wilbur really didnât want to have spaghetti for the third night in a row, those meatball cannons really got intense and somehow he felt venturing out into the city was better. unfortunately, his family had dinner just like the rest of the sanctuary and unfortunately that meant he had to experience the rush. his large and unusual family rarely went out, mainly to avoid the judgement but none of them really cared. wilburâs style really relaxed while arriving, mainly his hair but there was still some semblance of what it used to be. he was planning on leaving and just getting a small croissant at a coffee shop, but he knew heâd be starving for the rest of his study night. luckily a girl speaks up before he is about to turn to leave. âmy familyâs not the more orthodox so weâd actually encourage weird ways to eat,â he muttered rather quickly before taking a seat in front of the girl. âdo you ever sit for so long and end up tired? then you stand up for literally an hour and youâre even more tired than before?â
âlucky you.â cleo says. one of her eyebrows arch as she tries to imagine what his version of unorthodox looks like. she imagines its very different depending on where the person is from. âto most people, i am the definition of unorthodox.. so i can appreciate that.â cleo shares. and its true- to most people being a mermaid is far from normal. âwhen i first learned how to walk, yeah.â she explains as she takes a bite of a french fry. âevery single time i was on my feet for more than a couple of minutes, i needed a break. but then a couple of months ago i finally got the hang of it- and now i can run and-â she cuts herself off. âthatâs... thatâs not what you were talking about, is it ?â her social skills could still use major improvement. âi think its safe to say being tired is just a personality trait for me by now.âÂ

well now, why hadnât she thought of that ? the queenâs eyes widen in both shock and amazement as the princess of agrabah so willingly decides to climb the book case, a startled laugh sounding. âarenât you a brave one,â she muses, though the mothering side of her is concerned for the girlâs safety. âdo be careful, though. if the shelf feels like itâs going to tip, just jump off.â
âyeah.â sahar scoffs. âiâm a regular dragon slayer.â she chuckles lightly and makes it a point not to roll her eyes as she hears belleâs maternal tone rear its head. sheâs just grateful that isnât a pretentious iâm a queen kind of voice. âi think jumping off would just make it crush me faster.â it takes a little creative maneuvering but eventually sahar is able to grab the book belle is after. âdo you need anything else while iâm already up here ?âÂ

anna moved out from behind the desk to get a better view of the piece that was being discussed. she tilted her head as she tried to remember the blurb about that specific piece that she had spent so long to memorize. âwell, red has a lot of meanings. notably passion, but that can include love or violence. and the splatter effect has it own emotion in itself too. like anger or just chaos,â she attempted an exploitation. she stepped closer while she continued to talk. âthe better question is, what do you think it means? what does it make you feel? cause thatâs what it means.â
âi think it looks like someone saw an insect while they were holding a paintbrush in their hands.â cleo shares as she chuckles. âyeah, i donât get art. at least not the kind where youâre supposed to determine what it means. donât get me wrong- i get it why thatâs how it is- but... i donât know. everyone tells me that art is supposed to help me understand humans, but if its so subjective, how is that even possible ?âÂ

her eyes widen at the possible alternate endings, jaw dropping. âthatâsââ katia has to bite down on her lower lip to keep from laughing too loudly, head falling as she imagines the different outcomes that the younger princess offered up. ââthatâs so morbid !â but entertaining, nonetheless.
it was hard not to bust a gut when katia tried her hardest not to react to the dark humor. âaw, come on ! morbid is just a codeword for âthis is funny but we have to pretend itâs notâ !â cleo accused with a laugh. she shook her head- she stood by her creative choice. âit would be cinematic poetry, i think. and it probably wouldâve won awards.âÂ

âi doubt triton would curse you to die.â if he did, then bayou realized she had many more problems with her grandfather than she thought. âbut yeah, sure, iâll promise to look sad. real sad, even.â she smirked. she would truthfully be sad, since she didnât want to see her cousin die. maybe stub her toe more than the average human, but not die. her face contorted with discomfort at her cousinâs suggestion. legs were a major adjustment. she had already learned to avoid stairs, as she always found herself missing a step and almost falling down an entire flight each time. âthis just sounds like a lame plan to get me to run away.âÂ
âin the enchanted forest, the ocean burned me whenever i touched it. and not just a little sting- i jumped into it once anyway and it felt like i was on fire.â cleo explains. her voice turns into a haunted muffle as she recalls the feeling. its the only thing thatâs stopped her from trying it again. no, king triton didnât curse her to die ; he wouldnât be cruel enough to do that to someone in his family. but he made it so it was excruciating for her to be in the water. but the thought of bayou trying to run quickly brings the amusement back before she gets too deep in the memory. âyouâre underestimating how ridiculous you look when you do it. if you ever get to watch a baby deer try to take its first steps, just know thatâs what you looked like, too.â
oftrcgedysâ:
âperhaps,â katia murmurs, watching as the credits roll down the screen. she sits up a bit straighter, folding her hands over her lap as she ponders the ending of the film. âi just wish that theyâd found a better way to kill him off. the route they took just doesnât make any sense.â
âi personally think it wouldâve been funny if the ice berg just hit him directly.â cleo thinks aloud with a shrug. âoh ! or, or, or- if he was the one who one who fell and hit the propeller. that wouldâve been a much more exciting ending.â

âi donât doubt that for a second,â adrian easily replies, rolling his eyes at the underlying smugness woven into her words. âthat he did. my dearest teddy is quite the dare devil, if i may say so myself.â perhaps even more so than adrian â teddy was simply more quiet about it than he. âplease, the only person who would have given you any mouth for climbing out of the window is grimsbyâŠold beanpole.â he found amusement in his fatherâs nickname for the elder, which is precisely why he still used it. âtrip me ? you would do that ? cleopatra, iâm wounded. i cannot believe you would stand there and willingly say you would trip me, especially after bravely putting myself before you in these dangerous woods so that you can jump off of a cliff. my heart isâŠabsolutely broken.â he places his hand over his heart, shaking his head in mock sorrow. itâs when heâs looking away from her that she jumps, earning a loud gasp from the unprepared prince. âwarn a guy next time !â he exclaims, adjusting himself so that he had a better hold on her.
âhumans call each other by such peculiar things.â cleo scoffs. she doesnât and probably wouldnât put together what old beanpole could mean. âwhy is it that you guys have him for again ? is he just there to complain and roll his eyes, or ?â she asks. a lackluster scowl appeared at adrianâs mention of her full name. she only ever hears it when sheâs talking to someone who is old enough to be a dinosaur or if sheâs being scolded. âtry that again and i really will trip you !â cleo promises. âyour broken heart will complement your broken jaw.â she talks in a purposefully sweet tone to offset her threat. cleo laughs as adrian is caught off guard and she uses her arms to cling on tightly so she wonât be dropped in the process. âyouâre supposed to be paying attention !âÂ
it may have been bayouâs day off, but she still found herself in the department store she worked for. she was attempting to shop for herself, admiring a set of booties she knew her new feet could not walk in quite yet. she still needed to work on her balance to pull off any heel taller than half an inchâŠÂ
as she sadly returned the shoes to their place, someone caught her attention. they appeared to be struggling to find something. although it wasnât even her job, she still knew the entire store like the back of her hand, and she felt it only right to help. she cautiously approached. âwhat exactly are you looking for?â
âso itâs that obvious i have no idea what iâm doing ?â elsa asks. she chuckles as she puts the pair of shoes back on the shelf- sheâs very graceful but even those monster heels were way too high for her. âiâm just browsing, not looking for anything in particular but curious to see what the village has. what brought you in ?âÂ
the gallery had only been open for a few weeks now. it was fortunate enough to garner some guests from foot traffic, but most of the time it remained quiet. anna was still trying to figure out the technology, but she managed to occupy her time with her newly curated instagram feed. ( it kept her mind away from home and wondering what her kids was up to, at the very least. ) she was so caught up in mindlessly scrolling on the computer she nearly didnât hear the bell go off as someone entered. people were the best distraction, after all.
âoh,â she quickly sat up and returned to her cheerful demeanor. âwelcome!!! please look around! just let me know if you have questions! i promise i can answer most of them.â
cleo is fascinated by art. however sheâs very new to it- anything sheâs ever seen under the ocean has been far, far different than anything sheâs seen on land. ever since she got herself her own pair of legs, sheâs been drawn to the things humans create. but she canât seem to understand it as easily as others seem to. âwould i sound like an idiot if i asked you what this is supposed to mean ?â cleo asks, motioning to a painting thatâs a little too abstract for her taste. âyou know, besides someone throwing red at a canvas.âÂ
âoh, dear..â belle sighs, mainly to herself. of course, the one book that she would be looking for is on the shelf that she just canât seem to reach, no matter how hard she tries. and to make matters worse, there appears to be no ladder in sight ! the queen turns to the person closest to her, offering a gracious smile. âexcuse me, would you be so kind as to help me reach that book up there ?â she stands on her tip toes to point to the title, huffing in frustration. âi would greatly appreciate it.â
âunless youâd like to use me as a stepping stool...â sahar jokingly suggestions as she shrugs. âiâm not entirely sure what i can do to help.â her hands rest on her hips as she looks up at the book. ânot interested in anything on a lower shelf ?â she asks. after a couple moments more of observing the shelf, she decides to try climbing it herself. not very princess like but thatâs nothing new for her.
oftrcgedysâ:
âgo right ahead. iâd love to see teddy dive off a cliff. much more entertaining than the times he used to jump out the window of the castle.â and somehow, adrian had always ended up following him right out the same window. wherever teddy went, adrian was sure to be there beside him, today being a rare exception. a loud laugh erupts from the second eldest montague, and he glances over toward his cousin with a look of pure glee. âa jungle pirate â oh, thatâs a good one. sheâs sure to love that.â he tucked the new teasing title into the back of his mind for future use, already giddy at what his youngest sisterâs reaction would be to hearing it. âyou donât â but thatâs what adds to the adventurous effect youâre so desperately in need of.â he was only joking with herâŠa little bit. âdo keep up. weâve got a cliff to jump from. stragglers will be left behind.â another joke. adrian would never leave her behind.
âi could get him to do it.â cleo promises confidently, to the point of being a little smug. she has a habit of getting most of the things she wants- except for her stupid curse to be lifted. not because no one puts up resistance but because she very rarely gives up. âhe used to jump... out of the castle ?â cleo asks. âand yet every time i climbed out of it- which is sooo much safer- i got reprimanded.â she scoffs. despite expecting to be lead very far away from the cliff, she continues to follow after her older cousin. âdonât make me trip you.â cleo threatens playfully. her fingertips tap against her waist as her hands rest there. she pauses, momentarily. but quickly rushes forward to launch herself onto adrianâs back. âthere ! straggler problem solved.â cleo announces as she forces herself into a piggy back ride situation.Â

itâs busy tonight. far busier than it is usually around this time. but luckily for cleo, she snatched a table to herself before the dinner rush piled in. and while she was content sitting by herself, watching a boy she didnât know wander around and realize thereâs no seat available for him, she begins to feel guilty. after watching him circle the seating area more than once the princess decides to intervene. âits bad manners to eat standing up- or at least thatâs what my mom tells me.â she jokes, eyes leading to the empty chair. âif you get tired of being a rebel, feel free to sit.â @dadivosos
ââŠiâm having a very difficult time understanding something,â the princess begins, pursing her lips. âso i just finished this movie that iâd heard was supposed to be absolutely amazing â and it was, donât get me wrong â iâm just..confused as to why jack couldnât have justâŠclimbed onto the door with rose. there was absolutely enough room.â
âit wouldnât be a great story if they got the happy ending.â cleo thinks aloud. she shrugs. âa good one, sure. a romantic one, definitely. but not a great one. humans have an insatiable desire to be as dramatic as possible.â so did mermaids but she isnât going to own up to that one every time. âi think i like it better that one of them didnât make it.â
