About Forte's breakdown in the BatB french version

One thing I noticed with the french translation of Beauty and the Beast, the Enchanted Christmas. We know that Forte, in his breakdown, says to the Beast: "Is it happy enough for you, master ? I know I'm downright giddy!" The word giddy is used sarcastically to say he is naturally thrilled. But there's an other translation for the word giddy in french which is "étourdi", the english equivalent is being a scatterbrain. And this was the translation given to the french version of The Enchanted Christmas. Litteraly, he says: "Je suis parfois tellement étourdi!" "Sometimes, I'm a scatterbrain". For me it's a huge mistake. And for people who had other versions of BatB, have you noticed similar mistakes ? I skip Forte's breakdown and death so many times, because it's too painful to watch, but that's another story.

A little view of my shelf where many Forte pins are lined. Still in progress. Since I’ve discovered two years ago these kind of items existed, I felt the need to have many of them. I’ve been waiting since 1999 to have Forte item. Before DVD, there was VHS and I spent many years without having the BaTB midquel on DVD. After that, there was the magic of Internet at home and being able to print small screenshots of Forte’s appearances. And now I’m so happy that more than 20 years later, I have those pins. I haven’t bought more for two years now. This character means more to me than you can ever imagine. It took me time to talk about it online and now, I am ready. Always be proud of the love you feel for your character. Don’t care of what people will think about it. As long as your s/o makes you feel safe, you owe no one.

27 ans. Bien sûr la vie est ce qu’elle est et change constamment. J’ai 39 ans et ce personnage est rentré dans ma vie il y a 27 ans pour ne plus jamais en ressortir. Indubitablement, je l’aimerai jusqu’à ma mort. 🩵

⚜️1999 was the year I discovered Forte and feel in love with him. 🖤

Since then, I knew I’d die loving him.

I never talked about him to anyone for a whole decade. No internet for me and no notion of f/o or so. And I was convinced I was the only one loving a character. Now I know I’m not, and that this kind of love is far from being marginale. My love for Forte had literally saved my life a long time ago. Time flies and nothing changed. The first time I draw myself with him was around 2018/2019, maybe 2017… but I never dared before. I felt illegitimate. Now, doing it is much more than a relief.
