand, it was dreadfully inefficient. Perhaps it was all part of the plan that he would die en route rather than at the hands of Magus Medivh.

From Keel Harbor, he would take ship to Tiragarde Sound in Kul Tiras, and from there, south to Stormwind. He imagined he’d be on foot from there, all the way to Karazhan.

The road had been quiet enough, and he had been able to make camp off of the main road in the foothills before turning west towards Silverpine. There had been a small hot spring there, fed from the mountains, and this was where Khadgar had chosen to wash up for the evening. He settled into the water, dark hair damp, letting the warmth soothe his saddle sore muscles. Only a youth of seventeen, he still bore much of the marks of youth, despite his broad, strong shoulders and the shock of white in his hair.
