Colt 'Tect Sewing uh not pattern, but semi instructions!
(I have to make this in multiple parts because there's a lot and I took photos for everything)
So pretty much, this is an "instruction set" mainly for making baby Architects- I'm redoing little AL-AN in this style for reference, but the design itself is easily manipulated for whatever including non-Architect critters.
I recommend using anti-pil fleece (stays soft and doesn't get worn down as much) and a lot of tough embroidery thread since you have to fight the fabric during the torso connections.
I kinda like to do this in sections rather than all at once, so the flank will be our first segment. There's three pieces, the back and sides. Since this is gonna be AL-AN, the back has a little arrow tail tip and the scales are just a bunch of triangles laid over each other and sewn on.
Sew these parts together in a "triangle shape" lining up the back part with the smooth flatter part of the flank. Then the part with the two lumps should seal the bottom half, but leave the flat front section open to be stuffed (I don't know if I explained that right, but the pics should help- the bottom is the sewn side and the top two are the inside out version)
Stuffing it with give it the proper shape, but you'll need to sew it shut and flat for it to connect to the torso later.
The torso is pretty simple and straightforward the only problem is machine sewing the design on
Stick the patterned sides together, sew around leaving the neck open, turn inside out, and stuff
I recommend doing the head next and attaching it to the torso- the shape is a little wonky, but you only have to detail the one side
Sew together starting at the top- the fancy metal crest will cover this segment later. Turn inside out, but before stuffing, sew a "voided" section on the sides of the horns, this will give some depth to them.
The crest can be hand sewn on afterwards to close the hole
Attaching the head to the torso is pretty simple, but it will be floppy regardless of what you do- it's supposed to be kind of a ragdoll
The hardest part of this whole this is attaching the torso to the flank, it requires some really tough string and a LOT of force, but don't get discouraged- it's hard, but worth it.
So that ends off part one, the next segment is much easier and it's just adding the arms and legs, but I've been working on this for four hours so fair warning this is a multiple day project, but it's super worth it and you can do anything with this- mainly baby AL-AN <3
