Being able to see the dead your whole life was as horrifying as it sounded, but when you grow up in a family of mediums, this is considered normal. Of course the occasional nightmare and jumpscares caused by ghosts is inevitable, but luckily that only happens when it's a really bad case.
However, you might have to take that last statement back. For the past month it has been a nonstop influx of spirits coming to you for help. Normally that would be great in the sense that these spirits want to cross over, but helping spirits one after another for a whole month without a break really drains you, physically and mentally.
Sleep deprived, you rested your forehead on your desk and let out an exhausted sigh. While you stayed in that position, you heard a soft knock on your office door.
“Come in.” You said, eyes closed and head still down on the desk.
The door opens slowly and you hear clothes rustle against the doorframe, like someone is trying to sneak in without getting caught. The door lets out a groan as it closes fully. You finally lift your head off the table to look at who entered. Hu Tao. Your distant cousin and boss who was slumped against your office door and let out an exhausted sigh, nearly identical to your own a few minutes ago.
“Aiya, the clients just keep piling in. I managed to help all the ones that showed up today, but they're definitely going to be more coming soon. In the meantime, Mr. Zhongli is stuck with taking care of our living clients.”
She lets out another sigh and soberly looks down at the carpet beneath her.
You both sit in silence with the occasional sigh in between until your phone rings, bring you and Hu Tao out of your sighing fest. You scramble to find your phone in your bag and when you pull it out, the caller ID reads: Lieutenant Wong. Hu Tao is now hovering over your chair to read what's on your phone and gives you a look that says, “what does he want now?”. You shrug and answer the call, but all you are met with is the lieutenant’s gruff voice saying, “Met me at the station, my office at two.” and the call ends. You slowly lower your phone from your face, bewildered by how short the call was, confusion written all over Hu Tao's face.
“I guess I'm going to the police station. ” you state while getting up from your chair.
“What about the deceased?” Hu Tao asks as you are grabbing your bag and coat. You turn enough to see her in the corner of your eye and reply, “Don't worry I'll get the job done, even if it means staying late to do so.”
As you are closing the door to your office, Hu Tao speaks, fondness evident in her voice,
“You always do.”

Heizou has always been a man of logic and prided himself on his intuition, but this situation was something he never thought would happen.
Liyuean police officers letting a random civilian into a crime scene. And that civilian is just walking around like a murder didn't just happen.
What was the point of the consent decree if they are blatantly disregarding it? Did the Liyuean police really have such little faith in his abilities?
Heizou closed his eyes and shook his head in disappointment before calmly walking toward the so-called police officers to confront them.
“Excuse me officers, I'm Detective Shikanoin Heizou, you know, the famous detective from Inazuma. The one sent under the consent decree to monitor the police. The detective in charge of this case. So, with that said, may I ask why you let a civilian enter the crime scene without my permission?”
The officers went wide-eyed and stiffed the more Heizou spoke. They became increasingly silent, especially when Heizou finished talking with his eyes closed and a tight lipped smile on his face.
The shorter officer of the two decided to speak up and stuttered out an apology.
“I..I.. I"m sorry s…s…sir. We don't mean any disrespect! But.. uh… that civilian is actually a medium, sir! Lieutenant Wong commanded us to let them enter no matter the circumstance.”
Seriously? A medium at a crime scene? It almost seems like the lieutenant is mocking me because of the consent decree. Does he think I'm just going to let this slide?
Although peeved, Heizou continued the conversation to gather a little more information.
“Really now? That's the first I heard of this arrangement. Is this a common practice in Liyue to have mediums at crime scenes? Or is this just a new thing the lieutenant implemented without briefing me?”
“Although it is common practice in Liyue to seek out mediums, we do not use them for police investigations or in the courtroom as evidence. I'm simply here due to a favor.”
Heizou whipped his head around to find the voice that just spoke and was clearly eavesdropping in on his conversation. There stood the civilian, or rather the so-called medium, clairvoyant, psychic.
“Oh? So, this is your first time doing this sort of thing? That's not suspicious at all. You could just be a normal citizen, faking your ‘ability’. You're not exactly eluding ‘I can talk to ghosts’.”
The medium chuckled, a small smile adorning their face.
“Well, you're not wrong. There's no real definitive way to prove I'm a ghost whisperer, so you just have to take it at face value. Don't worry. I won't be in your hair for much longer.” Their smile now gone as they looked off into the distance, “The victim has already passed over, so I'll let you do your job Detective.”
The medium started to walk away, ducking under the police tape and raising their right hand as a small gesture of saying goodbye.
Heizou watched as their figure got farther and farther away until it disappeared behind a building.
“Man alive, guess it's time to get back to work.”

Hello everyone who's still here wait for me to update Dear Detective after a whole year of nothing new.
I'm sorry to inform you all that I will be discontinuing it due to lack of inspiration/ motivation. The more I try to write it, the more plot holes I find in my story and the more I hate the direction it's taking. Luckily for me, the last chapter ended on a open ended note so y'all can create whatever scenario you all wish.
With that said, I do not plan on stopping any writing that I have in progress. Yes it's taking me awhile to write those oneshots I posted about, but I am not giving up on them.
Lastly, I would like to announce that I will be creating a new Shikanoin Heizou X Reader series. It may take awhile to finally post it, but I am definitely happier with the plot.
Thank you to everyone who has stayed with me this entire time and I hope you enjoy the new content!
an | My sister's youngest bunny passed away today and she feels guilty even though she did everything she could to save him. I wanted to write something to get it off my chest. Rest in peace little buddy.

It's all my fault.
I should have come sooner.
Why did they have to go?
Why couldn't it have been me instead?
All these thoughts were running in Xiao's mind as he sat in front of the stone statue that was once his childhood friend. However, not one tear was shed having found out about his friend's demise. Perhaps it was because he knew that this would happen regardless of what he did. His friend was stubborn and never took no for an answer. Even he had a hard time convincing them to change their mind on certain topics, not like he cared for those things all that much anyway.
Xiao remembered the time they met, before Rex Lapis and even before his capture. Two young adepti coming across one another in a field of glaze lilies. They had only met that one time, but that meeting had a big impact on both of them. However, soon after, Xiao was captured and forced to do awful acts of violence against innocent people. It was only after being rescued by Rex Lapis that he met his friend again. They had become an exorcist who was able to cleanse god remains, but having to do so took a toll on their body. After centuries of performing exorcisms, they had dark markings all over their body and had lost their eyesight completely. This was the point where Xiao noticed their change in demeanor. They were still stubborn as hell, but they became soft spoken, started to talk to themself more often, and would go off into the mountains to just sit.
There was a time Xiao had decided to join them on the mountain top when they kept muttering under their breath,
“A sacrifice must be made.”
At the time, Xiao believed that they had gone crazy, but now sitting in front of their statue that was made with their corpse, it had never been more clear. His friend could see the future and knew the outcome was not in Rex Lapis's favor. To prevent such calamity, his friend needed to seal the lingering god souls into a host so that they could have a physical form. However, in order to completely get rid of them, his friend would also need to kill the host. Not willing to kill another adeptus, they decided to become the host and perform the exorcism, killing themselves in the process. Their sacrifice saved everyone, but in the end, they didn't get the recognition of being a hero, they were forgotten.
--------------
The sun was high in the sky, its rays of light grazing the land of Liyue. People were already out and about starting to work, but not everyone. The young adeptus was on a mountain top, paying his respect to his friend. His friend's statue has been long gone as erosion took its course. All that is left of it is a small lotus censor.
Lighting three incense, he bowed three times, and placed them into the censor. As he finished his prayer, he looked out to the city below.
Children running freely on the streets, flying their kites in the ever vast blue of the sky. Merchants calling to any passerby that might be interested in their wares. Elderly, strolling through the gardens while reminiscing their younger years. It was peaceful.
“Is this what you wanted to show me?” Xiao whispered into the wind. With a final bow and a small smile on his face, Xiao bid farewell to his friend.
“May you rest in peace for the next millennia as well.”
I know it's been awhile since I posted the poll on the model! scaramouche x photographer! Reader and don't worry it's currently in the works. However, I struggle in coming up with names, so if you could leave your suggestions that would be great. Can be a male, female, or gender neutral name. Also, names not used in the scara fic can be used in other fics.
Thanks for being patient with me and my slow writing! I really appreciate it!
I wanted to know if Kazuha (freedom oneshot) actually got rid of his soulmate mark and the string cuz it’s implied I think- right but I couldn’t tell clearly cuz I’m slow idk TT it was awesome btw I just found u out and I really enjoy the way you write I hope you’ll keep going
😭😭😭 Thank you for the kind words!
When I was writing it, I wasn't really sure myself if it was implied enough, so I'm glad it got through. In the Dear Detective series(?), I plan to explain the process, but haven't gotten around to writing it 😅
For those who read Dear Detective, would you like the "soulmate" to be referred to as male, female, or gender neutral?
The next chapter may have something to do with this information.
Recently, my real life has been rather interesting in the "romance" department. It seems like one of my classmates is "pinning" for me (is that even the right word to use?). We only talk after class when we're walking toward the parking lot, which it only like a 5 minute walk at most. It seems pretty oblivious that he likes me, but being aroace, I have no interest in being in a romantic relationship which is kind of hilarious and ironic because I write about having relationships with fictional characters.
Basically, my idea is to use this new found experience as a oneshot prompt and I didn't know who to choose, so I made a wheel of who I would write it for.
Not gonna lie, I was kind of rooting for Kazuha or Freminet.
Oh well, I guess I'm writing for Lyney lol.
And yes, I tried to put the characters in their colors but as you can see not all of them lined up that well 🙃
I'm thinking of doing a scaramouche x reader but which prompt would you like to see first?
model! scara x photographer! reader
more than a married couple, but not lovers au
Voting ended onMar 28, 2024
If you don't know what More that a married couple, but not lovers (Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman) is, it's about two high schoolers who are paired up to be practice "husband and wife" and have to live with each other for the rest of the school year. However, they both have someone else they like, but need to score high points in order to change who they live with. If you want to check it out I'll put a link to where you can read above. It's quite suggestive so if you aren't into than then don't click the link.
The idea is that scara and reader are assigned to be "husband and wife" and it's going to be an enemies to lovers sort of troupe.
Depending on how far I want take this, both prompts could be come series.
an | I had most of this written 6 months ago and in the end I got rid of most of it. Oh well. Also, I'm probably just going to update whenever I finish a chapter, but again that depends on my brain. Perhaps my brain finally gave me inspiration due to the lack of Heizou content in game. #where'sHeizou #bringHeizouback

“A flower shop?! If this is your way of telling me to get more in tune with nature, you’ve made your point.” Heizou said with an unamused look.
Kazuha only gave a small closed eyed smile before opening the door to the shop. A soft chime of a bell rang as the door creaked open wide enough for the three males to enter the store. As the door closed behind them, the bell chimed again prompting Heizou to look behind him. The usual bell at the top of the door was nowhere to be seen and instead there was a small bell on a red string tied to the doorknob. The red string holding the bell was decorated with five coins strung in a row leading to a red tassel. Curious of its significance, Heizou was about to tap Xiao on the shoulder, however, the sweet voice of an older woman interrupted his thoughts.
“Well, if it isn't Xiao and Kazuha. Here for some flowers… or something else? Perhaps something to do with that friend of yours?”
The older woman said as she motioned her head in Heizou's direction. Her gray hair was tied in a neat bun with a jade hairpin stuck in it while her apron and gloves were speckled with dirt. She quickly wiped her gloves on the apron before taking both items off.
“Keen as ever, Auntie. We acquire your expertise in a certain field.” Kazuha says.
“I see. How about we move this discussion somewhere more comfortable.”
-------------------
The woman introduced herself as Qingxi, but said that everyone calls her Auntie and wishes Heizou do the same. Although Heizou wasn't really sure what was going on, he had a hunch that there was more to this lady than meets the eye.
As they settle into an enclosed outdoor patio, Auntie says that she will be right back with some tea and heads off back into the store. As the three boys sit in silence, Heizou takes a look around the room.
Compared to the shop which has a rustic charm, the patio was quite modern. The coffee table that they are sitting around is bare except for a vase of flowers that sits in the middle. The rest of the room is actually quite bare due to the three walls of windows, however, there is one item that does not fit in with the modern room. The dark cherry wood shrine that sits in the corner of the room. The lacquer is prominent on the wood due to the sun shining its rays through the glass windows. Inside the shrine sits a plate of persimmons and mandarin oranges along with a lotus incense holder and three picture frames. However, due to the sunlight that is directly shining on the shrine, Heizou can't make out who is in the photos.
The door to the patio swings open with a thud causing Heizou to turn his head toward the noise out of surprise. There stands Auntie with a tray in her hands containing two sets of teaware. She sets it on the coffee table and picks up one of the teapots and begins to pour the tea into each cup. The other teapot sits untouched as well as a singular teacup. When Auntie finally took a seat, she took a sip of the freshly brewed sunglo tea before setting it down gently and directing her gaze directly into Heizou's eyes.
“It would seem that you are in need of my services. What can I do for you?”
“I'm not really sure,” Heizou replied as he scratched the back of his head, “Kazuha said he knew a place and dragged me here, but my intuition tells me you already know what I need, so I'm going to trust you.”
“I do indeed know your reason for coming here, but I must warn you that this process will be painful, not physically, but emotionally. Are you sure you want to proceed?”
Heizou nodded, determination evident in his olive green eyes.
“Very well.”
She said as she snapped her fingers in front of Heizou's face. His eyelids were struggling to stay open and his vision was getting darker and darker and darker until he was thrown into complete darkness.
