Chris told his wife that her ensuring that her feet would be happier later by not dancing until necessary was a good idea. She grinned before he placed his lips on her cheek, making her giggle and beam as he told her that he couldn’t wait to dance with her as husband and wife. She nodded her head in agreement. “It’s going to be wonderful,” she gushed. Grant it, she also knew that Chris didn’t really dance. That would mean that they would be swaying mostly, probably just staring at each other and talking a little as they danced. She was sure Chris would compliment her for the hundredth time and she would do her best to not look away from him, but she would probably blush.
It seemed that Chris understood what Cherry was saying. She smiled at him before he reached for his beer, one that Mike had brought him. The bride looked at her glass of champagne, one that her mother had set down in front of her. She had sipped at it throughout dinner but hadn’t had too much of it. To be fair, she didn’t want to do a whole lot of drinking, especially since her Hen party where she had the worst next day ever. Chris had at least been a blessing because Cherry was more than sure she was going to die. She had never felt worse in her life and she honestly wouldn’t have found a better man than Chris, who stayed by her and comforted her as she vomited up her insides and dealt with the most horrific headache ever.
Since then, she had sworn off of booze, off of a lot of booze. She would sip at wine and champagne, but that was it and if Ana even tried to get her drink, she would tell her friend absolutely not and that she wanted to be able to enjoy the morning after her wedding, and remember it. Although, after that night, Cherry wouldn’t be surprised if Ana had sworn off of alcohol already after the Hen Party. Of course, now Cherry feared her best friend’s Hen Party.

It seemed so strange that the idea of Cherry was as appealing to him as it was at that moment in time. They had danced together before, many times in fact, but this was different. This was going to be their first dance as man and wife, the start of their life together, sharing a name. It was exciting, probably more than it should be, but it made him grin. As Cherry pronounced that it was going to be wonderful he couldn't help but agree with her. It was going to be amazing to dance with her, and he couldn't wait to have his arms around her simply swaying to the music that they had chosen together to be their very first dance.
Chris was enjoying the beer that he had, as he felt it had been earned after the many worries he'd gone through throughout the day. Chris being the way that he was meant he'd been panicking about every little thing and that it might go wrong. Of course, Mike had been there to reassure him and show that everything was going to be fine, and that, if there were any problems, he would help deal with them. Thankfully everything had gone according to plan with no issues to report, and so Chris could enjoy the drink. He wasn't planning to have too much, but a drink or two would be nice.
He looked out at the dance floor, just in time to see his dad walking up. "It's nearly time for your first dance," he told them both, giving his son a pat on the back. "Thanks dad," he told him, turning to Cherry and offering her his hand. "Are you ready?" Now he suddenly felt nervous, because their first dance meant that everyone would be watching. Everybody would be staring and following their progress across the dance floor, and he wished that he was more skilled at dancing so that he could do more elaborate stuff with the woman that he loved.

Cherry smiled over at her husband (her husband) as he answered her question about him and Mike’s dance. Apparently it would be before their own and that they would have those dances and then have their own. She smiled, pleased with the thought. She liked the idea of Mike and Chris having a dance of their own before Cherry would swoop in and steal her husband for their dance. She would, of course, give the boys time because Merlin knew they would need to have a breather to collect themselves. It would be emotional for the two of them, just as Chris moving out of their shared apartment had been emotional for them. Cherry would always let the boys have their emotional moments, especially since it was so refreshing to see that the men in her life were so healthy with their feelings and emotions. She wasn’t about to change that.
Chris asked Cherry if she was okay to dance before saying that if she wasn’t that it was okay because he wanted her to be okay. She giggled and turned to look over at him. She leaned forward, pressing her lips against his once more. This kiss lasted longer than the one previous, Cherry pouring her love into the kiss before she pulled away, looking at him with a bright smile. “My feet are fine, Chris. Believe me, I’ve had it in my head to not dance until our dance just to make sure my feet don’t hurt,” she told him, unable to help but smile at him. It was true. She had wanted to make sure they could have their first dance properly and if that meant not dancing until their dance then dammit she would do it.
“Besides, I don’t think dancing right after eating is such a good idea anyway,” she joked as she playfully patted her stomach. She also knew that Chris wasn’t a big dancer. He would dance with her, and Mike, and his mother, and maybe Ana, but that was about it. Cherry doubted he would do much dancing otherwise. “Plus, I want to make sure my feet don’t hurt for when I dance with your father and Mike,” she said with a bright grin. Because she loved being around Mark and talking to him, and obviously Mike too. But Mark was her father-in-law now and that meant she loved being around him even more.

There was going to be quite a lot of dancing that evening. Chris had already promised a dance to Mike, as well as his mother and Mike's mother. There were also others who had hinted that they wanted a dance with him, Ana included, and he suspected that Cherry would also do a lot of dancing. It was why he was so looking forward to enjoying a lie in the next day. His feet would surely be aching soon from all of the dancing and celebrating that they had been doing, and while Chris had been careful about picking comfortable shoes, he would still be on his feet all day and therefore suffering a little as a result of it.
He found himself temporarily distracted by the feeling of Cherry's lips upon his. He smiled into the kiss, even as she pulled away from him, and was glad to see that she too was smiling. Cherry was being sensible with her feet, telling him that she was sitting until their dance to ensure that she didn't cause herself aching feet. "That's a good idea," he told her, leaning in and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "I can't wait to dance with you as husband and wife."
She mentioned about dancing right after eating and he laughed, nodding his head. "I know what you mean." His own stomach felt full, though not uncomfortably so. He'd managed to restrain himself so that he wouldn't make himself sick later. He reached for his beer, one that had been brought for him, and he knew that it wouldn't be the last. He didn't want to get drunk to the point of being sick or even forgetting things that had happened that day, but there were plenty of people eager to see him a little tipsy. He just hoped that having a glass of beer always in hand might be enough to deter them.

reagankittrickrp:
As expected, most of the kisses shared between the couple tonight were short lived. This wasn’t due to the company, but due to the fact that neither of them could stop smiling at one another. They were both just so thrilled that they were able to finally make this happen, finally tie the knot, and to start a family of their own. Grant it, children were not going to be on the menu for quite a while but at least they’d be able to start their lives together as husband and wife. Which reminded Cherry, she needed to start brainstorming locations for their honeymoon, which she was sure that they wouldn’t be able take until the summer when Chris’ studies were non-existent, unless, of course, he chose to do a residency, then they would have to wait quite some time for a honeymoon, not that she minded. The more money they saved, the more options they had to travel to.
Chris’ arm wrapped around his wife before asking if she was tired. She shook her head a little at his question. “No, I just like being close to you,” she told him before added that they didn’t have to get up early tomorrow, not like today, so they could have a lie in if they needed it. Cherry nodded her head. “Even though I’m not tired right now I think we’re going to end up needing that lie in,” she joked, grinning before she turned her head to look up at him. It was nice that they didn’t have any responsibilities, at least not yet anyway. She was sure as the party started to wind down, they would need to get up and thank their guests for coming before they would head out themselves. Ana and Mike had been adamant that they wouldn’t need to be there for cleanup. The other couple would handle it.
“So, are you and Mike going to have your dance before or after ours?” She asked as she grinned up at him, nearly giggling as she waited for his response. Those boys were pretty much married to each other anyway. Cherry was honestly surprised that they hadn’t had an actual reception to celebrate their Bro Marriage, not that she’d have minded. If it made Chris happy, then it made her happy, especially if it had anything to do with Mike. The two were best friends, brothers even, so she never got in between the boys and their hang outs or their happiness. She tended to let them alone when they were at the house, or when they went out to dinner.

Chris was at least thankful that Cherry wasn't tired at that moment in time and in need of a break. He was sure that, if they needed a nap, either of them, his parents would be happy to let them borrow his old room for a little while. But he'd rather not do that. He didn't want to leave the festivities for any reason, even if it was to go to sleep so that he might be able to continue on with them for longer later on. But they weren't in need of a nap and so Chris smiled, leaning into Cherry more. He liked being with her a lot and now it was official that she was the one he loved spending the most time with. He doubted he'd ever be able to wipe the smile from his face.
He let out a small chuckle as Cherry said that they were definitely going to need the lie in the next day. "I think we've earned it," he told her, looking back down at her. Tomorrow would be the first day of their life as man and wife and Chris was really looking forward to it. It would also be the first day in a long time when they hadn't been frantic with getting this wedding organised. He was eager to finally get a rest from it. It had been fun and a challenge, but now he was ready to simply enjoy it.
Cherry asked if he and Mike would have their dance before or after and Chris had an answer. "Before," he said, nodding towards the dance floor, where there were already some people dancing. "Have those dances and then it'll be our turn." He glanced down at Cherry's feet, wondering if being on them all day might have changed how she felt about dancing. "Are you okay to dance?" he asked, looking back at her face. "If you aren't then that's okay, I just want you to be okay," he offered, worried that she might not feel up to it and would simply go through it for him rather than because she wanted to.

Cherry honestly didn’t think that today could get any better. She had all of her closest friends and family with her, including a few people that she didn’t think would come. She was thrilled to see everyone, and despite how not everyone would stay all that late, or that some of them would only stay for the ceremony, like her big sister and parents, she was still happy that they were able to attend. Still, she was happy to see that her brother was there, mingling with a few people, although she doubted that he would stay for too long. She was able to spot Jim and his girlfriend Elizabeth, who were having a grand time. Ambrosii had come for the ceremony, being the one who had made Cherry’s bouquet before he had run off, no doubt to head back to the shop, not that she minded. Even Roman had come to see her get married, and that was something special!
Chris looked at Cherry, making her smile a little wider as he squeezed her hand and told her that he loved her too before calling her by her new name. She giggled as well before he pressed his lips to her cheek, making her brighten even more before he spoke. “I can’t either. It feels like it took so long to get here and now it’s gone by so fast,” she told him as she looked away from him briefly to look around before she looked back at him, smiling. “And everything has been just perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better day to get married to you,” she told him as she leaned forward, pressing her lips to his briefly in a kiss before she pulled away.
“I can’t believe I get to call you my husband,” she told him before she let out a laugh and shook her head, her long hair, which had been pinned up, now freely bouncing around her shoulders. It showed that she was no longer stressed and she was going to metaphorically and literally let her hair down and have fun. Not too much fun like her hen party, but still fun, which she saw Mike drag Ana off to dance already, making Cherry giggle. “And everyone’s having a fantastic time it seems.” She let out a happy sigh as she moved to rest her head on his shoulder. “And we don’t have to stay for long, by the way. If you get tired, let me know,” she told him, gently squeezing his hand so that he knew she was serious. If things got to be a little too much for him, they could head home.

It had been great to get everyone together like this, especially at the last minute. There had, of course, been some people with plans that they couldn't cancel, but it still meant a lot to see cards and gifts arrive from them. There were so many friendly faces around, eager to look at Chris' grinning face, because he definitely was not able to stop himself from smiling. His parents looked as though they were over the moon, which he suspected that they definitely were, given how much they adored Cherry. She was now a part of the family, officially, and they could now call her their daughter-in-law. It made them both ecstatic, which only made Chris feel happier.
Cherry seemed to feel that it had taken them a long time to get to the wedding day, while Chris felt the opposite. There hadn't been enough time in his mind to get everything perfect, but somehow everything had come together. On the day itself things had gone so quickly, but it felt like they'd rushed to get here. Yet Cherry was right. The day had been perfect, and there had been no better time for the two of them to get married. He returned her kiss, albeit briefly, unable to stop himself from smiling at her,
As Cherry rested her head upon his shoulder Chris moved his arm around her, holding her close. "Are you tired?" he asked her, placing a kiss on top of her head. He was more concerned about his new wife at this moment in time than anything else. "We don't have to get up early tomorrow, so if you need longer in bed then we can have it?" He placed another kiss on the top of her head, not noticing even slightly that the photographer managed to catch the unaware couple being cute for what was likely the 100th time that day.

It’s finally happened. Cherry and Chris are finally married and now with the reception in full swing, the couple finally have some time to themselves before it’s time for them to thank everyone for coming and helping them celebrate their big day.
The wedding ceremony was over. That meant that the reception had started and the wedding party had gone off to take photos together, which was essentially Chris, Cherry, Mike, and Ana. Cherry’s sister and brother were there as well. The wedding party was small but to be fair, it was never going to be large, even if the wedding had been planned out longer than a month in advance. Still, Cherry was happy with how it was going so far, and was glad that she had been wearing waterproof mascara because between Chris’ vows, he vows, being pronounced man and wife and Mike’s blubbering, Cherry had gotten emotional herself and was able to keep her mascara off of her face once she wasn’t in front of the people who loved and cared for her most.
The pictures went by easily before the party returned to the reception where there were a few speeches, Mike and Ana’s speeches making everyone laugh before each of the father’s made their speeches. Once those were done, it was finally time for food and dancing. It was during the food and dancing that Cherry and Chris were finally able to sit and relax. Although not for too long because eventually they would be pulled back to their feet for their first dance as husband and wife. For now, though, they were able to sit down and eat, and relax and enjoy themselves. Grant it, the rest of the night would be celebratory, no stress, no concern, just happiness.
Mike and Ana had gone off to dance and that left Cherry and Chris alone at the head table at the reception, which wasn’t really a head table. It was just a table that the wedding party was at, but they digressed. Cherry couldn’t stop smiling. She was all but grinning ear to ear and she was sure that tomorrow her cheeks would hurt, but she didn’t care. She had Chris’ hand in hers under the table, just like always when they were eating together either with other people around or alone, and her food was well forgotten. She had turned to Chris and smiled at him. “I love you,” she told him, no doubt for the hundredth time since she had been able to see him standing in front of her in front of all of their friends and family.

Getting through the wedding ceremony was by far the most terrifying thing that Chris had done. He wanted to marry Cherry, of course he did, but the fact that it was a proper ceremony with people watching hadn't helped any. Poor Mike, his best man, had had his work cut out for him. He'd had to try and calm the man's nerves in the run up to the ceremony, succeeding and managing to coax Chris away from a few nervous breakdowns that seemed to be looming. But then when it was over came the speeches which was a whole other matter. Somehow he'd managed to stumble through it, feeling like he was moving in a bit of a daze the entire time, given the events of the day.
It seemed almost like it was non-stop from the moment he'd woken up, and so when the meals had been cleared away and the 'dance floor' created, Chris breathed a sigh of relief. He was happily sitting at what had been designated the 'head table' with his wife (Cherry's new relationship to him was something that he didn't think he'd ever get used to) by his side. Despite the fact that he was feeling a little tired he still grinned at everyone, looking every part the smitten husband.
He looked out at the room, seeing many happy faces around them, but there was really only one that he cared about at that moment in time. He turned to look at Cherry, only to find that she was looking right back at him. If he could have smiled more at her then he would have done, but he couldn't, and so he settled for squeezing her hand. "I love you too... Mrs. Fleming," he said, wanting to giggle over her new name. It was going to take a lot of getting used to. He leaned in, placing a kiss on her cheek. "I still can't believe it," he admitted to her, his thumb stroking at hers. "We really did it." There had been so many times over the last few weeks where it seemed like they might not manage to get everything done in time.

Going Home
reagankittrickrp:
Cherry was glad that Chris took a breath as she instructed him to do. Sometimes she worried that he would forget how to breathe if he just decided to keep talking. Still, he had taken a breath or two as Cherry gave him a more…realistic option of how they could do things. At least it was more realistic than what he was thinking was going to happen. He wanted all of it to happen right now, she at least tried to plan it for later in the day. She was trying to be as realistic as possible, but also let her husband-to-be know that his ideas weren’t awful and that she would do what she could to incorporate them all into a solid plan, one that would actually make sense.
And after she spoke, Chris was silent which wasn’t something that worried her. That was normal, and she grinned a little wider as Chris gave an option that was even more rational than hers was. Dinner at his parents’ tomorrow night sounded like a far better idea, especially since that meant they would have more time to get everyone together at his parents’ home and get everything else figured out over dinner. Then, they could return home tomorrow and rest, not panicking as much as they had been about trying to plan a wedding in a month’s time, but instead, only stressing about it a little bit, because let’s be honest, when planning a wedding, one is rarely not stressed.
Cherry nodded in response to his new suggestion, agreeing with him before he glanced at the clock, and she did too. She made a face of surprise just as Chris suggested gathering everything that they needed for the registry office. Cherry nodded her head in agreement. “I think so, my love,” she told him as she moved to stand up from the couch and head into their shared room. Chris, no doubt, had what he needed in his office, while Cherry had what she needed in her bedside table drawer…that was charmed to hold a lot more than it looked so, it would take her a bit longer to find what she needed, but not too much longer…thankfully.
Tag; @christopherflemingrp
By arranging a dinner for tomorrow evening, it would give Cherry and Chris plenty of time to do the things that they needed to do in preparation for the wedding. It would give them today together, to get everything sorted at the registry office. They could then have a nice evening together and chill after the frantic and chaotic things that had happened the day before. It would be their day, just for them, and the rest could wait for the next day. Yes, it would be one day less to get things organised and sorted for the wedding, which wouldn't help Chris' anxiety, but he knew that they needed it. They could then take the day tomorrow to figure out what they needed and go to dinner with a plan.
Getting everything they needed together would make him feel a little better and more organised, so he got up with her and headed into his office. He had a large filing cabinet in there filled with everything that he needed. He dug through each drawer, easily finding all of the things that he needed. He had a system, because of course he did, and so in just a few minutes he had gathered all of the paperwork that he needed to register to get married to Cherry.
He checked the stack he had many times, ensuring that he had everything he needed, and he walked out of his office with a wide grin on his face. "Is it silly that I'm excited?" he asked Cherry as he walked into their bedroom to find her gathering her own papers together. He put them down on the bed beside him, putting a hand on her thigh. "I can't wait to marry you," he told her, staring at her with that love-sick look upon his face that he often got. Even if people did not know that he and Cherry were together they'd know it the instant he looked at her. His love and adoration for her seemed to shine out of his face.

Going Home
reagankittrickrp:
Alright. So Cherry had made the right call on getting the back garden of the Fleming-Sutherland home “reserved” for their use for their wedding by the end of the month and Chris couldn’t have been happier with it. He seemed absolutely stunned that she would have even thought of that as an option, which was made abundantly clear before he kissed her. His kiss, of course, hadn’t surprised her and didn’t show her that he was stunned. His kiss assured her that she had made the right choice and that she had a perfect idea for the two of them to get married there. Sure, Cherry didn’t have a lot of memories in that backyard, but Chris did. Chris had memories there and Cherry hoped that she would one day have more memories there than the ones that she had now. What other way to start that tradition than to get married there?
The kiss was broken and Cherry was finally able to explain to him her thought process. Plus, she was a romantic so a backyard wedding? Surrounded by people that they loved? Who put hard work and love into decorating the yard and setting it up and everything? That would just make their day and their moment even more special. She honestly was surprised neither of them had thought of it sooner and made it a lot cheaper and faster for them to get married. To be fair, they probably didn’t even need to get anyone to cater the event, as Cherry, Meredith, and Lisa would be able to make enough food for the people who were going to attend, especially since most of them would be there to help set up anyway.
Chris spoke up, saying that her idea was perfect. He then asked her several questions, about when they should start telling people, if it was best to do so after they went to the registry office or now? He was curious as to whether they should meet up with their best friends after the registry office or get everyone together at the Fleming-Sutherland home to discuss things. Honestly, it meant Cherry giggled a bit at her love. “Chris, breathe a moment,” she reminded him. “And I think we can let Ana and Mike rest today and run their own errands. But, if you want to get everyone together, we can call everyone real quick, and set up dinner tonight at your parents’ place? We can head over after the registry office appointment and help your mum get dinner all ready and set up?” She offered, suggesting an option that sort of incorporated everything that Chris seemed to want. Plus, it’d be a nice family dinner.
Tag; @christopherflemingrp
Chris was rather frustrated at himself that he had never really considered a wedding in a back garden or similar area before. It would be so much easier, and though it would mean sorting things out like extra bathrooms for guests to use, as well as parking for anyone who would need it to travel to the wedding, it would also cut a lot of costs. He'd spent so long pouring over wedding magazines that he felt cheated, that he should have seen this brilliant solution before, but he hadn't, and so he could only applaud his brilliant fiancee for thinking of it before him. Not only had she thought of it, but she'd also confirmed that the property owners were okay with it. Now all they needed was confirmation from the registry offices.
That didn't stop the tsunami of questions spouting from his lips, and he paused as Cherry instructed him to breathe for a moment. He took a deep breath in, only releasing it very slowly as she began to speak once more. She suggested giving Mike and Ana the day to run their errands, but Chris was eager to get everyone together and planning as soon as possible. But he could also see the logic in not rushing into it immediately, and he paused at the suggestions that Cherry made.
"We could arrange a dinner for tomorrow at my parents' house?" he suggested, looking at Cherry. "We have time to get everyone together then and figure out what we need." He glanced at the clock on the wall, amazed by how the time was flying by. "Should we get everything we need together for the registry office?" he asked, a smile appearing on his lips at the thought. They would return home that afternoon with everything that they needed to get married in a month's time. He just hoped that all of their family and friends would be willing to help out too. There was a lot to do and seemingly very little time in which to do it.
