Meeting up with friends from home (who I havenât seen in months) to go ice skating! Iâll be on way later tonight for replies, promise <3 Ps. Think itâs time to pull out evil Archer.
Effy rose an eyebrow at his words, obviously he was not a fan of being called a master, duly noted. She tried to hide the amused look on her face, no doubt it would only annoy the man in front of her more. âWell then, problem solved.â She said simply, offering a smile, feeling it best to keep her mouth shut other than that. As he asked her the question she shrugged her shoulders, a small laugh slipping past her lips. âWell I donât work in the city, I live off of family money thatâs built up over the years.â She said with a small nod. âSo in this city I have fun and enjoy all Covaire has to offer.â
âThatâs convenient,â the vampire observed dryly. The girl was certainly far more fortunate than those who surrounded her. Archer was usually very friendly, the killer in him was cunning. Luckily for Miss Fontaine, he wasnât hungry, but this spurred a certain disinterest. âWell, some of us do have business to attend toâ"Â
Stopping and sighing, Archer turned around, âI apologise for my poor manners. It has been a shit week, to be frank.â
Light flickered over the cracking dry wall every time wind passed through the broken shards of a window and lifted the moth eaten block out curtains. The dark room was the only space the child had known his entire life. At four years old, with no name and scars clearly not caused by curious boyish adventures, two things were clear to himâfood was not to be eaten all at once, the rare crusts of bread or expired cans of spaghetti thrown his way meant the difference between crippling stomach cramps and lasting that little bit longer⌠and never upset mommy. When the child wasnât escaping reality, dreaming beneath a mouldy blanket on the concrete floor, he made himself as small as he could be. Day in and day out he remained in that ball. Huddled in the corner, all skin over tiny bones and messy hair, closing his eyes as tightly as he could to hold in tears and wish as hard as he could that she wouldnât come in. âBaby?â At the sound of her chiming voice, the little boy yelped and scrambled, his rich brown eyes had snapped open and now searched frantically for anything to keep her away. The fear in the room was almost tangible, the little boy soiled his already stained shorts and now let his tears flow freely.

§ My character will reveal a nightmare theyâve had about yours.Â
It had been a long day at the office, figuratively speaking, after little to no sleep the previous night. Archer was particularly looking forward to getting home and showering to wash away the blood of the drunk heâd broken to protect the dancer. After that heâd call his construction team coordinator in New York to organise a fly over and prepare for his evening with Gwenyth. Twenty minutes from home, the vampire didnât resist allowing his chin to dropâhis driver would announce their arrival when it was time to wake up.Â
Light flickered sporadically over cracking dry wall every time wind passed through the broken shards of a glass window and lifted the moth eaten block out curtains. The fear in the room was almost tangible, the little boy soiled his already stained shorts and now let his tears flow freely.Â
Watching the scene unfold, Archer felt ill. He was a bystander in his own reality, unable to help, worthless. The child wailed and the mother smiled.
âArgh!â Archer exclaimed, grasping the back of the leather seat in front of him. The dreams memories had become so fucking vivid, but that wasnât what woke him. When the woman had walked in, her familiarity started him into consciousness. Fingering the studded belt delicately⌠had been Gwenyth. âJesusâŚâ The vampire whispered, sitting back heavily.Â
ÂĽ Drabble of an AU reenactment of our charactersâ first meeting in a no-supernatural setting.
[Realistically, as Archer was born in 1918] âTaxi!â Mr. Onell whistled, lifting his arm to gain the attention of one of the many yellow cabs whooshing past. Within seconds a car pulled up beside the impeccably dressed gentleman. âThere you go dear.â The elderly man said, smiling and shuffling back to lean on his stick. He may have been close to one hundred, but he didnât look it. With more energy than he had in his twenties, the business mogul would never hesitate to assist a lady. âThank you for stopping to talk to me, very few take notice of us old folk these days. As I was saying, you must be able to forgive, even if itâs difficult to do.⌠my great grandson told me that. I figure heâs smarter than me⌠now câmon, best not keep the taxi here waiting.â
Âľ Three things my character likes/dislike about yours (Pick one).
> Her dark honey coloured eyes.> Her English accent.> The way she bites her lip.
⏠My character will describe yours in one sentence.Â
An intriguing, beautiful thing.Â
⢠Drabble of your character falling asleep on mine.
The vampireâs brow furrowed when Gwenyth failed to return his question. Turning to face her, he saw that she had succumbed to sleepâit was no wonder, the girl must have been exhausted. A small smile appeared on his lips, she appeared so peaceful⌠without warning her whole body shifted to curl next to him and her head nestled into his shoulder. Archer stiffened, he was not used to this kind of contact. Clearly the limited space in the back seat of his Audi was no obstacle. âChange of route, weâre not going to the Chateau. Take us back to my house.â Archer alerted his driver, relaxing a little. There was no way he was going to wake Gwenyth, only to dump her into another nightmare.
âNo doubt most in this city probably could.â He said in wry amusement, nodding as he mentioned bringing in his own men. The work would probably be done quicker that way, it wasnât a bad idea at all. âNice to meet you too.â He said with a nod of his head in acknowledgement, not saying a word as the man wrote out a text message. Running his own business he know how busy a person could be, having to constantly be on his own phone as well. As he asked what business he was in he shrugged. âIâm in the drug business. My father started it in France when I was still a young boy and when he was gone I kept it going. I now own one of the largest drug companies in the world.â
The dark haired vampire laughed and raised his brows, âPharmaceutical or illicit?â Archer didnât care, he did respect the manâs dedication to family though.
âThoughts can be easy to get lost in, especially if you have so many.â Aisha smiled. She tried to slowly shift away from where she was standing, so he wouldnât have to shield his vision from the sun. âIt would probably help if they were actually around.â The dancer shrugged.
âVery true,â Archer nodded in agreement, returning his hand to his jacket pocket as the woman shifted around. âThank you, oh and I knowâŚâ The vampire wasnât feeling particularly chatty at that moment, but he remained polite. This project was chewing up the little reserve he kept aside for exchanging pleasantries. âArcher Onell maâam. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.â He offered formally, extending his other hand. Â
Appetite || Gwen & Archer
Gwen looked up at him, he must have noticed her being uncomfortable. âOh, noâŚ.â She said sweetly, shaking her head, a small smile on her lips. âItâs not that, and itâs not you.â She reached up and placed her hand gently on his shoulder. âI just prefer my maiden name.â She looked at the building in front of her in awe. âCandideâŚas in Voltaire? Thatâs the only thing Iâve read from him, but I loved it!â She grinned widely, not even hearing the maĂŽtre dâ use her last name. âOh, itâs beautiful here!â She looked around as they walked. âI never did get to ask you what you doâŚYouâre too well dressed to have just been a contractor at that siteâŚsoâŚinvestor? Architect? Is this one of yours, too?âÂ
She nodded. âJust once, to Paris, during break from Uni with some friends.â She folded her hands in her lap. âI donât speak it though, I was never good at picking up languages.â
âTo answer your earlier questionâyes, Candide as in Voltaire. When I was human I strongly agreed with his critiques of government and experienced a similar religious intolerance. Iâm still very interested in philosophy.â Archer watched Gwenyth curiously as he spokeâthe way she battered her lashes, the crimson flush upon her pale skin⌠he found her enticing, her every movement fascinating. âThank you,â the vampire added as Gwenythâs eyes roamed around the restaurant. âItâs alright, though certainly not at the top of my most cherished projectsâŚâÂ
âIâm many things Gwenyth.â The vampire replied, his eyes darkening suddenly. It wasnât a difficult question, it was one he answered more times in a day than he cared for, but once again the truth of what he really was played at the forefront of his mind. Running his index finger along his bottom lip, Archer sighed. His unique pleasures were just that, they were not a secret to be hidden beneath a facade. The man was used to doing what he wanted when he wanted. Before Covaire there was only one side of him, now it seemed heâd been split in two. Narrowing his dark eyes, Archer collected himselfâthe internal conflict lasting mere seconds to the woman across the table. âIâm an architect by trade.â He finally admitted, twirling the same bread stick in his long fingers, but not taking his eyes off her. âIâve built structures for as long as I can recall⌠but, Iâm a curious man. I have companies dedicated to construction, urban renewal, even one in perfume and another that sources rare antiquities.â Shrugging, a boyish smile replaced his usually stoic features.Â
âParis a city that inspires devotion; to the arts, to sĂŠduction, to sex.â Archer continued innocently. âMesmerising really. Tell me about universityâwhat was it you studied?â
Cassie slipped her keys back into her pocket, âYes well Iâm sure you wouldnât have to worry about telling your master you need a new set of keys. Probably the third in the last six months,â she said with a slight laugh. Cassie glanced down the crossway then back to the vampire, âI was actually heading to the cafe really quick then walking back towards the eastside.â
âNo, youâre right. Iâm sure my assistant wouldnât be too pleased though. He already has enough of my errands to see to.â Archer replied, walking across the road with one hand in his jacket pocket. âThereâs a cafĂŠ near here?â The vampire asked, tilting hid head inquisitively towards the blonde.Â
Aisha was walking down the sidewalk and heard someone talking. At first she thought he was talking to her, then realized he was probably just muttering to himself. âOh sorry, I thought you were talking to me.â She smiled a little embarrassed.Â
âNo it is I who should apologiseâI rarely, but sometimes get lost in my thoughts.â Archer laughed, turning to face the woman and shading his eyes from the sunâs glare with his hand. âSometimes I voice those thoughts. Load of good they do thoughâthe workers here suck.â

Really from-beneath-it-devoursâ ? I could only find info saying it was dependent on individual circumstances :-) Thank you for letting me know!
OOC
I donât know whether or not to apply for Telsa⌠I was just thinking how Iâd love a different type of character then found her bio and sort of fell in love. Iâve written a sample, but still donât know?! Is it too soon? Am I being impulsive?
Appetite || Gwen & Archer
She didnât mind the bouts of silence in their drive, she was just enjoying the scenery and the thrill of being on a date for the first time in probably 4 years. âI canât wait.â She said, earnestly. âIâm pretty hungry.â Gwen had a healthy appetite, though she hadnât had a meal like she was assuming sheâd have tonight.Â
She caught him looking over at her a few times, and things like that never failed to make her blush. Catching his eye, she bit her lip and looked back away. She smiled and nodded. âJust outside of Wales, actually. My mother gave me speech classes to keep my accent proper and unsullied, as sheâd say.â  As they came to the light, she could almost smell the ocean air, and turned to face him. âSure. I prefer my full name, but I know itâs a bit long to say, so I donât mind Gwen, itâs easier.â She knew it was a bad idea to get comfortable around him, especially with her past, but at the same time, the luxury had her feeling at home.Â
She let them sit at the light quietly, Archer seemed to be lost in thought, so Gwen didnât want to disturb it. As he exclaimed, she wondered if he maybe realized something he had forgotten at home or something business related that needed to be done, but she gave him his privacy. As he opened her door, she thanked him, but visibly flinched as he said her last name. He must have found out when he called for the rental. Gwen took his arm again and they walked inside. Taking a deep breath and looking around, for a moment, she forgot where she was. This was what her life should have been, on the arm of a successful, wealthy, and handsome man, going on a dinner date to an incredible restaurant, and heading home for a night of passionate sex. Everything her mother groomed her for, but was stolen away.
Noticing Gwenyth flinch, Archerâs brow furrowed. He didnât presume to know her, yet, but he knew women. Doubting she went on expeditions such as this one often, was it the unintentional reference to the Chateau? Unsure but willing to take the risk, Archer offered, âGwenythââ Heâd noted her preference in name, âIt was my assistant who ironed out the technicalities regarding this eveningââ A subtle way of saying heâd had him pay a lot of money to satisfy a pissed off master, âI found out your surname specifically from the hotel attendantâŚâ Clearly that attempt to impress her wasnât thought out very clearly. As she took his arm, he looked down at her sincerely and hoped she wasnât upset.
âWelcome to Candide.â He announced, changing the topic and nodding his head in the direction of the small restaurant on the waterâs edge. The establishment had been his first project in Covaire after the Arena, but heâd sold it not long after itâs completionâhospitality wasnât really the vampireâs thing. Still itâs features were not unlike his home, hotel and upcoming architecture officeâdark woods and glass adorned the entry, but it was cosier. As an architect, he respected space and the ambience it was responsible for creating.Â
âBienvenue Mr Onell, Miss Carrington.â The maĂŽtre d' said cheerily as they walked in. It was Archer who resisted flinching this time. God dammit, he thought. âBonjour Keir, itâs a pleasure to see you again.â He replied instead, smiling politely. The French man dressed in a stylish suit began leading them to the table nearest the window. Although they could have had their pick, Archer had ensured theyâd have the restaurant to themselves, it was by far the best spot. The ocean glistened under the nearly full moon, and a modern track played quietly above them.Â
Pulling her chair out, Archer smiled once more, inviting her to sit. âS'il vous plaĂŽt Apportez vins Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru de la CĂ´te de Nuits et de nos entrĂŠes.â He asked Keir, knowing the man prefered to speak in his first language, before moving to take his own seat. In a flurry, their waiter was off fetching their starters and wine. âHave you been to France Gwenyth?â Archer asked curiously, before biting the end off of a small bread stick and cocking his head slightly.
I was nearly finished my para replies while updating my iPhone (three hours later), but it went and freaked out, didnât work, and resulted in my phone being in recovery mode. Such a f*ck around⌠so now I have multiple drafts and no phone -_- Iâll be on soon though!
âAround here you either have to threaten them or offer more money, if youâre willing to part with more that is. Otherwise the work can take forever, my own office took longer than I certainly would have liked.â He said with a shake of his head, of course that had been until he had provided extra incentive for them to haul ass.
Alexander extended his hand and shook the manâs firmly before dropping it. âAlexander Moreau. Pleasure.â
âFuck it. I could do a better job myself,â Archer said, shaking his head. âIâm flying in my own crew once I have clearance to do so. These men are inept and I donât want them ruining my design.â An architecture building had to be constructed expertly, the design flawless. Reaching into his suit jacket, Archer pulled out an iPhone to check for messages. One from his hotel and another from his assistant. âItâs nice to meet you Alexander.â The vampire said as he wrote a fast text to confirm he knew Gwen and to show her to his suite. Glancing up, Archer laughed and apologised. âYou seem to understand how business works,â pocketing the phone he continued, âWhat area are you in?âÂ
âI heard worseâ you kinda get used to it.â and it was the truth, especially coming from him. The guy had to be new though for sure. It kinda amused him at times when masters and mistresses were offended at first by the city, that usually went out the window pretty quickly too. All they needed was one people to fuck them over. âAntiquitiesâ do you specialize in a specific era?â Kennedy would find that detail interesting probably. The wolf shook the extended handâ firmly, but not in a dominant way and just long enough to be respectful, while smiling at the vamp. Everything was perfect about the handshake, even his heartbeat was even, but fuck the vamp would never know how much it took out of him to shake that hand normally. âBaelfire Doyle, sir. Nice meeting you. Mind if I ask you what you prefer being called?â
âPottery, predominatelyâenamel and porcelain vases etcetera. I enjoy collecting things, itâs just a hobby. Thereâs actually a shop on the ground floor of my building if youâre ever on the East side.â The vampire wasnât lying, he really did enjoy researching and tracking down rare pieces. It was one of two preferred pastimes⌠though the other sated a much darker appetite. âImpressive handshake Baelfire, I mean it. Oh, and Archer is just fine. I like to think Iâm not like other masters. I donât give a shit what Iâm called, I only care of context. âÂ
âWell might I suggest you show them how low on patience you are? They might speed up a little bit when theyâre faced with an extremely pissed off master.â She said with a laugh before taking his hand and shaking it, a smile on her lips. âEffy Fontaine, itâs a pleasure.â
âIâm no oneâs master.â Archer said, raising a brow and looking at the blonde. âOh, I forgot. Thatâs the automatic term for someone not in a cage here right? Look, not that itâs any of your businessâbut I prefer to keep work and pleasure separate, and at the moment I would take great joy in breaking a bone or two as compensation. No, Iâll fire this pathetic crew and fly my own men in.â Whether Darius liked it or not. âSo, Effy was it? What do you do here in Covaire?â
There was something about the girl that intrigued him, and for her that was a very dangerous thing. The man wasnât known singularly for his impeccable intuition concerning businessâthere was no one on this earth still breathing that could speak of an inherent kindness, and masters and slaves alike who were smart enough to sense his hunger for pain and death steered well away from him. The beautiful irony of this was the vampireâs ability to draw them in with little more than a smile. He intoxicated them with charm before they even had the chance to follow their instincts and run.Â
